The facial hair and sweating like a guy are my two biggest bugaboos. They make me crazy as we all know.. I don't go any anywhere without a razor, tweezers, and extra deodorant... It sucks. Laser hair removal is something I am considering redoing as they have newer, more effective machines.

I have nasty elvis style sideburns on my face that would started to spread to my face. I was slowly gaining a full blown black beard. Thankfully, getting on the right kind of birth control (Beyaz) cause the beard part to lighten and not be as noticeable.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

You name it and I have tried it. With waxing, threading, you need to let your hair grow out. How can you? Hair Removal Creams don't work long term or on very coarse hair. Tweezers are ok for few hair strands. Shaving is horrible... as we all know!
I have even tried laser hair removal for my face. I went for about 25 sessions (usually it is 8-10 sessions) but they still didn't go.

I feel so horrible and ugly. It's awkward when someone is looking at me and talking. All I am thinking about is, can they see my beard.. ah! ya... beard! ?
Yuck.....

[I just wanted to vent out....]

Facial Hair is very bad for me as well. The embarrassment never goes away for me.
The odd thing is, this is part of our illness, and yet the stigma with it makes us go to extreme measures to hide it. I shave every day and wear make up to try and cover it. I get sick of people asking why my face is bruised. I have a full beard and mustache, chest hair, foot hair stomach hair... its so awful.
You are not your illness. Never confuse your beauty because of one of the symptoms. ib emoticon

I have black hair that grows on my neck & chin. I have to shave every day and I hate it!!!
It makes me feel so ugly and unwomanly. I think it bothers me more than the 100 lbs. I need to loose. It's so embarrassing.
I've never heard of threading, what is it?? I've never heard of Groupon either.

Press on, the best is yet to come.

I have never let mine grow because I feel too self conscious when talking to people. Mine like your's is blonde, so it isn't really apparent unless you are A. looking for it and B. see it in the sunlight. But I know it is there. I started off plucking. Would NEVER suggest that. Hurts so bad. Then I waxed my own chin, that NEVER worked out for me because the hair grew back within a couple of days and I was getting in grown hairs because those strips don't grab the hair properly. Then I used chemical hair removal, that worked really good with results for up to a week but then my face started getting irritated after about a year of doing that. I started getting red bumps every time. So I found a really good (and decently priced) esthetician that does my chin every 3-6 weeks. Honestly, sometimes it grows back within a couple of weeks, sometimes it takes 4 weeks. Just depends. But she does a really good job and it is only $18 every couple of weeks. Honestly I was spending that on hair removal creams and home waxing kits. What I hate the most are my side burns grow really low and she also waxes those for me. Those home wax kits really don't work that well at all.

I have heard about threading but have never been brave enough to try. You will have to come back to update on how it went!!!

luckily my facial hair growth is sporadic. I get about 10 hairs randomly on my chin, jaw and cheeks. They are dark and very visible but they always grow in the same places and I just tweeze them as soon as I can see/feel them. After I was put on metformin and birth control a couple of them have started getting a lot lighter. They are still stiff/prickly but at least they aren't black anymore. I am hoping that in time all of them will lighten.. *crosses fingers*

Have any of you just let them grow for a while? They get super long! Eeh! I had one I didn't notice growing under my jawline for a long time and it was seriously an inch and a half long! I keep a much more careful watch on my face now. :-/

I've been using those veet strip wax for body and cut them down to size vs going to the salon and honestly they pick up tiny growth hence why i do it every week as i hate the start of the regrowth... But I find its impossible to pick up every single hair which is why I see growth after two days i reckon...

What do you currently use/do?

Only thing if you stop those treaments hair will grow back as you have PCOS :( so you need to keep it up... Have u looked into buying an IPL machine? Have a look around and on Groupon etc

Actually, I am a little jealous. I can't grow mine long enough to wax because in my opinion it looks terrible and is too dark! They do discounts on laser hair removal on groupon and sites like it. I did that once and it worked, but wasn't permanent for me. The coupon I had was $99 for 6 weeks, which is a pretty typical deal if you look around.

Thanks ladies!
I was waxing once a week for years, doing it my self, eek, as I hate the growth, anyway have decided to go and get a full face thread on Monday, talk and ask for some advise from the lady that does it (poor her) and then let it be and see how it goes... I left it for 4 weeks a month back but gave in and waxed it... out of all things us girls have to go through I think hair is the worst, so can't hide it :(

Nope, but mine isn't blonde. I used to let it grow out between friday night and monday morning if I wasn't planning to go anywhere, but I don't even really do that anymore because I've learned that the biggest person it bothers is me.

It might make you feel better to realize that the hairless woman is a total myth, maybe 10% don't have hair that's visible from a few feet away, but even my 4 year old has a very faint little mustache. This stupid idea that we can't be beautiful because we have to remove facial hair sometimes is really really annoying.

I had places where I waxed and where I didn't, the places where I didn't are now just as bad with the pokey spiky hairs as the places where I did wax. I'm sure this doesn't help you feel any better at all, but at least maybe you know that you are not the only one. My mom never waxed or anything and hers is spiky too-she is PCOS as well. Just a nasty part of the crap we have to go through I guess. Sorry and I hope someone out there has better info for you than I did. Maybe we'll both learn something-and I'm too afraid to stop and let mine grown now.

Dreaded side effect.... hair growth on face *vomit*. Before I started waxing many years ago it was long blonde peach fuzz on chin, neck, sides, lip etc, and i regret EVER doing it as the growth that comes in is still blonde (thank you god) but it looks PRICKLY and spiky *vomit* I hate this, I am so depressed over this lately I am thinking of just letting it be and letting it grow, I just hope I don't look like a monkey.....

QUESTION... anyone ever left their face hair and let it, well, grow out? Please make me feel better............
