I have that problem too~ and have to be careful how I fill in, because of my diabetes~ can't skip the carbs, but have to have protein with EVERYTHING! LOL

My DH can do just about anything when it comes to electronic fixes~ but don't ask him to work on a car or the plumbing! LOL I used to even build my own furnishings... but I can't do the stuff I used to because of the fibro. We manage, though~ we love the online yellow pages! LOL

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!

Thanks Meraina. We've got yours. I'm usually a mess too. Occasionally I'm not, but that is not yet a habit or normal.

Tonight, after work I pick up my fixed computer and then have to hook it all up again. I'm the supposed handy person in our family of two. My darling husband has two left hands. So do I but mine are willing to learn. He buys me tools!!!! I have four younger brothers and a father who used to 'do' all that kind of stuff.

We met in November 2003 while volunteering on a mayoralty campaign in Toronto and married in May 2005. He is wonderful but neither rich nor handy. I thought one of those was a requirement? LOL!!

Indeed we have. I found to my surprise, that although I was gaining weight I was not eating often enough or enough vegetables and fruit. I now try to remember to snack on these throughout the day and also enjoy soup in this weather and, surprise, surprise, when I do, I get rid of weight!!!! How lovely is that!

I will use all your suggestions and make this work. I have to make this work !
I used to eat one meal a day and have been this big for as long as I can remember. It's getting easier to get up in the morning and eat breakfast and remind myself I HAVE to eat something. I have noticed that I have a lot more energy now that I am eating more and the scale is going down. I guess I just don't want to fail this time.

I totally agree with Kathy. It's happened to me once or twice, so I add a small snack at the end of the day. Nuts are really a great way to add some nutritious calories.

Are you using the food tracker and the reports? I find it helpful when I do track my food to see how close I am to the distribution of calories recommended for proteins, carbs and fats. The pie at the bottom of the reports give quick visual feedback.

If you feel full and satisfied you may want to look at where your cals are set and make an adjustment there. I had problems with that when I first started. I let SP put in my range when I started and found that I could not get where they had set my goal. So I adjusted it to a lower starting range and left the ending range where they had originally set it.

This seems to be a problem for a lot of people from time to time. One way to get the extra calories is to add other things that are higher in calories but good for you. Maybe some peanut butter with your vegetables. Nuts are a good way to get good nutrition and extra calories without much more food. There are some really great articles on spark about how to add extra but good for you calories.

The reason you need to do that is if you leave your body looking for those extra calories it will hoard the fat that it already has and you won't lose the weight or you might quit because you body starts craving other things.

I have been doing this website for about a week now and I am having trouble getting to my target calories everyday. I feel like I am eating all day but at the end of the day my calories are off by about 200 to 400 calories.?
I eat breakfast,a snack, lunch, a snack and then dinner. I have been eating alot of veggies and I'm not a big bread person, so I am very happy with a meal like a turkey burger and a cup of cottage cheese for lunch or dinner. I feel full during the day, so I don't feel like I am doing anything wrong until I see what calories I have for the day and then I can't even use the Healthy Lifestyle scale because it shows me I didn't eat enough calories.
What do you think I should do?
