My name is Amanda and I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS which explains my inability to lose weight in the past. For the past year or two I have been working out and eating healthy and wouldn't budge to the tenth of a pound most days. That was a major disappointment.

I have always been a very athletic person and since junior high have done: volleyball, swimming, softball, and school/competitive dance. In high school I was on the high school dance team and a competitive dance team and was dancing 6 days/week. I weighed 130 pounds and thought I was fat. Now, I would do anything to be 130 pounds.

I recently began working out using p90x 3-4 days/week. I try to do other activities the other days of the week such as: running, walking the dog, etc.

I currently weigh 165 pounds and would like to be 145 pounds by May. That's only 20 pounds away. :] I can do this.

Since May of 2009, I have: graduated college with a degree in Special Education, moved 5 hours away from my family to TN for a teaching position, planned a wedding, and adjusted to a new job/town/married life.

I married my best friend in October 2009 after 4 years of dating and am loving married life.

I would ultimately like to lose weight so I can be happier and healthier before having a baby in 2 years (or more).

Personal Information:
I am a Special Education Preschool teacher and absolutely love my kids. I chase around 11 children from ages 3-5 for 6.5 hours a day.

I am married to my best friend and look forward to having children of my own some day. :]

    Hi Amanda... actually I think it might be PCOS! Awhile ago they thought that might be my problem and I have a few of the symptoms (according to wikipedia, ha) so tomorrow I'm off to the gyno for my annual and I'm going to ask about that. From what I've read it seems like low-carb may be the only way to go to really get around it...? I've always had a stomach out of proportion to the rest of me - and I think it's because of diabetes, but maybe PCOS too?
    Anyway thanks so much for the comment on my blog and I'm going to do some more research thanks to you ;) And as an audiologist I have a huge appreciation for special ed teachers!!

    I always laugh bc your profile pic and then come to your page and it's you all dressed up! Did you get a FIRE workout to try? I have HipHopAbs on my list to get but haven't yet. I'm still doing the hybrid of FIRE and CLX and probably will stick with it for at least the next year. I just love the music- I'm sure on youtube you could find a few videos to see HipHopAbs. Also there is the 30-day $ back if you get it through beachbody. How have you been doing with the holidays and such? I've actually been going 147-148 and it's crazy. Feels so good bc I'm not really working hard to be here- just have done the work and now can maintain. Have a great evening! :-)
