Fabric Out 133

I added in the 12 yds used for Beaded Lanterns even though it still needs to be quilted. Getting it ready today. I sewed it about 2 1/2 yrs ago and I'm ready for it to be done.
I"m proud of myself. Went to two shops looking for oil. Got the oil and a spool of thread and left without buying any fabric even though there were plenty of bargains. Carol

I donated 2 yards to the church yesterday. More will be added in today after I finish my project. I still have new yardage I need to add in though so I am not doing well at all.

I've been going through stash and finding things I forgot about. Should I keep them or send it all to the Cresco Ladies in Iowa? Or cut it into squares? I found a bunch I could use for the Sewcialites for Fat Quarter Shop. Only one block a week so I could do that. Or I could cut it into 10 1/2" squares for the church. What to do what to do? Carol

You are working on that stash Bev. Carrie I was going through blue charms last night and had a really old pile for you. But then I thought, I dont want to send this old mess to Carrie. I need to look for something decent to send you. I really need to clean out messes and pitch it.
I have some 5" blue charms and some 2 1/2 by 5 inch strips that I had put into a quilt. I just keep thinking someone out to want these. I'm thinking maybe I should just cut them all into 2 1/2 by 5" size and save them for the next time I need that size. Anyone want them? All blues. Carol

Nancy, I bet those solids will be great in one quilt or add some spice to many quilts. I am liking solids once again. They were widely used in the early 90's when I first started quilting and then went out of favor! Quilting is fun because if you hang on to some things, they are bound to come back in style.
One of my first quilt mentors used to say, if you don't like a fabric, you have not cut it small enough! Often times, I find this true.

Yesterday in the mail a bundle of 12 fat quarters arrived that I purchased. They are solids in gorgeous colors, and the price/yard isn't too bad. I need some solids in my stash.

Great buy Amy! Our rummage sale did not have much yardage in it as we use it for our quilters.
And I took all the sheets for us as well. And 6 1/3 yds is not bad at 25% off. Carol

On Labor Day, a LQS had a 25% off on cut yardage - minimum 1 yard. I bought 6-1/3 yards.

Curiosity got the best of me yesterday. There was a fabric rummage sale within 2 miles of my house. I was the only one there at the time (I did not go when it started). I bought 11 yards of fabric for $30 and they were all background fabrics, mostly low volume that I was looking for. The quilt I'm making now uses 2-3 yards of that style.

Added in Rose backing. I just don't seem to be making a dent. One of my favorite shops is having her annual labor day sale but I am refraining from visiting. I've added so much lately its ridiculous.

My stash is +38.25 for the year. I'm working on a top so I won't count that until it is complete.

I forgot about the quilt sandwiches I finished putting together on Monday - I'll count them in September.

My stash is -43.5 yards for the year. I did not count any used last month because I only count fabric used when a top is completed, entirely finished or given away (sometimes I don't count this either). I probably won't have any out for September. I have lots to go on my current project.
