Jumping in a little late...but this is an area where I need some work!! And by some work, I mean, a LOT!!

Take time to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning every day
Exercise first thing in the morning every day
Or Both of the above!


April 1-12: No points--I have had a lot going on but have found this kind of stuff is going to be constant. I have to learn to let my exercise and healthy eating habits co-exist with it.

April 13: Healthy Breakfast! Wasn't hungry but happen to have some leftovers from what the kids were having. Just a simple piece of toast and a few pears made a difference.

April 14: Healthy Breakfast!

April 15: My usual breakfast of pretzels and lo-cal iced coffee is not super healthy, but I resisted the urge to get an egg McMuffin when I went for coffee. I literally ordered it and then changed my mind. For that I will take 1 point!

April 16: Ate my "usual" work day breakfast again so no points for a "healthy" one. But I started the morning with a glass of water

April 17: Nothing to report....same pretzels & coffee

April 18: Nothing to report...same pretzels & coffee

April 19: Healthy Breakfast for taking a low cal breakfast sandwich to make at work! I don't like how much frozen food I have been eating lately, but I think the caloric damage of restaurant/convenience food is far worse.

April 20: Healthy Breakfast (Best egg white omelette ever) and snuck in some exercise!

April 21: No breakfast but I did do some exercise. This challenge has reminded me of the ways I'm limited when it comes to morning workouts, but I learned what I CAN do--some strength exercises once the kids are settled with their breakfast.

April 22-30...followed the trend of the rest of the days this month...just some healthier frozen breakfast sandwiches where I could but not much else exciting to report. Morning are especially hectic for me and I'm not sure how I can improve it but I still know I need to try.

With my working 12 hour nights schedule it is hard to agree to all of these because my schedule varies so much from days to nights but I agree to
1) eat a healthy breakfast when I wake

2) exercise as soon as possible when I wake


April 01 - Ate portioned out bowl of cereal and cup of black coffee
Went for a walk as soon as possible

April 02 - Ate portioned out bowl of cereal and cup of black coffee
Had to drive all day so I was unable to exercise unless you count unpacking the car
when I got back to Vermont

April 03 - 2 eggs and 1/2 a honey wheat english muffin
Did day 1 of the couch to 5k from sparkpeople

4/1 I was up at 7:48 this morning. I had only a Fiber One bar because I am heading to the aquaticfitness center and I can't eat this early, makes my stomach upset. Going swimming. emoticon

4/2 I was up at 7:53 this morning. I can't eat that early in the morning, but I did eat breakfast later in the morning. I did exercise but not the first thing.

4/3 I was up late this morning, 9:15 I had a smoothie right away.

4/4 I was up at 6:56 this morning. I didn't eat until almost 10. I am not exercising today.

April 01 Up @ 5:30 am. Had a healthy breaky and walked w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog. Pretty sunrise!

April 02 Up @ 5:30 am. Had steel cuts oats w/berries then walked w/Mr. Spot. Sunny!

April 03 Up @ 5:30 am Cottage cheese w/berries. Walked w/Mr. Spot. Nice!

April 04 Up @ the usual time. Steel cut oats with 1/2 kiwi, walked w/Mr. Spot. NICE out!

April 05 Up @ 4 am (DH had early flight to TX :( VERY early breaky and walked w/Mr. Spot (he wasn't too thrilled with the earlier-than-usual walk time, but he saw some of his buddies. . . even at the crack of dark!) Walked an extra circuit around the neighborhood.

April 06 Up @ 5 am to walk w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog. then had breakfast (steel cut oats) and a cup of REAL coffee. No more today, though. Herbal tea and water for me.

April 07 Up @ 5:30 am. Walked w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog. Breakfast -- 1 egg, 1/2 English Muffin, kiwi fruit and a cup of REAL coffee. Water the rest of the day.

April 08 Up @ 5:30 am. Walked Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog before rain. Breakfast -- 1/2 cup steel cut oats with kiwi fruit. Hot lemon water, then 1 cup of real coffee. Water the rest of the day.

April 09 Up @ 5:30 am. Got a short walk in w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog before it started raining. Supposed to be like this till the weekend. ACK! Breakfast -- 1 egg poached, 1/2 slice English muffin, 1/2 kiwi. Yummo. Water, water, water.

April 10 TREADMILLED! Up @ 5 am as it was thundering, lightening and pouring! Eggs w/1/2 English muffin and 1/2 kiwi fruit. Lemon water.

April 11 Treadmilled. Up @ 5 am as again raining, lightening & thundering. UGH Oatmeal w/strawberries. Delish! WATER, WATER, WATER!

April 12 Up @ 5:30 am. Walked outside today before the drizzle started. Felt good. Strawberries (fresh) cut up into plain Greek yogurt. Really good. No sugar needed @ all. WATER WATER WATER! with all this rain feel like an inner tube needed in some spots!

April 13 Up @ 5:30 a,. Walked Spot. While walking it started SNOWING for crying out loud! Treadmilled. WATER WATER WATER 1 Whole Grain waffle (my own recipe). Needed that as I am just AARRGGHH with the weather! OH well. It'll change in due time.

April 14 Up @ 5:30 am Walked w/Spot briefly . . . snowed again!! AARRGGHH!! WATER WATER WATER. Poached egg with 1/2 a light crumpet. Delish! And a strawberry (huge!)

April 15 UP 5:30 am. Walked w/Spot . . . no precipitation! Hurray!! Had steel cut oats w/strawberries (hot on strawberries right now!) WATER all day today.

April 16 Up @ 5:30 am, walked Mr. Spot. Ran into lots of walkers since there was no precip! That was nice. Had a poached egg and 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/1/2 a kiwi. WATER as the beverage du jour.

April 17 Up early . . . DH off to D.C. Walked Mr. Spot before the rains . . . again! In line for up to 4 inches between today and Friday. sheesh! Feel like I need to get the blue prints for an Ark and start collecting poeple & animals 2 by 2! Breakfast: 1 kiwi w/1/2 c cottage cheese. Not real hungry. But I ate!

April 18 Up @ 5:30 am, as usual. No outdoor walking. Flooding everywhere. UGH Did have breaky (scrambled eggs w/broccoli and spinach). Treadmilled. Got those blue prints for the Ark. Lordy be! 3+ inches of rain and 2 more expected today. where's it gonna go???? Not sure, but with flooding all around, at least my home is dry . . . thank goodness.

April 19 Up @ 5:30 am. got a walk in w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog! Treat . . . actually saw glimmers of the sun! Puddles all around, but not nearly as extensive as I imagined it would be. PHEW. 1/2 cup steel cut oads w/strawberries. Yummo!

April 20 Up @ 5:30 am. Walked outdoors w/Mr. Spot and it is SUNNY! What a treat. Had an omelette w/peppers, onions and broccoli. Delish.

April 21 Up @ 5?30 am. Walked outdoors w/Mr. Spot. Parents coming for visit today. Breakfast steel cut oats w/kiiwi.

April 22 Up @ 5:30 am. Spot and I walked in the sunshine! Breakfast: steel cut oats w/blueberries & red raspberries.

April 23 Up @ 5:30 am. Spot and I walked outside, but no sun today . . . cloudy and more rain expected! ! Breakfast: steel cut oats w/blackberries & red raspberries.

April 24 Up @ 5:30 am. Spot and I walked outside. Breakfast . . . poached egg w/sauteed green pepper/celery/carrots.

April 25 Up @ 5:30 am. Spot and I walked outside. Breakfast . . . steel cut oats w/blackberries and red raspberries.

April 26 Up 2 5:30 am. Got a walk in with Mr. Spot before rain came. Breakfast poached egg, 1/2 crumpet and a strawberry. Water, water, water!

April 27 Wake up early. Take time to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning every day. Exercise first thing in the morning every day. DONE!

April 28 Up @ usual 5:30 am to get Mr. Spot out for his walkies . . . me too. Breakfast . . . 1 egg w/half an English Muffin (whole wheat) and strawberries. Water, water, water!

April 29 Up @ 5:30 am, out the door w/Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog. Sunny right now! Breakfast herbal tea, steel cut oats w/banana, blackberries. Sparky Monday.

April 30 Up @ 5:30 am. sun out but then clouded over adn started to drizzle, so lfinished up on the treadmill. Now the sun is out again! Breakfast: Cinnamon Chia Seed Pudding. Yummo!
