About me? Well, what do you want to know?

I multitask, talk too fast, type faster than I talk, and think too much. That's me in a nutshell. LOL.

I'm a therapist (mental health) working on other certifications, licenses, and degrees. I'm a nerd and won't apologize for that.

I love to laugh and smile..as you'll notice in my pics. I have a little (big) boy (born in August 2009). He's done about 12 5k's and one 10k with me.

What else?

Hmm, well I have curves and lots of 'em. I don't remember ever being too small. I was born premature weighing only 2 pounds, 14 ounces, I've been gaining too much weight since then. LOL

I've always been interested in nutrition and health.

I've been on many diets in my lifetime: Weight Watchers, Cabbage (yes I said cabbage), 20 grams of fat a day diet (with a little dial I would have to move everytime I ate food with fat in it), Atkins, etc. Uhm, I'm properly forgetting some.

I know NOW that any diet will work while you're on it.

I'm no longer interested in dieting. This is a way of life.

My ultimate goal isn't to be skinny. If that's YOUR goal, so be it and I will support you. I just want to remain healthy and fit. I don't have to be a size 0 to do that.

My current goal is to lose 52 pounds (as of 4/2011) but if you see my pictures, that loss won't make me skinny.

I lost 30 pounds in 2008 but gained it back in 2009 (pregnancy, lack of exercise, etc)

I like to do 5k's. I did 5 of them in 2008. I did 3 in 2009 (pushing a stroller). I did about 8 in 2010. I plan to do 12 in 2011.

Fitness Minutes: 2,813

My Goals:
To live to be 101 yrs young.

To have toned arms.

To run a 5k without stopping.

To run a 10k without stopping.

To finish a marathon (walk&run)

Lose 50 lbs.


My Program:
Consistency is my goal.

Here's what I'm working on (or towards):

10-12 glasses of water.

I don't drink juice or soda.

I am a vegan.

Food/energy/mood journal daily

Cardio 5x per week (45-60mins)
Examples: AMT, elliptical, spinning, stairmill, jump rope, jumping jacks, plyometrics, running, walking

Strength training 2-3x per week. Examples include free weights, machines, calisthenics. I use DVD's by Jillian Michaels (Kettlebell), Chalean Johnson (Chalene Extreme), Jackie Warner, Tony Horton (p90x), The Firm, etc.

This isn't a fad or phase for me..this is a way of life. I'm on a mission and plan to get to my goal soon. :-)



Personal Information:
I am 5'8 or 5'9, depends on who's asking. I mention my height because I often go to pages and wonder how tall people are. :-)

I live in South Florida. Joined SP many years ago but became consistent in 2008 and 2009. Lost 30 pounds between August 2008 and January 2009.

Gained 27 back while pregnant. Lost some and gained some since then. I'm working my way back down the scale.
