Hello, just a short bit about me: I am a emotional over eater, who comes from a whacky family, which led to an ever whackier childhood, and that gave me one heckuva 'history'. I am a survivor. I tend to say what I think, and temper it with a dose of good intentions, and I admire the same thing in others. My goal with Spark People was to have a place where there was active support, and others who are on the path I am on, or have been on that path. It's an amazing place for that, to be able to ...

My goal with Spark People was to have a place where there was active support, and others who are on the path I am on, or have been on that path. It's an amazing place for that, to be able to communicate and support and be supported by folks who are, have been, or might be where you are. For more of my back story, feel free to read my blogs or look over to the side here for the personal information!
My mission, should I chose to accept it, and believe me, I have. Is to get to the bottom of why I have chosen to hide behind the layers of armor I have given myself. It is to live an active and full life to the best of MY ability. I say my, because each person has their own 'perfect' vision of where they want to see themselves. For me, it isn't being 'skinny' or even thin, but to be a healthy weight, and more then anything, feel at home inside myself again. I have come to view a lot of my body issues, as a visual reminder of things I was scared of, and no longer need to be. I want to be an example. Not for you, not for the person who reads this after you, but for my girls, and to do that, I have to own up to my mistakes, and choices, good and bad. And make new choices to replace those 'bad' ones.

Short term goals:
I want to be under 300 lbs for the first time in two years. My goal is to lose 23 lbs within the next 10 weeks. In doing it, I am improving not only my health, but my state of mind. - Completed 12/28/2010
Long Term Goals:
I want to keep following my action plan, until I have reached the weight that feels 'good' to me.
I want to tone my form, and grow strong not just in body but in mind and spirit.
I want to be able to race my daughters and win.
I want to be able to do the things I have dreamed of, without fear or complications that might come if I keep on going as I had been.
My Program:
1. To do full body strength training 3 times a week, until over the plateau, then go back to Lower body, Core, Upper Body , with one 'rest' day with no strength training in the week.
2. To make sure to do 60 mins of cardio five times a week.
3. Track every bite of food that goes into my mouth, and every ounce of water. I will make my goals, eat within my calorie range, and make sure to take my vitamins.
4. Make sure to allot myself 30 minutes a day of meditation and reading. In exploring the things that go on inside my head, and coming away from that stronger and more secure within myself.
Personal Information:
We have lived a bit of everywhere, New Orleans for 10 years, up until Katrina, then well :) we moved up north, only to come back down south again after a year. I am mother to two beautiful little girls, and have been married since I was 17 :) I have had a whole lot of life, both good and bad in my years. And good or bad, horrible or pure rapture, each of those things has shaped me into who I am. I wouldn't change a thing.
