So glad DST starts next Sunday. Looking forward to some evening rides.

I managed to get in one ride between snow snowstorms. Temperature 44 Degrees F

The fasted speed I could stand was only 24 mph. The wind chill was 28 Degrees F.

Hi Kathy,

You are doing great. Here is what a rail trail looks like in Colorado:

I have a great Fatbike that was a custom build by the Golden Bike Shop. However, the bike is like pedaling a bulldozer in deep snow.

It is quite nice of you to help fellow cyclists find great trails.

Thanks, Bruce

Weather has been cooperating for some good riding.

2-2: 40 miles
2-5: 20 miles (spin class)
2-8 28 miles
2-10 12 miles (spin class)
2-15 35 miles
2-16 41 miles

176 miles

Today, while riding, my group met up with 2 different couples visiting Fl from different parts of the country. They were wanting information about different rail trails in Fl. We are very fortunate here with number of places to ride. It was fun talking about places to ride and where they've ridden. I think this is one of the best things about riding--meeting people and talking about the riding we have in common.

Hi Kathy,

Congrats on the spinning class. That's a great way to keep in cycling shape.

I have my "old" 2016 Allez clamped into my Cascade Fluid Trainer inside my nice warm house.

I have a $1,000 bike clamped into a $500 trainer. Music helps pass the time.

In Colorado there is a over 18"of snow on the ground and the snow is still coming down. Temperature is minus 14 degrees F and it is windy. The good news is the humidity is low. The bad news? The weather we are having now can kill you! The danger is not as apparent as a tornado or hurricane, both of which I have experienced up close and personal.

In any adverse weather, stupidity can be deadly!

Take Care, Bruce

The winters in Fl are the reason I tolerate the heat and humidity in the summer. My biking time is still influenced by the short days, since I work 8 to 4:30. I try to ride Saturday and Sunday. I finally bit the bullet and started taking spinning classes 2 days a week. It's not soo bad with other people suffering with you. I quickly realized I didn't have to increase the resistance every time the instructor said to. But, I'm getting stronger, so, when DST starts in March, I'll be ready.

My goal is to ride Sat and Sun, 30 to 40 miles each day and spin 2 days a week.

Where I live in Colorado, February and March are snowy and cold! An occasional nice day in the 50 or 60 degrees F will jam bike paths and bike lanes with hardy cyclist not willing to wait for Spring! Colorado is tropical paradise compared to places in the Northeast or Midwest.

Please post your mileage goals and progress in this forum.

Goad luck and keep pedaling!
