8 Upper Body Resistance Band Workouts

By , SparkPeople Blogger

Last week's fitness round-up blog featured eight lower body resistance band exercises. As mentioned earlier, resistance bands are a great investment to add to your fitness arsenal. Not only are they inexpensive, but they are quite convenient to tuck away in your luggage when you travel. And studies have shown that resistance bands can offer many of the same fitness benefits as using free weights or gym machines.

My leg is in a large brace that I have to wear all day. I'm going on a trip, and will definitely take these with me. I just may start using them before I go. Thank you so much. Report
Great and will be able to use the ones that I have. Report

I do, I would, and I did. Report
Just bought some! My 16 year old son has already used them and likes them. I am going away a couple times this summer and that's why I bought them - easy to travel with. Will be trying them this coming weekend. Report
I always bring them but the question is do I USE them! The answer is "not always". I love to follow Nicole's videos but the band exercises don't seem to be available for sale and while traveling, playing them would be an issue anyways. Ideally, they could become available for a Kindle. I always have my Kindle with me and I understand that videos can be formatted for the Kindle and played back on the machine. That would be ideal! Report
I do have resistance bands and should use them more than I do. I'll have to get back to using them. Thanks for the exercises. Report
I'm planning to ask for resistance bands for my birthday. I've been collecting exercises (from books) to use with them. The illustrations here cover some things I haven't seen. Thanks! Report
My favorite way to work out... bands! Thanks for sharing. Report
I did some and tried to add them to my plan - the frog push and the punches with band - I added my first user added exercises - but in a few weeks when I want to look at how I did them correctly - It won't be there. Don't know that I will go back to this blog - to be honest. Can you add them??? Please with demo. Report
The P90X work out with Tony Horton uses bands when you start at the beginner level. Report
I do and I did take them with me when I went to my daughter's for mother's day. Report
I found them!! Now I can start using them! Report
still like my weights! Report
Yep!! Leaving for a "vacation" mission trip in 10 days. Already planning to pack the resistance bands, yoga mat and running shoes. Not sure if I'll have time to do everything I want to do based on our schedule, but I'm going to try. Report
I need to dust mine off and start using them again! Thx Report
I have them, and they pack easily! Report
I have used resistance bands, and they really provide a workout! Report
I attended a conference where one of the vendors gave away a resistance band and a step counter to those staying in the conference hotel. It was in your room when you checked in. I wouldn't have thought of bringing those along when traveling, but now I always do. And thanks to today's blog, I can print some exercises. Report
I totally agree. I was working away from home for 9 months and took my bands with me. It was great to do a workout without having to go to a gym when you are already paying for lodging. Report
Perfect timing! I am headed out for a two week vacation soon and was planning on taking my resistance band with me. I will add these to my list of exercises. Thanks! Report
