I'm also working on a year without CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!! (Can it be humanly possible? Inquiring and bored minds want to know!!)

I'm a biblioholic, love tennis and I want to get in shape so I can actually PLAY tennis again. I want to buddy up with like minded people and share motivation and enthusiasm, as well as brainstorm and strategize how to avoid dieting pitfalls (for me, that's night eating, as well as emotional eating.

Since September, 2007, I've dropped 54.5 pounds and I want to make sure I KEEP THEM OFF, as well as continue to drop the 94.5 pounds I've got to drop before I fully accomplish my goal.

It's now the second day of July, 2008 (my how time flies when you're fighting the flab!!!). I had dropped a total of 62 pounds by March of this year (joining my company's Wellness Program really motivated me - who knew how competitive I could be??).

By the end of June, 2008, I had dropped a total of 71 pounds. I gained back about 5 pounds, so I'm working on taking that off, and then going for another, oh, 78 pounds or so.

It's now 7/31/08, and I dropped 4.5 pounds. So that's now a grand total of 72.5 pounds gone, that will not be missed. Just 76.5 to go. Look out Maria Shriekopova, I'll zap you off the tennis court!

It's now 8/6/08, and I've now been chocolate-free for 345 days (21 days to go - getting so so close)!

A co-worker jokingly asked me if I'd like to lick the chocolate, covered, dripping, luscious spoon she was holding (I had walked over to one of the classrooms that teaches life skills/cooking and they were making desserts). I steadfastly refused, and got my jollies vicariously watching her devour that little bit of heaven and virtuously went back to my office and quickly downed a Coca Cola Zero. Not as much fun, but much safer.

8/11/08 - Removed everything from my jeans pocket, took off any stray jewelry, and considered shaving off all the rest of my hair before I confidently stepped on the medical scale at work. Found out I'd removed 2.5 pounds since last week. That's 77 pounds total. RAH!

I've still got a ways to go, but I know I will get there. My tennis partners will then FEAR me because I'll run down every ball, zap them with my ferocious first serve, scare the beejeezus out of them when I rush the net, and drop shot/dink them to death.

It's so nice to have realistic goals!
Right now I'm listening to The Beatles serenade me with "Birthday." I'm going to see how many times I can play it continuously without going berserk.

I survived and thrived (in some respects) this past year. I've dropped 81 pounds since last September, and gone down SIX jean sizes, as well.

I'm also on DAY 360 of being chocolate-free (it can be done, campers, but the first month is a BEAR!).

Just 7 more days until I hit the big 366 days. I'm writing a book about it, too.

I do know that on day 367, I'll be at the local chocolate store to buy 1/4 pound of dark chocolate brazil nuts. I may savor just one nut, and give the rest away, or have one per day. Hard to say.

My next year-long streak may be to get off Coca Cola Zero (that may be even harder to kick than chocolate). Give me strength, Lord!

Removed another 3 pounds since last week. That's a total of 84!!!!!! (Pardon me, while I do my happy dance!)

Also on Day 364 of being chocolate-free. Just two days after this! Huzzah and hooray.

Despite having a Saturday where I over indulged re: food, I got back on track the very next day and stayed within my calorie range (the 2 hours of tennis Sunday morning didn't hurt either).

I'm planning on joing TWO tennis (singles) leagues this fall. Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Off to the next adventure!

I don't want to get anorexia-thin, just down to 130 pounds, if at all possible.

Again, my company's helping me on my quest by dangling a check for $720 (total) if I complete their year-long wellness program. I'm also my team's captain, and I'm a firm believer in "Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk." If I can't be a role model and help others, why bother?

With the money I'll earn, I'm buying a tennis ball machine! It's always nice to treat oneself to a prudent, totally sensible purchase, isn't it?

Any money left over is going towards tennis balls, a tennis dress (size 12), and other miscellaneous necessities.

Did I mention I LOVE TENNIS??????

Happy days, campers, happy days.

Go for your dreams, be well, be happy.
