Hello Friends

Thanks for dropping by. I am so glad to have found spark people a couple years ago. I was on here regularly for about a year and managed to lose 52 pounds. During that time I had a spinal fusion surgery and was so happy I was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, there has been a few bumps in this road which have lead me to a bit of depression over the past fall & winter as my back kinda just quit improving and it felt like it started to regress. Then my mother fell on the ice in December and shattered her knee which meant I was spending more time helping her than focusing on my health.. which I am not complaining I love her to pieces but it is funny how quickly you can stop your progression when someone you love needs you.

Anyhow, now it is Mid March and I have gained about 20 pounds and have to focus on ME to get it off. And it wasn't like I was at a good weight anyhow so now I just have 20 pounds more to lose than before. But I can do this. I realize I have to go back to tracking all my food and planning my meals and quit eating out.
Sometimes I think being single makes it harder to eat correctly because it stinks just cooking for one. But I know with some planning it is possible and I am going to have to put my mind to it and get it done.
I also need to squeeze in more ACTIVE time and use this big ol eliptical machine that is taking up most of my living room and teach my dogs to walk properly on a leash and not try to drag me along at 20 MPH and then I could really get some of those calories burned. I need to set some more short term goals. Those work best for me.

I run a family business and we make funny shirts, hats, mugs, aprons, and more. It is great, my parents and brother can all work together in (relative) harmony. PUN intended.

Fitness Minutes: 5,211

My Goals:
as of June 4 11, my goals incl:
1.) Lose all my excess weight before back surgery so my recovery will be ridiculously easy.
2.) Lower cholesterol
3.) Look HOT. Let's face it, a new healthy me is great, but I want to feel fantastic in the clothes I wear (or not wear, as it were... with a special person)
4.) After the surgery I want to be able to work harder and begin a side business I have kept putting off due to the restraints. Then I can resume my life in full.

My Program:
I am walking and stretching. I am going to be incorporating much more once I feel what is going to be ok with my back. I have a really really nice elliptical so I hope to start doing that a couple times a day. I work from home so I am truly lucky in that respect. I hope to work some yoga in the next 2 weeks. And eat better. I went today and stocked up on fruits and veggies and plan to do all home cooking this week.

Personal Information:
I am 39, tall, long hair, assertive and caring. I love my family, which is my parents and brother I am single and with everything going on right now, I am quite fine with it.

Other Information:
I love reading & music. Since I work from home I watch too many tv and news shows.
I think if I could spend an entire day doing anything with someone I would choose Bill Clinton. Because I think he is one of the most intelligent people out there and I could learn so much from him (pleeze refrain from the dirty jokes. lol)
If I could spend a week in any part of the world, I would choose South Korea. Something about the culture there gets me excited about life. So, once I am healthy and fit that is the place I hope to head off to. I need to learn more Korean, as of now I know only about 10-15 words.

    Thanks for the goodie and the nice comments! I love teaching Zumba! It doesn't even feel like exercise! It really is for everyone, do what you can at first and each time you can do a little more. Definitely take it easy with your recent surgery, but it is great for your core muscles that support your back. Even just some simple balancing types of things would be great for you. I am also licensed to teach Zumba Gold which is more for people just starting out or that have any disability. It is slower paced and focuses a lot on balance. Practice walking on a pretend tightrope or stand on one leg while hanging onto a chair. Have fun and let me know how your class goes!

    Hi Thank You for the comment on my blog. I will check out the you tube vids on dog training and see how it goes, I'll take any help and advice to train a happy cute dog.
