I am back at it again. I really hope to stay with the program.

I live in MO where our weather changes by the hour. Not kidding, we have weird weather here. I need more dry time so that I can start hiking again.

In 2012 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. After 2 kids and cancer I had packed on about 75 extra pounds. Now let me tell you how 2012 began.

I woke up sick, went to the Dr. and he said I had the flu and a uti. So he put me on meds. I did not get any better. He called me a few days later and said my sugar levels were a 11 high almost 12. My best friend would be leafy green veggies until I was to see him. Ended up in ER and then ICU. Blood sugars were fine but my liver and kidneys had started to shut down. Pumped me full of antibiotics and fluids and I started feeling better. After 5 days I was released back on the same med for the uti. 1 week later and I am back in ICU again. This time they kept me on the IV antibiotic and kept me longer in the hospital. Came out all was fine. Put me through lots of tests because they had no diagnosis for me. Every Dr had my file, I was put on the internet and no one could give me that diagnosis. I was tole that I was an anomaly. OK, i'l take it. My journey with diabetes had begun.

2017 I was sick again. Back to the er I go. Same thing as 2012. This time I am told I have the flu again and a uti. My urine is jelled and orange. Send me home on the antibiotics again. 3 days later I am back and going to ICU. My blood pressure dropped to 42/24. Live and kidney were shutting down again. Same routine get me better and send me home.

2019 Guess what! I am sick again and go to the er. They pump me full of fluids and start me on antibiotics again. Day 3 and I tell my husband that I just want to die. I was feeling so bad. Back to the ER we go. I am admitted to the ICU again because of my liver and kidneys. However I tell my nurse that even on the antibiotic my urine looked like coffee. She goes out of the room and tells another nurse. Now standing by them is a Intern. He is listening and something clicked in his head. He had just read something about this. So he comes in and asks if he can review all my old charts. Have at it Doc everyone else has. He comes back hours later and says he knows what is wrong with me.
Due tell.

I was on Macrobid. OK I am allergic to it. Doc tells me not only am I allergic but I am one of the rare cases that is so allergic to it that my kidneys and liver start to shut down. All because I said my urine looked like coffee and a intern was listening. The Doc said that if anyone tries to give it to me to scream and run the other way.

So I finally have a diagnosis after 7 years. Every 3 months I have to have blood work to make sure my kidneys and liver are functioning properly. So far so good.

So I thought all was good. Now I have a problem with my blood sugars. Were they were once in double digits they now are so high that I take 6 shots and pills everyday and they can't figure out what is gong on even I go into the hospital.

So I am hoping that by working out again and continue to eat healthy that it will start to go back to normal.. You know I was told to loose weight and I lost 40 pounds and that is when the numbers went into the high 500's.

So that is my story and I hope that everyone will help me to keep strong with this/

God love my family for staying with me.

Are you interested in a Challenge?

The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Spring challenge. To get to the Challenge go to my page and click on the Blue Biggest Loser Icon, copy and paste the link below, or let me know and I can send you an invite. Join the Team then sign up on the waitlist. It’s the thread right below the Frosted Fitness Fun Chit Thread.
