HELP!! I got into a bike accident today and suffered a groin injury requiring stitches. Suffice it to say, I can't run, bike, do martial arts, or even most forms of YOGA anymore! I will try to keep up with the videos and just modify them, but what about cardio? Walking hurts! I can't be immersed in water so I can't swim even if I wanted to! I will see my doctor on Monday for advice.

I have been having some difficulties this week. My knee has been causing me some problems. It interferes with my cardio.

I go to Curves every weekday on my lunch hour. That's my cardio. I can't really add time to it, but I'm putting in more effort this week. I've been going to Curves for years, so I realized I'm getting a bit bored and lazy with it.

HI Spark People! It's been a cold and snowy day! I passed up cake with icing at work today. YEAH for me. Felt an urge to eat with the others but didn't. Had a yummy salad and yogurt and fruit. Today I've walked three brisk miles. Done day 5 TWICE! and I shoveled snow for about an hour. I am one tired but happy puppy. It's been easy for me to keep fruits and veggies in my diet. I really enjoy eating them. Hopefully the scales will be kind to me this week at weigh in. Good luck everyone! almost done with week three. YIPEEE YEAH!

I have a dream....

I just finished Week 3, Day 6 and I really didn't want to. My head has been hurting all day so it didn't help, but I did it anyway. I'm happy I did! I'm not sure if I will get any cardio in today though... We'll see how I feel in the next hour!

I'm day two into the third week and my goal this week is to do 30 minutes of cardio every day (with the exception of yesterday, because I let life get in the way.) This part of the challenge will not be an issue for me, as I love to be active!
Fruits and veggies, for whatever reason, are always hard for me to get enough of. I think it's because I aim for a lower-carb, higher-protien diet and I find so many fruits/veggies are high in carbs. If anyone has suggestions of new things to try, I'd appreciate it!
Overall, bootcamp is going well for me, and though I'm not seeing results in numbers on the scale, I AM feeling better, and am positive my total inches will have dropped slightly at my month-end measurement.

My last day for Wk3. I like the fact I have to be accountable to log in the fitness and nutrition logs. But for some reason I've been eating sweets and I think it's making me sleepy. So no more of those, just veggie, fruits, beans and grains. I like the fact that the videos are around 10 min. That way I can squeeze them in AM and PM or in between. I like variety. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I had two days this week where I couldn't bring myself to workout due to illness. Today I felt great and really pushed myself. I did 3 boot- camp videos and 38 minutes of circuit training. I have two days left of week 3. Here's to a strong finish.

I'm 4-5 pounds away from my goal weight....and, if I use the preset date the SP gave me when I joined, I'm also just a few weeks away from that as well. I've decided not to let it bother me TOO much if I don't reach my goal "on time". B/c I'm very happy with any results so far! I joined this challenge at the first of the year, hoping this would help me reach my goal. I like that it is helping me keep disciplined with exercise AND strength training at the same time.

A funny observation is that I always seem to do my breathing the exact opposite as Coach Nicole in the videos. I figure it's fine as long as I AM breathing:) My other issue is that all the exercise and sweat has not made my skin very happy...and there are some issues there....but, I'm dealing with it. I think it's my age and hormone issues. Ah well, it seems to be always SOMEthing that one has to deal with, doesn't it?? Thanx for this challenge team. It is great!

Right now I would not want to do more as the boot camp workouts are actually helping my sciatica. Also glad for the moderation tips Nicole gives.

Today felt good as I got some good stretching in the right place. Think I need to cut back on the walking although love it.

Good day and satisfying.

I'm loving the Bootcamp Challenge. It's putting that little extra into my daily workouts and I'm feeling stronger because of it. Almost done Week 3 now and will probably continue on with some of the workouts once I complete Week 4!

This week I was finally down half a pound - very exciting, since it was the first time the scale had moved in the right direction in a while.

The fruits and veggies are no problem for me - especially since I am seriously addicted to clementines! As for going the extra bit on cardio, well, tuesday I did kickboxing, and yesterday I spend 45 minutes on the precor (10 more than my usual). I figure if I just always add 10 or 15 minutes to whatever I'm doing, or if I'm at the gym, add some high incline (although that seems to tire my core and butt) I should be fine.

I skipped 3 days - not enough time, blah mood - at the end of week 2. I picked up where I left off and now I'm on day 2 of week 3.
I was able to combine day 7 of week 2 and day 1 of week 3, so I'm only 2 days behind.
Finishing in 30 days instead of 28...
I had been doing 45 min of cardio one day each week.
I have a plan to do an additional day of 40-45 min of cardio and to do intervals during one of my other cardio sessions.
I paid on the scale for missing 3 days so I'm hoping the extra cardio will help this week.

Week 3 - yesterday was a hectic Aqua class and then wandering around a wine estate for an hour or so with old school friend - good for the soul and emotional health

Today - a neighbourhood walk for an hour - almost 4miles - have to extend the route - and then Days 3 and 4 videos - Arms and Core

I can't believe it is week 3! I have started doing a workout in the morning and then got my co-workers to start walking at lunch time, then another exercise session at night. I am really liking breaking it up into 3 sessions. It is working so well for me.
Thanks Spark for lighting my fire again!

Ok thanks to this challenge I'm finally focused and going to gym and doing the videos on a regular. Now I must refocus on making sure my eating habits do not make all my workout done in vain. Its not that I over eat, my problem is I dont eat enough. I know 5 small meals, but I'm lucky to get 2 meals in. So I must Refocus my energy now to my food.

I'm having some trouble this week. I've been in maintenance mode for a couple weeks now because I was actually under my goal weight. And now that I've added so much cardio, my calories got upped again. So by the time I realize I'm really low on calories, and am out of work, it's already dinner time. Eating that much food and not feeling like it's Thanksgiving (and therefore no motivation to workout) is difficult. I think I'm going to need to turn my car into a pantry so I can eat enough earlier in the day.

Getting in the 5 servings of fruit and veggies shouldn't be a problem though. I've had 5 a day as my goal for a couple months and have consistently met that goal. Now I'm going for more than 5. Yesterday and today it's been 12 or 13. Maybe a little TOO much! LOL

I'm really liking this bootcamp challenge. Although I've lost only 2 pounds since starting, I do feel a lot stronger and seeing more muscle definition throughout my body emoticon

I CAN DO IT!

Started Week 3 yesterday. Does day 1 get any easier? It blows my mind that I can go out and run 4 miles, but a 10 minute cardio video kicks my butt.

The addition of 10 minutes of cardio will be a breeze, the extra fruits and veggies not so much. It seems like I get 3 or 4. I do like that this is making me think about it and look to increase my intake. I hope Week 4 is a water challenge I usually hit 5 or 6!!
