Jesus said, Love one another as I have loved you.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned (Psa 34:1819, 22).

My goal for this week is to do 1000 steps more each day. I did 12K on Sunday, so I will aim for 13K on Monday and 14K on Tuesday, etc.

While I am at work, my goal is to walk the stairs in our building each time Kirby (my Fitbit) gives me a reminder to get up and move.

Trust the Process!

This is my first post on this thread, but I will use the edit feature on the future. I don't even know where to begin. I have been on Spark for nearly 10 years now and have had many ups and downs. My highest weight was 257, and am currently hovering around 200. 198 to 202 are my numbers. Usually, different things motivate me throughout the year to make downward progression, then I hold for a while. I have had a difficult time finding that mojo for a while-since August when this school year started, I am currently the leader of a team in our County's yearly weight loss challenge. This is usually a good jumpstart for me, but even this hasn't pushed me this time. I do live an extremely busy life and routinely reach 15,000+ steps a day. I teach ESE students and coach several different sports. Right now, it's Track season. Practice every day from 2:30-4, then Union meetings of some sort many evenings, plus lesson plans, grading papers, etc. I know these are all excuses though. I am not logging my meals or taking time to plan anything lately. So, today, I am making a plan for today and the week ahead, taking into account my non-negotiables and commitments, then planning around them. I am going to plan my meals for the week, including the nights when I don't get home until 10. I have signed up for two 5Ks-one on March 31st and one on May 26th. For this week, I will start by tracking all food eaten and schedule training at least 3 days this week. See you all in a week!

I am going to keep my daily goal at 25,000 steps per day and my weekly goal at 175,000. My goal is to keep my Active Minutes to above 150 minutes per day. I will also be tracking my mileage and my goal is to walk 10 miles per day. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

I love my Charge 2 but I am having a difficult time letting go of my One. My Charge 2 consistently gives me higher step counts which I find kind of disconcerting. I recall that my biggest concern switching from a waist-based to a wrist-based tracker was that my step count would suffer. That has not been the case. In fact, I sometimes think that the wrist-based tracker provides me with an inflated amount of steps on a daily basis. I am not comfortable with this; thus, my reason for not letting go of my One. I continue to research my Charge 2 but until I feel comfortable with its data the One will stay with me, too.
UPDATE: This past week I performed more repetitive arm motion activity and my Charge 2 provided some highly inflated numbers. The difference was over 17% compared to my trusty One!

More than ever this applied this week and will be applied this upcoming week as I am having to eat out daily. Finding nutritional, filling meals can sometimes be a challenge. I used the techniques discussed in the linked stories and felt good with the results.

OK, let's talk about one of my biggest issues, chewing slowly and enjoying your meal. I am one of those who blindly puts food in your mouth and continues to do so as long as their is food on my plate. It is a terrible habit. I need to learn to eat more slowly, chew more, and enjoy my meals in a peaceful, stress-free environment. Here is an article that addresses this issue:

Here is another article that addresses the same issue (but from a different angle):

OMG, this past week was a challenge and a half as I dealt with maintenance issues and health issues. I have not been to a doctor yet but I seem to tick all of the symptoms of planter fasciitis. It seems that my continued standing and age may have contributed to this recent problem. Thankfully, I have tried some of the suggested treatments and they have definitely helped. I have cut back any gym activities and concentrated on walking (sometimes very slowly) whenever possible. It is a challenge but one I relish to take on and overcome.

Here are some links that talk about leg/foot issues:

Once again even though the weather might be cooler it is still important to keep yourself hydrated. Here are some links to articles that address the importance of keeping your body hydrated.

OK, once again I am stepping down from my soap box!

03/03: 20,539 (Active Time: 121-Distance: 9.87-Floors: 0-Charge: 25,847)

Another week in the books! I continue to deal with my ailment and push forward toward recovery. Anyhow, I took 152.354 steps this week for a daily step average of 21,765 steps. I was active for 872 minutes this past week or an average of 152 Active Minutes per day. I traveled 70.83 miles or 10.12 miles per day on average and I climbed a grand total of 23 floors for the week. I am glad I am able to remain active, hope your week was satisfying, too!
