emoticon back, Amy! I am kinda overwhelmed with everything else I have going on right now, so I'm not sure how much motivation I'll be worth. I'm working out 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week. I am NOT tracking my food faithfully, and when I do, I am eating WAY over my allotted calories. I'm that's why I've been "stuck" for the past two months, just losing and gaining the same couple of pounds endlessly. But I guess that's better than going up, up, and away, huh? I have two new friends on SP now - my friend Stacey from high school that you've likely met before (DYERSURVIVOR), and another friend from high school that lives up in Alaska now (MIZBEECH). They are both super positive and tons of fun and I know they'd LOVE to be your buddy and keep you going if you're interested! My Sparkbuddy that lives up in Silver City, and hour from me, is always motivating me, too. Her name is Linda (LINDAKAY228) and she's a grandmother in her 50's, but she's made the most amazing life changes the past 18 months, you wouldn't even believe it. I think the biggest thing is getting out there & meting people you click with and reading inspirational blogs. They keep you going in the rough patches. Also, don't worry about killing yourself, limiting yourself to 1200 measly calories a day, or working out 90-120 minutes at a time. I think that's overkill and leads to burn out. Do something reasonable that you can commit to forever and still live your LIFE! :) I miss you - I'll be keeping an eye on you and watching for your success!!!

Hey Amy - I'd definitely try the red beans & rice recipe I made last week. It was a SP recipe, one of Chef Meg's makeovers. I think it's called "Mama's Red Beans & Rice". You use the turkey kielbasa/smoked sausage, beans, onions, tomatoes, etc. I used the instant/Minute brown rice instead of regular brown rice, because the regular stuff takes too darn long to cook. I also used some chicken broth in place of part of the water to add flavor. It was very tasty. :-) Oh, and I had cut the red pepper flakes down to half, since I was nervous it would be too spicy for the kids. It ended up not being spicy at all, so I'll use the amount listed next time. If everyone in your family likes it hot, I'd add more - you can also use Tabasco or other hot sauce when you serve it.

I've wondered the same thing about the strength training, Amy. Oh well, even if they don't count on here, you KNOW that you are not only burning calories while you are doing it, you are ALSO building more lean muscle mass, which burns more calories ALL the time! So it's like double dipping! :-)
