I'm getting a lot of feedback about this challenge, so I thought I might put up a "sample post" to show how it works. If everyone thinks it's just too much, then I'll have no problem taking the challenge down and trying to find something else. Let me know what you think!

So, with this challenge we're basically doing what we're supposed to do here at SP. The only difference is that when you post it for everyone to see, you're helping to keep yourself accountable for your actions. Don't worry about the "rest days." Either way you get 0 points if you don't workout.

Here is an example of how you would post:

1) water 8 cups – 5 pts
2) Calories: My range 1200-1550 – 1300 – 5 pts
3) Carbs: My range 163-236 – 150 – 0 pts (not within range)
4) PROTEIN: My range 60-127 – 80 – 5 pts
5) FATS: My range 32-56 – 42 – 5 pts
6)CARDIO 30 minutes – 5 pts
7)STRENGTH 3 exercises – 5 pts
8)POST BY 2 AM EST – 5 pts (this is to keep you posting every day!)

TOTAL POINTS: 35

To put it in simplest terms, you get 5 points each for staying within your calorie, carb, protein and fats ranges. Another 5 points each for at least 20 minutes of cardio and/or 3 strength training exercises, and 5 points for posting before 2am to keep yourself accountable.

You can get up to 40 points per day (1240 in a month). Challenge yourself to get the most points you possibly can!

Back to Basics Challenge:

This challenge is to keep us all accountable for the basics of our healthy lifestyle. Each time you fullfill one of the basics, you will get 5 points. You will find below a list of the basics we will be tracking, and the template to use when you post. When you post, copy and paste the template and put in your information.

PLEASE make sure that your Sparkpage, nutrition and fitness trackers are all 'public'. USE YOUR TRACKERS for this challenge or you will not be able to claim points.


BASICS:
1) 8-8 ounce/250 ml glasses water

6) 20 minutes cardio (3x week)

7) Strength exercises (3 exercises, 2 sets, 8 reps 3x week)
