My name is Karen. I am a mother to four wonderful sons, all grown and married, so I also have four daughters now. They have given me nine grandchildren with number ten coming in January! I was divorced Aug. 2015. After a 32 year marriage. Now I am single and with the kids grown, I am mapping out the next chapters in my life. I have decided I can afford to be selfish and spend some time on myself this chapter. I have started a ton of times on Sparkpeople, although I kept coming back. Failing to stick with anything during any of my diet attempts. Looking for friends to help me motivate my way to a healthy lifestyle instead of a new diet fail. I've never been skinny. I don't know what to imagine. Being healthy and able to have some energy for my grandchildren would be nice. To be happy with myself would be amazing too!

My Goals:
I know for me, small goals are going to be key! I need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I will start with 10- pound losses! I will need to add excercise. Even walking is going to be tough with my foot pain, but not impossible. I will get a pedometer and work on counting steps. I want to do the 5 fruits and veggies a day, to begin eating healthy. Logging in to Sparkpeople everyday and tracking my meals and snacks, to be honest to myself, and keep myself motivated. All these small steps will help get me there.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.
