Mothers Day 2020 - the message is still so very important.
Mothers Day 2019 -
“Life is as precious to us as it is for an animal. An animal is as loving, caring, and kind to her children as we are. She might not be able to tell us but she can express it through her eyes and expressions. She feels joy and happiness. She is helpless in our cruel hands and vulnerable to our vicious greed. Let us be kind to animals. Let us learn to feel their pain. Can we kill a helpless baby to feed our greed? Then how can we kill helpless animal friends that can’t talk? Often we kill just for fun. How funny would it be if an animal killed a human just for fun? Let us be kind to animals as much as possible. I know we can. It is easier to love an animal than a human being. If you love an animal, it will rarely hurt you. Let us practice kindness and compassion to animals so that we may create a peaceful world.”

January 2019.
If the snow won't come to me, then I must go to the snow.

I WILL go snowshoeing, and maybe even cross-country skiing.
I WILL learn to skike, a type of cross-skate that emulates XC skiing. Plus, I will train my Border Collies to mush, and then I will pretend that I am skijoring in the mountains with a team of huskies, anytime I want. I have a very good imagination.

2018 was a very difficult year. Hip surgery, complications of surgery, carbon monoxide poisoning, other family members hospitalized, business crisis and financial losses, evacuation alerts from wildfire and then from flooding, scrambling to provide living space for family members and pets who were displaced by the Camp Fire wildfire. My beloved husky passed away.

My mantra is, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." I must hope that this is true.

Counting my blessings mainly involves telling myself that "things could be worse." Yay.

2016 statement: I am working hard to achieve a better level of health and wellness. In the past, I was very active, and I have always loved being out in nature. I hope that I can improve my fitness level so that I can enjoy being active once again.
