12-Minute Indoor Power Walking Workout

Short on workout time? Need a quick energy boost? Trying to rack up a few more steps today? Join me for this quick, powered-up walk that is easy to do at home (or even at the office!) in a small space. I've included a few fun intervals to help mix up your steps and get you sweating for this short burst of activity. 
 
Oh, and be sure to look out for Peanut the French bulldog who joins us for this walk (well, in her own way)!

I began walking indoors after a friend recommended Leslie Sansone, and I really enjoyed her workouts. Then I reached a point where I was ready to try something new and add some variety, and I found Jessica Smith...love her. Check out her playlists on YouTube, extensive and truly impressive...such great options for those who want to workout at home. If you are ready to up the intensity, then try Shelly Dose, also on You Tube...she takes working out to a different stratosphere. Even now I am not sure why I felt I could work to her level...she is some kind of fit, and STRONG. I think her spirit and energy enticed me enough to believe anything is possible...it sure is! I have found another level of fitness, built muscle and lost inches of me...amen! Report

It's me again. I have a SP activity tracker, so I went & checked what it said after doing this. It is .58 miles, 1,164 steps & burns 89 calories. If you have a tracker you need to go on your tracker page & reclassify this from a walk activity to a low impact aerobic workout. Hope this helps:) Report

I love this video. I like to break my workouts up into 3. I do 2 outdoor walks & this video. It gets you sweating & is the perfect length. I usually do Leslie Sansone tapes & really like them, except I get sick of her talking. It was nice to just hear a different voice. (Sorry Leslie) Report

Those of you who are asking how many calories you burn doing this workout - the answer is likely less than 100. If you have a lean muscle mass of about 100-110 pounds and you ran a mile in 12 minutes, you burned about 100 calories. Report

I like the exercise, but dislike the high pitched whistling, I was going to subscribe to the YouTube version, but it has the whistle sound as well. Report
