Tomorrow will be my last day for week 1 and boy! The videos this week have proven to me that I definitely need to continue working on strength training! I love the motivation that this challenge has given me though, to keep exercising each day regardless of whether I feel like it or not. I can't wait to see how I do on the second go around of each video.

Live everyday as if it's your last!

Hey everyone!!! Today will be Day 1 for me....I am excited about viewing the videos and adding cardio and strength training, but a little nervous about having to make modifications to some of the exercises. I am having hip arthroscopy in about 2 1/2 weeks, so I can't do any high-impact stuff. I am praying, once I recover from surgery, that I will be able to find a good cardio exercise (other than running) that will keep me healthy. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

I have done day 1 & 2. I am looking to improve my consistency so this is a great challenge for me. I am hoping to be 5-6 lbs lighter by the end of the challenge.

Day 1 was a success and I'm looking forward to Day 2! Hoping I can kick these cold symptoms to the curb, as well. Ugh.

My goals are consistent exercise, and maybe to tighten up and tone (like I've wanted to for YEARS) through this challenge.

Good luck to everyone!! emoticon

This challenge came at the perfect time for me... I am rechallenging myself for the month of May to really focus on the healthy lifestyle... so what better than to add a bootcamp challenge to motivate me more. So this month I want to get back to regular ST and cardio. I am also goign to get back to tracking everything I eat... So May should be a fabulous Spark month for me!

HI everyone! Today is day one for me and I plan on taking at least 3 classes at the gym this week( cardio, strength training, and kettlebell) and get on my treadmill the other 3 days. I plan on taking one day off a week. The hardest part for me will be the diet. I do great for breakfast and lunch but it seems I get off tack when I get home from work :(

Never a failure...Always a lesson...

D'oh. I just noticed the announcement for this challenge today... A day late, but nothing short. This is a four week challenge and there are still more than four weeks left in the month. Whew! LOL

I've been watching my eating closely and exercising well, but more or less haphazardly, for the last four weeks, and I have already seen some very nice changes: dropped 13 pounds, have WAY more energy, lowered my occurrence of migraines, and feel like my joints are "lubricated" instead of thick and stiff.

I've joined this challenge mainly to work on my exercise consistency. You know, try to make it a daily habit, not just a "when I perceive there's time" thing. I believe there's pretty much ALWAYS time, and I've gotta beat those loud rationalization voices ("Aw, c'mon, you're losing weight and feelin' great... you can skip one day!") down to a barely audible, easily ignorable, whisper.

Let's go, Team!!!

KISS! Keep It Simple, Sweeties!

I joined this challenge because spring is the best time for me to be active. I want to drop 20lbs by July 8 for my 20 year reunion and I thought this would be a good place to get a good jump start.

Hello, my goal is to do strength training and also loose weight during a very busy month for me. I don't always do as well when I am away from home and especially camping. I'm just about 1/2 way for my weight goal and have not had the extreme focus on my journal and it shows. Wish me success :) I wish all you success too!

I am joining this challenge because I need something to get me moving and motivated.

I started SP at the beginning of August last year and did fairly well for about 4 months. I'm not really sure what happened after that...I just fizzled out I guess. I kept walking--even through the snow and cold--but my eating was horrible. I can't continue on like this...I've got to find something to give me my Spark back...and I'm hoping this will be it.

My goals for the next 4 weeks are: 1) to follow the Challenge as prescribed (1 video/day, cardio 5x/week--starting today!); 2) get my eating under control (which means dumping the junk food and picking up the veggies!); 3) to (hopefully) lose at least 2lbs each week of the challenge.

I haven't done very well with challenges before, but I'm confident that I'll make it through this one!

Wishing the best for all of you!

I can't wait to see this tracker thingy start moving...in the right direction!

Did 10 minutes for SP 6-Minutes Butt-blasting Video (Week 1 Day 6) and about 2 hours later, did 12 minutes of jumping rope 18 sets of 40 spins. Nicely sweaty, glowy skin, haha.

Today is day 2 for me. I did a 2 mile run yesterday (pain free! HUGE for me since I am battling ITBS) and did the Cardio Kickboxing workout.
I start Insanity today... as well as continuing my M-W-F weight training... and will do the crunchless core workout on my lunch break at work!
I hope to see BIG changes in my body in May!
Week 1 of this challenge is going to help me jump start that!

I'm here to try to break through this darned PLATEAU!! Today is my Day 1 of Week 1, and I COMPLETELY forgot to do the video ALREADY! I won't let this defeat me, though. It IS too late at night to do it now, so I will do Days 1 & 2 tomorrow RIGHT AWAY, so I don't forget.

Over the next four weeks, I really hope to lose half of my weight for the Spring 5% Challenge (5 lbs - total goal is 10 lbs by July 2nd). I'm going to work hard and really sweat for it! =)

Hey all,

My goals for this week are just to get my calorie burn in every day, keep my stress level down with working full time and being in a full-time Master's program, and keep an eye on my calories without depriving myself.

I will be turning 29 on June 10 so I want my last year in my 20's to be my fittest and healthiest year ever, and this is my last challenge before that starts.

go May!
T

My greatest fear is that I'll look back on my life and wonder what I did with it.

My goals for this month are to find a way to finish every single workout every day and lose a pants size.

I just did day 1's video a few minutes ago and learned that I am not anywhere near as coordinated as I thought I was.

I joined this boot camp because although I've been following a fitness plan for three years, somewhat but not perfectly consistently, I've hit a fitness plateau. I'm four weeks away from (mostly) running my second marathon. The weight loss has levelled out, and my speed has as well.

I've been thinking about shaking things up fitness-wise to get things moving again. I don't belong to a gym. It's not in my budget, and if I'm going to be honest about it, it's not something that I would keep up with after the first few months. That's the one thing I love about running. I can do it any time, any where.

I skipped the day one video. Why? Because I ran 30k (19 mi) yesterday, and today is my rest day. I'll make it up tomorrow.

So, here's to moving out of my comfort zone and into a different fitness zone!

Good luck to all!

Shanna

just did the video. It was fun! a little hard to do infront of my computer but it will work! I am here to get the baby weight off and more! I had my last child a year ago and with her birth came a life threating complication (amniotic fluid emoblism and DIC) that put me in a coma for a week with a total of 2weeks in the hospital. I had a long recovery and thankfully I am for the most part back to normal. I have wanted to lose weight for a while but having 3 kids in 4years made it a little hard. So here I am! my goal is 8 lbs in 4 weeks. week one look out here I come!!

I felt very uncoordinated too, but I just kept moving and keeping up as best as I could. Your marching in place at least had you moving. Maybe you could just add a little arm movement along with it. Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect. Just hang in there.

Wise choices each day will get me where I want to be.

Hi,

My name is Tiffany and I'm 25 years old. I joined this challenge because I'm sick and tired of sitting around on my butt and not losing this weight. I've said over and over again that I'd lose this weight, and made countless attempts...and I'm still at the weight that I'd said that I'd never be at. It's time that I get up off my butt and actually do something about it! I've joined this challenge, as I'm hoping that this will make me more accountable and active.

Day 1 wasn't so bad. The video was actually really fun! I'm thinking that I'll walk for my 5 days of cardio. I enjoy walking and I'd like to take that slow as I've injured my back a few months ago. This is actually the first time I've exercised since then. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Good luck to all! We can do this!

-Tiffany

Did half of day 1 video. Someone has another think coming if they think a 65 year old woman can do this. There's no way I can do both feet and arms together. And I can't jump even over a cord--there's no way I can do a jumping jack. I did it side to side with one arm but it confuses me when I add the arms so most of the 5 min. was spent gently marching in place. Looks like--AGAIN!--I won't be able to do the exercises.

Completed day 1 video in front of my computer, again not much space but I discovered to my chagrin that it has been centuries since my ankles supported a jump and I can tell you my left ankle didn't appreciate the experience! Hmm, I'll have to coax myself into jumping jack mode. Otherwise it wasn't too strenuous and I didn't faint as expected. Cool! I'm looking forward to day 2!

I'm still looking around this group, but I just got home a while ago from a 33 minute walk with my family pushing my daughter in a stroller. So far, a good start to May. And I think this bootcamp is the motivation and support I need to get back into the swing of things with exercise after giving birth a couple months ago.
