I have used the iPhone app as well...I found that it was a bit too sensitive as it picked up on Hubby's movements as well. This meant that it would consistently wake me half an hour before I needed to be awake, because he is a restless sleeper and it assumed that I was the one doing all the moving!!
But, Hubby is away for the next couple of weeks, so maybe I'll give it another try. If nothing else, it'll be an interesting comparison. I really liked seeing my sleep represented graphically!

Edited to say: the added advantage is that it records the total amount of time you were asleep so you don't have to worry about keeping track of it. And you can usually see how many times you woke up on the graph, as well.

Hi - To make the sleep diary easier for me, I created a worksheet that can either be printed and filled out by the bedside (p.1) or filled out on the computer (p. 2). Anybody who is interested can download it at the link below. Once you save it, you can modify it to suit your needs. It is based on the SparkPeople article recommended for week 1 "Keeping a Sleep Diary." It is a Microsoft Word 2007 document. Happy ZZZZs all!

Oh MAN I'm going to see if my boyfriend can download it and will join this challenge with me - He was literally Kicking the bed last night! - Restless leg syndrome, it is definitely increased by stress. We can both work on a bedtime routine that sets us up for a good night's rest.

I've heard of this app before, but now that I see how you are using it, I might actually buy it. I know I don't sleep enough. Does it drain your battery during the night or do you leave your device plugged in to charge while using it?

I lay it in the corner of my side of the bed and it calibrates to my movements. I figure if my DH is rolling around so much that it registers, it is probably impacting my sleep too :) It may not be completely accurate, but it gives an interesting picture of what's going on while I'm asleep.

It seemed to work fine on my iPod Touch, but I don't know if some new software update has made it unreliable or if they're looking to phase out support for it. That's sad news.

I was going to purchase this app but there is a note at the bottom of the app page that saids that they no longer support iPod Touch and do not buy Sleep Cycle if you have an IPod Touch, which is what I have. I don't have an IPad or IPhone so my question is have any of you used it for your ITouch and did it work?

I just wanted to mention something I'm doing to help log my sleep. I've got an iPod Touch and there's an app called Sleep Cycle that costs about $1. You lay it on your bed and it measures your quality of sleep based on your movement.

On the first night I used it, it showed lots of time down in deep sleep. Then last night I had a couple of glasses of wine and it showed I only dipped down to deep sleep once the whole night. I've read that drinking alcohol impairs sleep but it was fascinating to see it represented in a graph for me :)

It's also got an alarm clock that wakes you up gently with nature-type sounds you can choose when your body is cycled up to a light sleep. It tends to wake me up about 15 minutes before I have it set.

I've used this app here and there, but I'm going to use it through this sleep challenge to see how it reflects how I feel and how I can change my habits to reflect better on my graph.
