I too am going to do the Distance Challenge. I did it 5 years ago, so I know it's possible! Hopefully, we can post on this site with helpful hints and hopeful words.

Yep, the Distance Challenge has an intense schedule, but it's really not so bad (except for the 10-mile Race for the Water, that one is notoriously ridiculous - weather, hills, yadayada, lol!). 3 weeks recovery in-between works out well.

Not a challenge I'd recommend for newbies, though; it helps to have the endurance and base mileage under your belt. Some of our folks have used the Challenge to prepare for the Austin Marathon - good "training" runs on the Challenge schedule!

WOW!! That schedule doesn't allow for a whole lot of recovery time between races (especially in mid Jan through Feb).

You go, girl! I mean, man!

The 3 day Komen event looks like a lot of fun too--good luck on your races!

Have a Sparktacular Day!

Yea, this is a great set of races to integrate into training for the ATT Marathon.

I will do some of these events but I might be running the Disney Marathon in January.

Thanks!

I would so love to do the DC, but it won't be this time around. On Nov 9th, I will be on the 3rd day of the Komen 3-day 60-miler in DFW.

Hope to do the DC 2009/2010. :o)
