I agree with you both. I just wondered if anyone was using it to help them achieve their weight loss goals.

I do plan to incorporate what I know so far. I know there is no genie that will give me everything I want well, because, God is in control and its His and only his to dish out what he see's fit.

I wish everyone the best of luck and I'll try to post to this what info I learn and what works for me.

"Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " Jeremiah 29:11

I think the "success" is that you end up feeling more positive, looking for the positive and looking for things that will make you happy. So many people get caught up in a negativity cycle, and negative thinking breeds negative reinforcement.

As for if I think real hard to hit the lottery, I will hit the lottery - no, I don't believe LOA is as concrete as that.

I do believe in writing down my goals, that writing down goals makes them more likely to happen. Because it changes how you think about it - you put them out there and then subconsciously look for ways to meet the goal.

Feeling happy and energetic.

I read that book that popularized LOA - "The Secret". I also did much research online about it. I would be careful of going down that road. In my opinion, it is a successful money making campaign based on a few basic truths.

Goal setting, positive thinking, and FAITH are the core ideas the LOA is based on. All of which are promoted and encouraged by Sparkpeople (and myself!). Where the LOA gets me is that if things don't happen they always excuse it by saying "Oh well you didn't believe in it properly and truthfully". That is a cheap cop-out in my books. Also, if I wanted to will "I need a million dollars" how would that pan out without actually doing anything?

Again, I would encourage you consider setting your goals, pray (please excuse me if I am misreading your signature line), and have FAITH in Yourself and the Master Planner. Have you read The Spark? I am currently reading it, but it explains some really helpful ideas and the science behind goal setting really well that actually motivated me to start it all over again.

I'm just now learning more about LOA and I wonder if anyone has manifested any success by using it.
