Completed day 6 & day 7. My first week of this challenge was such a great success. I have enjoyed it, I am so very proud of myself and this week has been quite an accomplishment for me; since I am so busy with my 1st week at work and back to school. emoticon I have made it!!!

First week and a half finished. (I started early in case I fell behind.) The videos seem to be getting slightly more difficult as I do them the second time. Still committed. Let's see if I can keep this up as I go back to work this week.

I have started and stopped Spark people several times. This New Year, I am committed to something else, other than a number. I want enough strength, endurance, and flexibility to catapult my abilities as an ATS dancer into another orbit!

My director was sharing with me that the lady who created our dance form asks her performing troupe members to engage in endurance exercises and yoga. It makes sense why both would help immeasurably.

Ergo, my renewed focus!

I have identified roadblocks habits. First was just committing to getting up and moving. I work 80 hours a week, and when I physically allow myself down, I don't really want to get up. New habits include holding myself to endurance 3x a week instead of 5. Five is overwhelming right now. This is outside of my dancing.

Another is committing to brief 10-15 minute videos a day. This has been paired with waking up and promising to take care of myself first before the structure of the day. The spark people videos are PERFECT to get me in the right frame of mind.

Another roadblock has been food. I love food, and grow REALLY tired of the same ole healthy food that I know to eat. So I have been branching out with a new habit: finding new recipes healthy enough that it passes what I know I should eat. I also have paired this with cooking twice a week, and packaging preportioned amounts into the fridge and freezer. Now I have a growing variety of foods that taste SO MUCH BETTER than the frozen stuff at the store. I found tupperware and my culinary-school husband to be my best friends in this!

Those are my thoughts for the week. I feel go like a rocket!

"If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it."

Just finished the first week. I really like the 8 min cardio challenge and I did it everyday in addition to the video of the day. I have been good at tracking my food up until about 3 pm, I never finish off the day so I don't have an accurate picture of what I eat all day.
Just bought the 28 day boot camp video and I will be using that for my cardio on days that I don't walk the dogs enough. I lost two pounds this week.
I like that this challenge makes me more accountable for eating and exercise. Treasure what you measure. emoticon
Getting ready for week two! Best wishes to everyone on this challenge! emoticon

The day 7 core workout kicked my butt! But I got through it and I am looking forward to being able to do it better in the future! :)

Survived week one! I've been doing a lot of cardio even as I've been steadily gaining back my prior losses, but my eating was a mess and I tend to avoid ST like the plague. I lost over 7 lbs during week one, but I attribute that to cleaning up my eating. I was over my calories a few days, but not by a lot and always with healthy foods.

For those of you who are expecting results on the scale and not seeing them... if you're already within the healthy weight range you're not going to see a lot of scale movement quickly. Its annoying, but a fact of life. For the rest of you, if you're burning a lot more calories than you have in the past, you may need to eat more. I know it sounds crazy, but more than once I've had to increase my calories intake in order to lose. Remember, your body needs fuel! Now to continue cleaning up my own act...

Ann

I am so glad I joined this challenge. Week one went really well. I was surprised that I was able to do just about everything on the videos - with the exception of the triceps dips, which I substituted kickbacks for. I was even able to do the pushups - I couldn't go down very far (or I wouldn't be able to get back up) but I didn't think that I would be able to do them at all, so I was PROUD. Looking forward to seeing how well I am doing them in week 4!

After just 1 week I feel amazing. I am proud of myself for working out 7 days in a row. I did the 10min video for each day and 5 days I did 30 mins of cardio as well. I wasn't hard at all to fit it in. I had never tried the fitness videos on here before. I like them. I didn't dread working out. I will definitely be keeping this up.

I did not do nearly as well as I'd hoped this first week. I only did a few videos and added one more day to my cardio routine. I think my main issue is that by the time I get home from work, the LAST thing I want to do is turn on my computer, even for spark. Resolving to do better my 2nd week!

Hi, I'm new to the message board thing but I wanted to contribute. I stuck to a 1200 - 1300 calorie day (the correct protein, fiber, carbs, fats, dairy...), drank my water every day, gave up my wine for the week (even when going out with my girlfriends for an evening), did the fitness videos each day, did cardio most of the days...even 90 minutes of snowshoeing yesterday (my legs are killing me!!). With all this work I gained a pound. This is very discouraging! But, and this is a big BUTT (yes, pun intended) I only fit in one pair of my pants and very few of my tops so I have no option but to soldier on. I'm hoping this is a momentary issue and maybe next week I will loose two weeks worth of weight. If nothing else, maybe my body will shrink as my weight rises???? One can only hope. I would welcome any tips or opinions. Thanks for listening, my cyber weight loss buddies! Bonnie

Did 142 minutes of aerobics during week 1, but not sure I can check it off, since I only exercised three days instead of five. I did a couple of Coach Nicole's video workouts on Sunday, and a 60 minute workout on Wednesday and one on Saturday (Les Mills BodyPump--awesome workout). I tracked my nutrition only a couple of days, and my fitness on all days. And I lost two pounds (!) even though I blew my nutrition plan during the second half of the week. I have been following a two-day-a-week exercise plan since last August and don't really want to add too many extra days all at once. I guess I'll keep on my original track and only try harder to add a Monday workout this month. I guess if I can't get kudos for a daily workout, I can at least get satisfaction for maintaining a consistent schedule. Good habits are worth keeping.

My main purpose in joining this challenge is to help me stay on track with tracking my nutrition. I am not good at logging what I consume, even though I know how easy it is to forget and tell myself, "Oh it's okay, just this once." Then "just this once" turns into ice cream seven days in a row. Yikes! (Imagine me slapping my head right here!)

Anyway, I am going to do better during week 2! I will plan my meals and log them so I can't kid myself again (at least for the next week). emoticon

Well I had a very good 3 days of the 1st week but on day 4, I was too sick to continue I even missed Thurs and Fri of work. I was disappointed that I only made it 3 days but realized I couldn't do much about that but I do want to do this challenge. So I will start week 2 as my week 1 again tomorrow.

I'm happy to say I completed week one and it was a success! I tracked all of my food everyday (even the little tastes and bites I had on a food day) and exercised every day. I love the workout videos and have been adding some extra cardio on my own every day! This is exactly what I needed to "jumpstart" my new lifestyle!

I'm not losing weight, I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again.

Don't give up! You can do it! I didn't have a very productive first week but I'm going to start fresh this week. Did you drink enough water and stretch after exercising? If my husband goes for a long run, without drinking water and stretching, his legs cramp up for the rest of the night. Also, you may be gaining muscle which weighs more than fat which is great! Muscle weighs more but speeds up your metabolism and burns more fat! Why don't you try for one more week and don't work out so hard that you hurt yourself. I know you will feel better!

I am really glad I joined this challenge, it is what I needed to get going. Congratulations to everyone else that made it through first week. Thank you Nicole.

I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!! I am following a diet of
CALORIES 1,100 - 1,250 CARBS 35 - 152 FAT 22 - 55 PROTEIN 60 - 136
I have done all the videos and at least 30 min cardio. On Friday and Sat a did a lot more. My legs hurt and keep cramping, they jerk all the time and I am exhausted. I lost 1 pound. This is not worth it.

Even won the 500 Monthly Fitness Minutes trophy.

These short videos helped get me into the habit of getting moving every day. Once I had them done I was more in the mood to do some cardio. Feel better after just a week and excited to get the next round started. Haven't weighed in - will do that in the morning. I don't really like the scale and would rather just go with how I am feeling. Right now...I feel good!

I exercised everyday at least 30 to 40 minutes each day. I took 10000 each day. I also did yoga 4 days last week. So I had a strong start.

Finished Week One and I'm loving Coach Nicole's videos - especially the Arms workout.

First week done.. and it felt really good to get back into a daily workout routine. Like so many, I let exercise (and portion control!) slide the last 6 weeks of 2011.. this Jumpstart Challenge was just the thing to help get back on track.

Starting a week late but better late than never to get moving. My goals are to follow the videos and get in at least the minimum 30 mins of cardio each and everyday and to lose weight. :)

I finished week 1 but had to double up on video a couple of days to get on the Sunday start date. Today I both finished week 1 and started week 2. The best part for me was that I was able to finish all of the videos without much problem. I am actually looking forward to the coming week because I feel so good about not only the weight I lost over the past 6 months (38 pounds) but I feel stronger because of the walking/biking I have done. Adding the strength excercises what I really needed to do. I just have to remember to track things better.

Gained weight over holidays, let daily exercises slip.

This week I am closer to my final 2011 weight by losing 2 holiday pounds.
This week I successfully returned to treadmill walking and toning exercises!

Today is the last day for week one for me and I am so excited to be involved with this Spark challenge! Yesterday was the only day that I missed exercising but it was filled with two basketball games my grandson was in, and grocery shopping for the week. Today will be a two mile run and one hour of Zumba Toning to make up. My goal is to stay true to myself and consistent with my exercise and lose 60 pounds. This challenge is helping me to stay focused.

emoticon emoticon I did all the videos and cardio for the week. I had to double up on some days because of my schedule. Feel great and lost 3 pounds!!!! emoticon
I purchased Coach Nicole's 28 Day Boot Camp and started that yesterday. So my plan for this week is the 10 min workout videos, the 28 Day Bootcamp DVD AND when I can, walks with my furry friend emoticon .

Everyone have a blessed week and keep up the great work!!! Here's to an active and prosperous New Year emoticon

emoticon I was able to finish the week as I had planned ! But don't know if I will be able to move later today ! That pilates was one thing, but the ab's workout may have done me in! I can see why it is the last one for the week and then we start up with the easy one on the first of the week. Love this Challenge have had to get creative about the ab's work out. Did my very best, but I hope that by the end of the month I have a better handle on this workout ! Goal for the 2nd week to be able to do the videos, in a timely manner so that I don't have to double up again ! Wishing all the wonderful success of meeting your personal goals ! emoticon
