Hello,

I read that working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will provide the best results. There are times I challenge myself to workout in the morning and when I do have a lots of energy throughout the day however I prefer to workout during lunch and in the evenings.

Keep God First and all else follows.

Stay strong and God Bless!

TMI!

Although I agree, it is personal preference when you work out. I tend to get that urge to do so around 4 in the afternoon. I think I am too busy getting ready for work in the morning (teacher) that I just can't do the working out. I also do like to sleep as long as I can before getting ready for work. This year having moved 20 miles further away from my school (just got married) I know I won't be waking early to work out but just to make up that time dif.

I find eating before working out doesn't really bother me, but that after I don't want to eat so I do eat something minimal like yogurt or oatmeal.

Keep on working at it...you look great in that picture.

I just want to say that I am not any type of expert!

And I know many people do many different things, but here is my advice.

DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

In other words, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Some people are convinced that working out first is the way to do it. Others will criticize doing it that way.

Personally, I need to jump start my metabolism first thing in the morning. And that means eating. If it is a day where I'm not exercising I eat a 250-350 calorie high-protein breakfast. If I am going to be exercising, I have a small breakfast of about 100 calories (a vitamuffin, a small banana). Then exercise. Then eat my 250-350 calorie "second breakfast."

I can not exercise on an empty stomach. It makes me nauseous. But I don't exercise on a full stomach either. That's why I eat something small and although it's TMI, I always wait to exercise until after I've had my morning BM. Otherwise, I'll be cramping too much to get any work done.

Whether it's exercise or food, you have to do what has shown success for you in the past. People swear by different things because different things work for different people.

Do what works for you.

Ok, I think I'm done repeating myself. =)

Hi all,
I need to know if I am wasting time by exercising in the morning before I have eatten breakfast. I usually get up at 5:30 am so that I will have time to get 30 minutes exercise in before work. I need to leave for work by 7:15. I don't get off from work until 5pm and three days a week I go to water aerobics after work.
If I need to eat something before exercising, how soon after eatting can I exercise? Does anyone know?
