What got you started?
I began the journey out of disappointment with my energy level and lack of self respect. I was tired of being tired and wanted more out of life.

How am I doing?
My weight loss progress has been in a holding pattern for about 3 months. The good news, I have not gained and I have continued working out and feel fantastic. (Including completing a life long goal of finishing a sprint distance triathlon.) The bad news, I have not held myself accountable to a level that will produce the weight loss I want. I am a little too "satisfied" with the current feeling of success and health I currently have. I need to generate some enthusiasm for how great I will feel when I am 40 pounds thinner.

What keeps me going?

The vague, far too vague, hope that I will feel even better at 135 pounds than I do now. I need to own that as fantastic as a feel now, it will be "double awesome" if I am at goal weight. I will be able to .... run a marathon, finish an Olympic distance triathlon, do a century ride, wear super fun, fashionable clothes and fun shoes or ???? I am having a hard time coming up with compelling reasons to move forward because I am feeling really great. That is a wonderful dilemma I suppose, but I truly would like to move on to goal weight.

Any ideas???

I saw my weight slowly going up, until I reached 150. I have always been small - 95 in high school, so that was it for me. I'm going slowly, but am learning how to eat and in a way I can continue for the rest of my life. Right now, I'm exercising more instead of cutting down calories.

I'm sorry I've been unable to join in the previous challenges. Time is limited for me for being online. But I read this challenge and wanted to tell what made me start taking better care of myself.
My daughter had her first baby almost 4 years ago. I knew then that I want to be around to watch him grow up and I want to be able to play with him as he's growing. That was my wake up call. I've come a long way in that time and I am now able to run after and play with both of my grandchildren and I LOVE it!! They keep me going and remind me often of where I used to be. If it hadn't been for them coming into the world, I would still be very unhealthy.
Thanks for the challenge. I hope to participate in more of these as I can.

Good Morning!

Thanks for participating in the challenge yesterday. I love reading about why you joined this team and what you like about it.

This morning I woke up thinking about this journey that I am on. I was reminiscing about why I am on it and what is motivating me to continue.

So along the theme of "getting to know me" (It's reflection time)

Your challenge for today:

1. Tell us what "Sparked" you to begin the journey to being fit, healthy and happy? What happened, what was said, what were you feeling or thinking........

2. What has motivated you to continue?

3. How are you currently doing?

That's it!

You can reply here or do a blog...

If you blog PLEASE come back and tell us so we can read it.

Have a Great day.
