today's weight is 262.4 pounds, My goal is to average a 6 pound weight loss over the next year. that would put me at around 190 at the end of the year. i want to exercise one hour per day, drink my water, take my meds and supplements, and eat a reasonable amount. I would also like to see my ldl go back down into the 80s and my HDL up into the fifties. I also want to break 1000 miles on the road bike, participate in at least one long distance ride and in the fall, complete a mini triathlon with my children.

Two years ago I lost 30 pounds...kept it off until about 4 months ago. I gained it all back. All the work it took to lose it went down the drain.
If I did it once before, I can do it again X 3, because
that is what my goal is...90 pounds.

Clean slate, so here we go.
Wishing everyone else success with their goals.

I have the good fortune to spend the first week of the year at RANCHO LA PUERTA for free--what a way to start--I hope to get a very good start on centering enough to do this (for the 100th time)

Good luck all!!!! Those who are already up have a good start (depending upon which coast you are on! :)

My challenge and goal -
Challenge - stick to my daily routine - eating the right foods and getting the exercise in.

Goal - to have the last 10# slowly melt away - and to be in better shape - stronger and more energetic.

If I can do this, maybe my daughter-in-law will see that it can be done and she will follow suit and take care of herself...I am hoping to lead by example...

My goal may seem modest. But I'm taking it seriously. I want to lose 10 pounds this year. Over the past couple of years I've been continually putting on weight. If I keep this up, I'll have a real problem in just a few years. So I want to lose 10 pounds and keep it off. While doing that I also want to improve my general overall health and stamina and tone up and get my flat tummy back! So over the next 4 weeks I want to lose 2 pounds and get to where I'm able to do 5 miles on the treadmill each day.

I am the mother of 3. My younger children are ages 8 & 6, and my older daughter is the mother of an 8 yr old and will be giving birth to another grandchild in February 2011. I want to set a good example for my children and my grandchildren. I want to eat healthier, exercise more, and work on losing 50 lbs in the process. There is a history of diabetes and high blood pressure in my family, and I want to be proactive for myself and set my children's good health in motion as well. emoticon

I'm determined to drop 20 pounds in 2011. I'm adding Zumba to my Curves workouts once a week. Gotta get back to my losing streak which kinda backfired in late August. Need some Buddies!!!! Turned 60 this year, married, two basset hounds, one adult son.

I am a mother of four and work way too hard at my job. So even though I used to be fit now I don't find time to exercise and do things for myself. In 2011 I want to lose 25 pounds and feel good about my body again. I am using the bootcamp to jump start my fitness plan.

I've been on SP off and on for over 3 years now. Lost 10 pounds in 2009 but not much else since then. I'll be 40 in July of this year and really wanted to get to my goal weight by then. Have signed up for a half marathon in May and am going to do the bootcamp in addition to my marathon training.

I have spent the last 10 years (give or take) making excuses why I can't fit regular exercise into my routine. I am the mother of 3 beautiful children and I work 40+ hours/ week in a busy, often stressful, Family Practice in NH.

SO.... this Challenge, for me, is all about throwing excuses out the window, making time for exercise, and surrounding myself with supportive people. All of the 'girls' at work are planning to eat healthier and try to walk @ lunch time.
I hope to lose 4-7 pounds this month. emoticon

At one time I lost 40 pounds! Recently I gained 16 of them back! I am here because I don't want to gain any more weight, I want to refine my habits and I'm hoping this challenge will help me with adapting a fitness routine.

What I learned from those 16 pounds is... don't ever think you have to stop some sort of exercise, it is needed in your life! It will help you not feel sluggish like I always do!

I'm very excited to join this challenge! I like the fact that the goals are very attainable and set up for success...I always tend to do too much too soon and after I started reading The Spark, I realized that I was asking too much of myself too soon! This challenge will be perfect for me to reach my goal of accountability! :)

I would like to jump start my 2011 weight loss program. I have 77 lbs to lose and I am no longer in a "Try" mindset. I *will* lose this weight. The 28-day bootcamp will hopefully get me used to working out everyday and hopefully increase my metabolism, giving me more energy. I'm not sure how much weight I can lose in 28 days, but I'm interested to find out!

regular exercise to be more healthy . . . get off medication . . . and lose weight.

Starting weight 170. I lost 40 pounds 4 years ago and then slowly gained 20 of it back. How do you get those widgets that show your progress?

I joined the challenge because 2010 was a crazy yo-yo year for me, where I lost weight and then gained back and then some for a brand new all-time high. That's not the change I was going for last year. But it is over, and here I am, looking for some support to make things different in 2011.

My goals are (hopefully) modest for this first 28 days:
1. To get into some sort of exercise routine, even if it is just a little indoor walking every day. I just need to make a habit of it.
2. Set a good tone and have a good attitude going into the new year.
3. Let my competitive nature do something good for me for a change. ;)

I started my lifestyle change in October 2010, after having my first child. My goal is to continue making progress...but to shake it up and make it more interesting with this challenge. You can only walk on a treadmill so many times before it stops being fun and starts being monotonous.
