When I did the strength training videos for the first time I was really very surprised at how weak I was. I couldn't do any of them and I had no idea that I had lost so much strength. So I don't look forward to doing any of them but now at least I have to face the truth, I have to do those workouts. I've gotten a lot better at the cardio, not much progress in the strength training but there is some. So I'm going to keep doing them.

Hello team members of week 1! I just combined day 1,2 and 3 for this week's workout. Since it is June 1st, I thought I would start at week one to easily keep track of which week I am working on. Go team!

My last day of week 1...... I am kicking B on the cardio, but doing horrible on the Videos....
I dont know WHY I can not motivate myself to do them??
I put in between 45-60 min of cardio every day, make sure I burn about 500 cals...
BUT.....I NEED TO DO THE VIDEOS!!!
That will be my Goal for next week!

Thank you. I know what you mean. Due to my health I wasnt able to do anything. Now am making improvements. I too started with 10mins of cardio and was huffing and puffing by the end. Slowly I moved to 15mins. Today I did 15mins in the morning and 15mins in the evening. I have days when I cant do anything. On good days I try.

Again emoticon for the encouragement. emoticon

Its better to make the movements smaller and slower if you have to but don't stop the video. If you are up to finishing the video now thats great but if you feel you can't just move slower and smaller. I am really out of shape but by completing the whole video I can see a lot of impovement. Just keep moving through to the end. emoticon

I finished week four and am starting over again. I am just now adding fifteen more minutes of cardio, couldn't do thirty and still can't, not while I'm carrying a whole extra person on my body. But I really am a lot better at the ten minute cardio and beginning to see a little improvement in the other videos. So just KEEP GOING!!!!! emoticon

I am on Day 5 of the first week. Since I havent been actively exercising for a long time and starting this challenge, I find some of the moves a little hard to do. I have to stop the video several times to do it. Today was the first time I was able to do without stopping. emoticon . I had promised myself that unless I am able to do week 1 properly I will not move on to Week 2. Now only 2 more days to go. emoticon

MissCris: If I remember right you scroll down to the bottom of your spark page to find where you can set it up. You can get to your spark page easily by clicking "my spark page" to the left of any of your posts. Also up at the top of your page is a spot to click for editing. In the middle is a spot for changing your daily status. Welcome to Spark People! Hope this helps! I've been on Spark People for over a month and I'm still finding my way around. If you haven't already, look up at the top of this page, put your mouse on "my trackers" to get to your nutrition tracker. This is the best tool ever for losing weight or controling weight. It will teach you everything!

Humm! I see that you don't have a Spark page yet. Look under "my trackers" and click on "start". emoticon emoticon I love emoticons!

I'm back again! After you get your start page (not the same as your spark page) look to the right of the bar and you will see "how to use this site". These will be directions for setting up your sparkpage and other stuff.

Hello Everyone!
I am very excited, I just started today! Did my first video, and thought it was a lot of fun. When I joined spark people, I realized that I can reach my goal, like tons have already use this tool, and am very excited to join. I think it's great you can speak with others, and have common goals. I need to lose about 71 pounds. And I need to lose about 56 pounds to be considered Healthy. I didn't realize how heavy I was until I went to the doctor's and she said I was considered Obese. And if I keep on eating and living a bad life style, I will eventually get Diabetes. I plan to finally reach my goals and become healthy again.

Happy anniversary! They say it's good to have a "eater day" every so often, keeps the body guessing and somehow that keeps your burn.... :-) I did 72 min and burned 653 cals. So I didn't feel bad about the little piece of ice cream I had!!

By no means do I starve myself, but I do stay within my range. Some days are just those days. When the body is drained.... I prefer to take it a little slower than to resort to food. Today is mothers day here in Sweden so the fav restaurant tonight. I better get my shoes and hit the trail so all workouts are done prior. That way I can just lay back and relax the rest of the day:-) have a great one!!

So eat already! The point is not to starve yourself thin, it is to improve the quality of what you are eating so that you achieve good nutrition without exceeding calorie limits. You don't have to go hungry and should not go hungry! emoticon

Take it very easy. Your feet, like mine, are probably not used to this and are very stiff. They will ease up gradually. I have arthritis in my big toes and can't bend like in the video, so I lean back very slowly and carefully and not to far. I can feel my feet getting a stretch.

Well I just signed up for this challenge, since I've been in such a slump lately. I have a sit-all-day-long job and it's driving me crazy. The more I sit, the more I want to sit, I've lost all motivation and desperately need a kick in the ever-growing bum. So, here I am taking this challenge in the hopes that I can finally start losing.

Here I go!

I did 4 weeks and lost 10 lbs. I did not follow the videos but did the card and my own exercise. These 4 weeks I will continue w my program but up it and add as this challenge requires. My goal is 10-15 lbs, but more so to see the bodily changes with inches lost. :-)

I signed up yesterday but I started today. I have done some in the past, but not for a few years. Since I have gotten lazy and out of the working out mode, I decided that I needed some structure to help me! I need to lose the 15 lbs I have gained over the course of this school year (I am a teacher and was moved to a different position in a different building and I haven't handled it well). I have started getting up and running the morning this week, which is awesome, but I just have to keep it up!! I can't start doing it then get lazy!! Hopefully this is the motivation that I need!

Carymi38 "My big change is my thoughts." That's it! You have got it exactly right! Why beat yourself up when there are plently of people willing to do it for you?! Guilt is a useless waste of time and drains your energy. So talk your self up, praise yourself for your accomplishments and if you slip up, don't waste time feeling guilty, just start again.

Carymi: That is the same thought process I am going through. I always wish and want to be healthier, yet I always push it back, Oh ill eat healthier tomorrow, or Ill start working this weekend and just keep pushing it back and back and never actually do it. I have finally reached a point where I can't push it back and longer or I will never change!
I need to put that quote some where, where I can read it everyday to keep me motivated!
Glad it helped you!

KBELLE I love your lil saying at the bottom of you post. Its funny thats what has been on my mind the past couple of days.

You know ppl Im really tired of feeling fat and Im really tired of beating myself up for the things I think about myself! Ive been thinking why am I wasting PRECIOUS time and ENERGY wishing I was fit and healthy????? WHY???? UGH Ten years from now if my thoughts do NOT change I will be still wishing I felt better about myself and probably heavier than I am now. SO my big change today is my thoughts! I will no longer punish myself! I instead will use the energy those thoughts take up and put them into action and I will work everyday towards a new me. INSIDE and OUT!

I dont know about the rest of you but I sure dont want to feel like this the rest of my life. I only have just one to live! Im going to make the best of it...NO EXCUSES!!!!

There are NEW YOU BOOTCAMP videos and BOOTCAMP WORKOUT. Both have 7 days that I have found. I think the BOOTCAMP WORKOUT videos are the original - so you need no equipment except barbells and chair. The NEW YOU first day video is kickboxing so you don't need equipment. The next 6 use a stability ball. There are so many other videos to choose from. I know it takes a while to find your way around. Good luck!!! Enjoy!!

Welcome CARYMI38, GILLHEATHER AND CHEECHEE8!!! emoticon

I should be starting week four but after being sick through weeks 2 and 3 I am now starting week two. Thats the great thing, you can start over! If you find the workouts too difficult take the movements way down and you will get through the workouts. If you're in great shape you can skip ahead (that's not me).

There's a lot of tools to learn here and they can be a little complicated but they are extremely helpful, especially your nutrition tracker. If you want to be held accountable you can allow others (friends) to see your tracking.

Can't say enough about the nutrition tracker. I thought my big problem was carbs (I have type two diabetes) but learned through the tracker that my enemy is fat. I was eating much more than I realized. Still having trouble getting it down but doing much better. So use that tracker! You can also track vitamins and minerals in your food.

We love to hear from new people and from "regulars" alike and are always ready to dispense advice (wanted and unwanted!). emoticon

well im not tracking my weight... just my mood, energy levels and inches. I did these videos this week and have to say that I did not like them. Some of the excersizes where painful and awkward or really old fashioned. So I looked at the target muscles in the videos and did workouts that worked better for me that targeted the same muscles. I am thrilled to say that I am up to being able to run a full mile and a half without walking at all. That is a HUGE step for me since I have asthma and very low endurance. I measured myself and I have lost a whole inch in my waist, a half inch in my hips and thigh, and quarter of an inch in my calf. Very exciting. Even more important I have more energy and my husband loves that beciase I am now doing housework. And my dogs are better behaved because of the daily runs and walks I am taking them on. All in all... I am doing good

All I can say Is Im here and Im going to start week one. If I can figure out everything I need to do and where to post etc. Im not used to a big group so its alot to learn for me. Any tips are much appreciated. I joined this challange because I need just that a CHALLENGE. I need something to be accountable for! If I skip out on my own then no one knows and I secretly get mad at myself. This is all out in the open and a commitement to all who reads these posts. With that said good luck to everyone and wish me luck figuring this all out :)

I finished week 1 and so am graduating to week 2.

I did the video each day and did additional exercise too. There was only one day I didn't make 30 minutes, but I made up for it the following day. I started Zumba classes last week which I enjoyed. It's only once a week but I have the Zumba Wii fit game so will try to get past the first "lesson" this week! I found it a lot easier to keep moving in a class than playing the game by myself... hopefully I can try the game again this week.

Good luck everyone - see you in week 2! You CAN do this!

After feeding the big eyes I am sorry to say I did nothing: no exercise, no dishes, no laundry, nothing. Does watching dancing with the stars count as excercise?

Determined to get my energy back and get back into it, I did day1 and day2 this morning. I am so appalling weak at the abs workout I have decided to do it everyday. Now if I do day1 and day3 after work tonight I will catch up toning, still behind ten minutes on cardio.

Had a Donnon all natural yogurt for breakfast. The info on the carton looks scary but when I tracked it, happy to say it was within all of the limits. Oops, forgot to track coffeemate. Gotta go do it. emoticon

Went back to work today. Grocery shopped after work and pulled weeds for ten-fifteen minutes. To tired to exercise tonight. I did ten minute cardio this morning before work, planned to do another ten minutes and day two video but I'm having trouble finding the energy. I will at least do the strength training. Cats are looking at me, wondering when I'm going to feed them. emoticon

Just finished my days 5 & 6 videos.... yesterday was a write off I just did not want to do anything other than go to work and come home and watch the office and play sims lol
but today I caught up with my videos plus 2 extra free ones i found and i vacuumed our house for when my parents get home so i think thats a pretty decent catch up workout.
I have the zumba fitness game but for kinect and I think it is fabulous! Zumba is perfect cardio and does not even feel like a work out. I work my heart rate monitor to an hour long class and burned 560 calories!
Keep up the good work everyone!

Congrats on taking that first step. I started yesterday with the cardio kickboxing. Remember every little bit helps. if you have to break that 30 min cardio into 10 minutes that still counts too. i woke up 1/2 hour early to do the day 2 video. Made myself but I did it. :) No onto the 30 minute cardio for tonight. Gotta keep it fun. Good luck to you on your first week.

I lost 5 pounds this week! I am so proud:) My favorite way to get a good cardio workout is to play zumba fitness on my wii. It is so fun, and you burn a ton of calories in a small amount of time. I only lasted 20 minutes so far. I'm going to see if I can last for 30 minutes this week. I still need to work on strength training; I have not done any strength training yet. I'm looking forward to having a good looking, slim, healthy body again.:) Only 30 more pounds to lose.
