Your yogurt is a probiotic and so is sauerkraut, I wouldn't think you would have any problem finding those. There is a spark team called the 17 day diet which is filled with all kinds of knowledge. The link should be on my spark page.

Please forgive the double posts...but I just read the other posts and thought they might like to hear about the diet. In a nut shell: You eat as much as you want of fish, and chicken (without skin) and these should be broiled, steamed, not fried. There are certain "cleansing vegies" that you can have...Broccoli, Green Beans, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Artichokes (although, I haven't ever ate one of these), Cauliflower, ....many others! You shouldn't eat potatoes.
You get to eat 2 fruit servings a day...before 2 pm.
And you should eat 2 probiotic servings....like plain yogurt.
You can't eat mayo...but just about anything else...mustard, salsa, etc.
Oh...the author writes that every morning, you should drink 1 cup of warm water with 1/2 a lemon squeezed into it. (Then drink 7 more cups of plain water, daily.)
I suggest that you check it out from the library...and see if it's for you, then buy the book. There are some yummy recipes provided!

Hi Everyone! I checked out the book from the library, and have read most of it. I didn't know if I would try it when I first heard about it. Now, I think I am going to start this as soon as possible. One question...my husband likes to eat out on the weekends....do you have any tips about how I could eat at restaurants on this diet? I guess I could order grilled or baked chicken or fish...and ask that my vegies be steamed....any other suggestions?

Also, I live in a rural area, and many of the probiotics aren't available at my stores. Does anyone have substitutes that might work, that would be easily found. (I'd have to travel 50 miles to visit a health food store.)
Thanks!

I'm on my 2nd round day 7 cycle 1 and I have lost 30 pounds. It really is working for me but my husband only dropped 5 pounds, so he really isn't following the plan this second time around.

I have been on this plan for 19 day now. I love it. The first cycle I lost 7.4 pounds. Less then the book said but he also said if you don't cheat at all and I cheated a little bit on 2 days. If you have any questions about this plan, just ask me.

My feelings about this is if it gets you started what difference does it make. YOu can do anything for 17 days.

It's a book with several cycles designed to change what you are doing and "confusion" your metabolism to help with weight loss. I don't have the book though so not sure what all it involves and what types of food.

Has anyone tried this diet or are you currently following it? I saw Dr. Phil had it on his show and approves of it.
