did the p90x abripperx workout. it's really not as hard as i thought it'd be. and it wasn't very long either. pays to do situps and pushups regularly! I hope I get a "2-pack" soon.

the last workout is 120 second rests between sets
pushups 29-33-29-29-and over 40
rest 2 mins
situps 45-50-45-45 and at least 60
rest a day

after you rest that day, you should be able to self-test yourself to do the correct amount of pushups or situps with proper form. if you didn't quite make it, go back and redo the one youy can do until you make goal.

that is 10-12-8-8-over12 pushups. rest 90 seconds between sets.
then rest 2 minutes. do 15-18-15-15-over18 situps.

so after you finish the 1/4 m warm up;3/4 m jog; 1/4 mi fast walk; 3/4 mi jog; 1/4 mi walk,
you do 1/4 mi warmup, 1.25 and build up to your required miles; 1/4 mi
and then you be good to go for beginners.
after that, you are intermediate and you warm up 2.5 min, jog 3min at 60-70% effort, tempo pace at 80% effort and 2.5 min cool down. you increase the jog & tempo minutes until you are comfortable and go to advanced.
We can talk about that later.

basicallly you do 5 sets of pushups and situps. I am way out of shape, so I started with 6-9-6-6-17 situps and 7-12-7-7-18 pushups with one minute rests between each set. 2nd and 5th sets being more. Your total being the max you can do. Pretty soon, you will feel up to doing them all at once. I will have to look it up and give you a copy. Basically after 3 weeks, you should be past your goal of 50.
I am not true to military form. so I would have had to quit after the first set.

Thanks for the running tip! I can do 47 pushups in two minutes, and 43 situps in two minutes. 43 situps comes out to 50 points, but in order to pass, you have to do 50 (for my age).

Basically for fhe running, u warmup .25 miles, jog .25 miles, walk fast .25 miles, jog .25 miles, cool down .25 miles. U do fhis at least 3 days. Then u are up to 1.25 miles. Like work out mon, wed, fri, rest tues, thurs, saturday.
level 2, warm up .25, jog .5, walk fast .25, jog.25, cool down .25. Do this 3days.
level 3. Warm up .25, jog.5, walk fast .25, jog.5, cool down.25. 3days.
level 4. warm up .25, jog.75, walk fast.25, jog.5, cool down.25.
level 5, warm up.25, jog.75. walk fast.25, jog.75. cool down.25, etc.
Keep increasing the run part approx evedy 3 workouts. You should be good to go in a few months. Just increase when it gets too easy & you can go faster.

So, I'm a 25-year-old guy getting ready to enlist in the Army. I've requested some medical records that I'm waiting on, and I'm also waiting for my parents to mail me my diploma and birth certificate. (They've been holding on to those since I've moved repeatedly over the past few years.) I need to gain a lot of weight over the next few months for enlistment. About 7 for enlisting with a waiver, or 17 without. I'm also trying to get my running and situps up. I can barely make it through one mile, much less two, and I'm barely short on the situps. Any advice is very appreciated, as is encouragement. Thanks!
