I have seen a few episodes but then lost track of it. I will eventually go back and try to pick it up On Demand.

DSD - I saw the letter and it was partly what I was referring to :)

I will admit though that I'm not watching it deliberately at all anymore. If I catch it, I watch it but the characters and story are beginning to truly let me down.

I have heard that it was picked up for a second season though.

I've just watched the first 2 episodes on Amazon...not bad at all. I read the book awhile ago, but I don't remember all of the details to see where the TV show differs, but so far it is pretty good. This book was the one that started me liking his writing again; there was a period where I just couldn't get into any of his work.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised, usually the TV adaptations of his work are pretty bad (Molly Ringwald in The Stand...need I say more?).

Original SW on 1/1/11 - 204.4 lbs.
Original GW on 9/1/11 - 134.5 lbs
Original GOAL ACHIEVED! 70 lbs. banished!

Time zone: EST

New SW on 1/1/19 - 204, back to the very beginning
New GW by 12/31/20 - 135

Mind the Gap! between what we know we should do and what we actually choose to do.

Here is his open letter. It's really quite well done, actually.

Julie... there was a really great piece by King last week, talking about the differences between the book and the show. There are MAJOR differences, and he seems ok with it. He says that this is pretty much just a different version of his story. An "alternate universe". He zigged.. the tv movie zagged. He's ok with it (and I'm sure was paid a truckload of money) but said that anyone who loved his story can just pick up the book and read it again. All his characters are right there waiting. It was an interesting spin.

I did watch it and thought it was decent enough to give it a chance for a few more episodes. I've read the book and I'm glad they didn't make it into a 2 hours movie. It's as big as The Stand and needs more time for it to be told.

I have heard that many of the aspects from the book to the series are going to change which is something I'm somewhat looking forward to, Sometimes when you've read the book and you know the story, it's hard to see things changed especially when it's a surprise. Knowing htat going in, I'm able to enjoy both emoticon

We tried to watch it last night, but had surprise guests. Maybe tonight....

I watched the first episode last night on On Demand, we missed the original airing.
It was pretty good. I haven't been a fan of some previous made-for-tv versions of his stories, but this one held my interest and didn't suffer from TOO much cheesy acting.

Check it out if you can.

I intended to watch the first episode, but never got to it. I think it's available free online tho.

Anyone been watching the miniseries on CBS? I've liked most of the other King adaptations.
