Lots of things will try to throw me off track, and I am determined to keep my goals clear. I know not only good things will happen, but I will own my response, and try to have the best vibe possible!

I saw your comment on Linda's blog about grocery prices and 3 teenagers. I have 5 grown children but when they were teens they ate all the time. My DD started working at 15 at McD's but the boys were older and all lazy, although they all turned out well.

I followed Amy Dacyczyn The Tightwad Mother who had a husband and 6 kids, as she was on a lot of talk shows in the 90s. She cooked everything from scratch, and had her kids work in their garden and she put a lot of produce in her large freezer. She was very organized and thankfully, she had a husband who was as frugal as she was. All of her kids are married now & through college, but they got scholarships & 2 went to the Naval Academy. My kids are through college.
I remember a woman on Oprah who had 11 kids and she owned a dance studio and they all learned dance. She said she had a bread machine and made lots of "yeast rolls" which her kids ate with jam or butter and she said it helped cut down on chips and other expensive snack food. She had them peel potatoes and make French Fries. She, too was very organized and kept everything planned.
Amy never shopped in a grocery store, but bought food through a wholesale restaurant supply. We have one here in town & I called & the lady said "Yes, we will sell you a 25# bag of flour or a 2# can of yeast, etc. but you can't come in and shop, as we just work from your list." Of course, now you can buy bulk from Sam's Club, but Amy was organized and used a vacuum sealer and repackaged and dated everything.
