Introduction Text I'm a married father of 2 who always seems to have too much on his plate to worry about himself. Somehow I need to find a balance in life and a path to get/stay healthy. Looking to lose 20 pounds or so of fat before trying to put it back on as muscle. My weight as a number isn't really an issue, it's where I'm carrying it. Update...last Labor Day (2019) I set new goals and worked very hard. Counting every calorie, ensuring I got 10k steps every day, going on increasingly longer runs every Saturday and Sunday morning, and making an effort to eat healthier foods I achieved my goal of over 20 pounds lost by Halloween. I am now down about 30 and doing well maintaining. I run only once a week now but keep pushing to do a little better month by month. Annual physical at the doctors has shown improvements in most categories (cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, etc.) as well. I currently have a 50 day streak of 10k steps per day (with some over 20k) so I’m not doing perfect but I’m staying on track. Setting goals and telling someone I didn’t want to go back and tell I failed I think was a good mental driver.
