I'm here because I want to see how effective bootcamps are! I have been trying to get into them in the past without much success, so here is a new fresh start with something that looks positive and fun. It beats biking on the stationary bike, running on the elliptical, and sometimes being bored to tears doing certain unexciting routines. My reward will hopefully be toning up and trimming down my weight.

Getting into the gym is sometimes a little too difficult because I blow it off, but I want something I can hold myself accountable to and do at home or when I'm abroad without any limits. This seems to be a great way to do it! I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to manage to do the workout videos though at home; I'll probably have to plug my laptop in near the TV.

Surprisingly, I was able to do the day 1 video with the adaptations Coach Nicole recommended.

I joined to kick-start myself back into daily exercise. I've been off due to reinjuring my lower back and hip. I need to get going again. And, challenges seem to motivate me. Glad to be here. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I do seem to have the ability to complete challenges, so hoping this will help me break my plateau and gain strength. I am older and struggling with ill health, so may have to adapt the exercises a bit, but I intend to do everything to the best of my ability. Looking forward to improved strength and endurance and less flabby arms. I want to be in shape to paddle the kayak this summer.

Hello,
I have signed up for challenges before, but never would complete or even start the challenge. I am very determined to start and complete this challenge do to the fact that I have gained all the 40 pounds back plus some. Not very happy right now. I am slipping into a depression and it is affecting my family and friends. So I know I need to do something about my weight before it gets worse. Not sure what to expect in the next weeks, but I am looking forward to it.

One pound at a time!

After almost 18 months of SP success, I'm struggling with some extra stress that will last another couple of months. Rather than get trapped in old unhealthy patterns, I'm going to trust Coach Nicole to do what she's done before--get me fired up and confident. Her bootcamps have worked for me in the past and I know this one will, too. emoticon

Kareybear1 - If you have a smartphone, you can download the SP app for free, and it makes it really easy to track all of your nutrition. Or you can carry around a little notebook to log your food intake, and enter it in after the kids have gone to bed. I actually do both so I don't forget anything! =)

Hi All,
I already do the cardio 7 days a week, but I am really bad about the strengthening and toning exercises and I have been working really hard to get back to them. I was hoping that this will give me the motivation to do it. I recently got two new Jillian DVD's and she is killing me. Maybe this is a good way to start.

I joined the Spark Challenge to keep me going with my weight loss. My goal for this challenge is to drop 5 lbs or more safely and do all the exercise videos. I have found I like the different challenges out there for a change in what i'm currently doing.

I just joined today because I wanted to mix up my exercise so I don't get bored and want some motivation as well. I really hope this make it fun for me to keep at it.
I will keep you posted how the exercises are so far.
I did 10 minute pilate this morning but will do what schedule exercise is for the day. I am still discourage with nutrition logging because it takes so much time and I have chores and kids to take care of.

Hey Bootcampers!
I'm excited about this challenge. I've been tracking my calories pretty faithfully since early January, but I feel like I've kind of fallen off the wagon with both workouts and calorie tracking. Hopefully this challenge will help me get back on track.

Hello

I'm here for motivation and to stay on track. I am not setting a goal amount of weight to lose during these four weeks. I just hope to lose weight. I don't care of at what pace. I will work out doing only 10-minute workouts at a time because I have my 5 month old son to take care of. If I don't feel like i have done enough for the day then I will add more 10 minute workouts. I already finished day 1 video. It was pretty fun I am planning on doing it again when i'm finished washing clothes.

I am doing this because I am tired of being embarrassed by my body. I have skinny arms and legs (from knees down) I hide under large t-shirts and I miss dressing nice. I am a single mom of four kids and find it hard to stay motivated for myself because everything I do revolves around them, and its exhausting. I am going to try to work out on my lunch's and look into a gym that has daycare (but that gets spendy) I want to be able to shop for nice clothes, Its hard to find clothes that fit my shape. I'm hoping this team is the motivation I need!!! emoticon

Hi everybody, I am here to get me kickstarted again. I am off on vacation at the first week of June and want to not feel too odd on the beach. I know I am not going to get anywhere close to my ideal weight by then, but hopefully a few less "jiggly" bits to hang out of my swim suit!
I also want to get back in the habit, and figure out how to keep at it when I travel which is about once a month. I have a 4 year old son that I need to be able to keep up with!
My cardio will be doing the C25K process. I am at week 2 day 2 and starting to dread the next week!

Good luck to everybody

Much like MJOROUR, I'm also here for some motivation. I've been battling some ankle injuries in recent weeks and I'm hoping to start anew in May to get back to exercising and firing on all cylinders. I've never done a challenge before but I am excited about this opportunity!

I am doing this because I need motivation. A challenge usually helps me to stick to a goal. I like this one because it is one month at a time. Hopefully, this will get me into the habit again. I SO need help to stay motivated!!

I am doing this because I have slowly been losing weight since August, but I would like to pick up the pace a bit. I just got back from vacation and being sick, so yesterday was the first time in 2 weeks I have worked out and tracked my food. I figure joining this team and the goals would be a good way to get me motivated and also get me in better shape for the Warrior Dash in July and the half marathon I am doing in August. Oh, and I'd love to be confident enough to get into a swimsuit this summer!!

Two of our local SP teams are starting a fitness challenge next month and I'm closing in on a major weight loss goal. I thought this challenge would help with both of those efforts. I really love the 10 minute videos because it dispels the myth that you need long stretches of uninterrupted time to work out. I woke up late, but I still had time to do the Day 1 video this morning via YouTube on my cell phone in the bathroom before showering.

I am starting this today! I am working on my last few pounds and I think this will really help me get to my goal weight. My doctor has me watching what I eat very closely and he has told me to make sure that I am not drinking all my calories. It is helping alot. I am tracking everything and I am going to make me a workout plan in a bit. I have a 5K on Sunday morning @ 6:40 a.m.-I am sooooo ready!!!!

I am here because I am trying to do as much as I can to get toned up and in shape. I want to be able to wear at least my bathing suit top when I am out at Silver Lake Sand Dunes riding my quad. When its hot out, riding in a t-shirt just sucks...and a tank, well...I am not fond of the funky tan lines I get. That and I don't like the way I feel when I see girls that can wear a bathing suit and not feel like everyone is staring at them for all the wrong reasons!

I've done several other SP Bootcamp series and always enjoyed them! I'm currently doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and love it. I have about 30 days until I see DBF again (he lives in Canada, I live in US) and my goal is always to look just a little bit better next time he sees me lol! :-)

I've been racking my brain on ways to excercise with a 2-and-4-year-old in the house, and this challenge hit me like a ton of bricks. Thanks for putting up this challenge and making it so easy to follow, Spark!

I've been doing yoga every other day for the past year and a half. I haven't lost pounds, but I've lost two dress sizes. The doctor says I need to lose 10 lbs for my cholesterol, so here I am. If I lose ten pounds, I'd be the same weight I was for my wedding 10 years ago. :)

In the last year we had some personal difficulties and I quickly gained 16 lbs since the last time I blogged on SPARK. I joined Nutrisystem as I needed help with my food choices. I have lost 20 lbs since January without adding the exercise. Now it is time for me to add the exercise. A month ago I found all of my bands and hand weights, I found my 'step' apparatus, cleaned everything up and put them in an accessible place. I bought a set of 'work-out' clothes and tennis shoes. An old-fashioned stationary bike was left in the basement of the house we rent, so I may even clean that up and bring it up to my office (I haven't done that yet). I put the SPARK exercise videos into my 'favorites' on the PC. However, I have not started yet.

My first goal, with this challenge, is to actually start the exercise program. This challenge is the boost I need to get 'fit'.

My second goal is to get more energy and desire to get out and do things. (The depression I went through put me into a stupor where I only sat, laid down, ate, and slept.) I am slowly finding a desire to do something more than just sit in front of the TV.

My third goal is to get my bike out of the garage, fill the tires, clean up the bike and start using the wonderful bike trails we have near our home.

My fourth goal is to get back down to a size 12 by the end of summer

I have been on and off, and on and off, Spark People for a couple of years. Since last August, I have been mostly on. Since Feb or Mar I have been more on than ever. I have been tracking my food for the last couple of weeks. On the 26th of Apr I threw my back out BIG time which prevented me from getting physical. It is SO much better now, thanks to my chiro (not all are quacks! LOL). I still need to watch what I do and listen to my body, but am free and clear to do what I need to do. I just struggle with the discipline of sticking with it.

I have a total of about 40 pounds to meet my goal weight. I haven't actually given myself a 'deadline', because every other time I do, I fail. I am all about learning a new healthy lifestyle and incorporating more whole foods into my diet. I have done pretty well with this over the last few weeks and lost 2 lbs in the first serious week! I would like to lose 2lbs EVERY week. At that rate, I would only need 20 weeks to accomplish my goal. :)

I have all the equipment I need to get started and I am actually excited about it! I just need to remind myself to check in with the team every day! Feel free to post a reminder on my sparkpage! emoticon

Oh dear, so sorry for the novel! I just have so much going through my head right now! I'll shut up and grab my resistance bands and get started!

I need accountability! I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine! (a little lower...to the left... yeah. RIGHT THERE.) LOL!

Hello everyone! I'm going on holiday to Ibiza for the first time this summer and I bought myself a lovely bikini at the weekend which is a size down and I can fit into, wooh! However, i don't think my body is anywhere near bikini ready yet and I'm in a bit of a rut with my workouts to be honest, so I'm hoping this bootcamp will give me the kick up the bum that I need! I'm excited to get going and see what the results (with a lot of healthy eating) will be! woooh, go team :)

I have 2 conventions to attend in May and I really just want to feel good while I'm walking around and meeting people. 12-15 pounds would be great. I'm trying to ride my bike more. Yesterday my son and I rode 5 miles round-trip to the Y and back.

Hi All! I have been a member of SP for several months but my schedule has been erratic to say the least, partly because of travel and partly because of other commitments and poor planning! I really want to get back into shape so I can continue to do all the things I love to do. Just got back from a 9-day vacation where we walked literally all day long with very few breaks. We had 1 day out of 9 that we relaxed and did nothing! And by the end of that time I was feeling so much better. Even though we ate healthy, I did not lose any weight but I could tell I was less bloated and my pants fit better. So, while I have momentum going, I want to start a good cycle this week and continue it through our travels again for the next month. I really want to be in good shape when we go to NYC in June and home for a visit to TX in July. I enjoy Coach Nicole's videos (wish they were 30 minutes though) and will also take my Beach Body videos with me on this next trip! Thanks for all the support.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Good Day Everyone.....I'm here for the beer!!! Just kidding. I have had some injuries and need to work out smarter. (collapsed arch and I fell on my hand and severely hurt it, just shy of a break, while learning how to run the "pose" method of running due to aforementioned collapsed arch). Its all good though. Thanks for being here for us.

Sallie

I just joined Spark last week, and have been pretty good at tracking food (the past two days have lapsed...Easter is bad. emoticon And good at tracking fitness. I would like to get in better shape for a wedding (three weeks away) and after that to truly get in shape again--something I have not been since I had my first child 23 years ago. I've lost weight, but not been in shape.

Hi. I've been faithful to SP since last August. I've been counting down the days to our vacation. Only 29 more days to go! I'm always looking for something to change things up, and starting this 4-week program will help to keep my workouts interesting. It's my final push before the vacation.
My vacation is not my SP end-date, though. I know there will be other events that I'll want to look forward to. I'll be working hard until I reach my goal.

I did Day 1 workout this morning on top of a 30 minute aerobics workout. I did weights yesterday so I'm glad there were no weights in today's workout.

I feel it is important to get healthy fit and toned at my age (not telling here :-) LOL!). I have been working hard to watch what I eat and drink. So far, I haven't had one diet soda and mocha for more than 40 days. I just have to give up Easter candy now. Today, I am going to leave candy at my ex's so I don't have to look at them.

I have worked out a lot almost daily. I do Zumba, Leslie Sansone DVD, and swimming. If I don't exercise one day, then I try to keep my body moving by doing the chores around the house or finding something to do to stay away from the chair and couch. I am already addicted to working out. emoticon

I have no problem getting in 30 minutes of cardio work out 5 times a week - I work out on my lunch break at work. Its these workout videos that are gonna get me - how important are they to completing the goals? I basically hate work out videos :-/

This is a good challenge to keep me going on my goal to work out on my lunch break ( week 4!) as well as remind me to start tracking my food.
