Spark Spotlight: Beth (BETHLYN84)

By , SparkPeople Blogger
At SparkPeople, we love helping people accomplish big goals—but we believe it's equally important to celebrate the small successes along the way. Each week in the Spark Spotlight, we'll check in with a featured member about his or her proudest moments, biggest challenges and advice for others on living, thinking and feeling healthier. We hope these quick snapshots will help motivate you to keep moving steadily toward your own goals, week by week.
This Week's Spotlight: Beth (BETHLYN84)
Age: 34
Small Success of the Week
Beth recently posted in the Community Goal Feed that, despite not wanting to, she did a 30-minute workout.
What's your overall goal?
I want to get back into shape and be healthy and active with my family.

How is SparkPeople helping you get there?
Tracking my food and exercise helps me be accountable to myself and to really look at what I am eating and how active I am. The community support is great! To share and celebrate mine and others successes and struggles is very helpful.

What's your biggest challenge right now?
Finding time is my biggest challenge. As a mom of two small children and a teacher, time to commit to myself and health often come last.

What advice do you have for someone who just joined SparkPeople today?
Track your food daily and when you don't want to exercise or make good food choices, do it anyway. Every small choice adds up!

Want to be the next small success we spotlight? Share your successes on the goal feed or in the comments below, and you might be the next person we contact!

2-12-19 I have had 2 knee problems, last year 1 from jumping in Zumba. (6 months before I could 'really' walk or get up off the floor for Sheppard Pilates again ) & this week the other knee 'popped' & leg pain was the result. (it's only been a week & I am SO much better! ) I have been healing from finding a video, my SP special friend IAMJETTA, recommended. It is a You Tube video, I use everyday, it helps my knees. I don't know how to 'link' it, but here is the title:

Great advice! Couldn't have said it better myself. Kudos to you being able to juggle all those balls and sticking to healthy habits while doing so. Report
Wonderful message for me today. I have been working hard to just make myself do my workouts and it's now always easy. This was a great motivator! And I commend BETHLYN84 for doing what she knows is best for her! Report
Congratulations!! Every step you take in the fitness plan, is good!! Keep up that great work! Report
Now you feel better and more accomplished, SparkFriend. That can sometimes be a hurdle we all have to cross. Making it happen, oh yeah! Report
WTG. It is often hard to exercise but so worth it. Thanks Report
Way to go! Some days we all have to force ourselves to just do it! We never give up! Report
That is great and personally when I don't want to workout, I always tell myself "you can at least do 10 minutes!" No matter what I end up doing more. Report

The one thing that really worked for me was deciding that, whatever my circumstances were, I was going to take care of myself and love myself enough to lose the weight. Nothing tastes as good as slim and healthy feels! Report
I absolutely LOVED reading this and BETHLYN84's post. What a great kick start to anyone's day! Report
