I'm going to try to do one of the Spark Videos at least once this week. Walking on the treadmill everyday does tend to get kind of boring.

I’m having a bit of a down day, so hope visiting my teams will help. So far I HAVE resisted getting a donut & instead ate a banana & am eating my oatmeal. One meal at a time, one day at a time.

I've done a short walk already & will do more. Aiming at 10 minutes makes it do-able.

I'm starting week 3 and finding that I don't have to talk myself into exercising. I know if I don't do it I'll feel rotten on several levels...and I don't want to feel rotten. If I just do 10 minutes I won't have a reason to feel rotten. And most days I keep going. I complete my cardio and strength exercises. Now that's something to feel good about. emoticon

Week 3 and still going strong. I love coach Nicole's 10 min workouts. They are fun, she is easy to follow, and even though I have a cold and don't feel as well as I ought they are still doable. I am very glad I joined this challenge.

I am rounding out my Week 3 of this challenge and I must say that I am quite proud that I have been able to keep this up.

I started doing 10 minute workouts at night, then week 2 I started doing them in the morning before work. This morning I woke up early so I could do a 45 minute workout before work! This is a great challenge.

I'm taking a group of Girl GUides (like Girl Scouts only Canadian) out this evening. We'll be skating on outdoor ice as well as snowshoeing. I am looking forward to being able to play in the snow and to inspire girls to be fit and active. Last week we were at the gym learning about nutrition.

Just started week 3. Could not exercise yesterday (had out patient surgery) and really missed it. Today I will do 15 minutes on my treadmill.

Week 3 went well! I've kept up with my walking partners at work and I've kept my appointments with myself for lifting and cardio. I forgot how much I liked strength training (and the results!)

This is the start of my week 3. I am staying committed to at least 10 minutes of planned walking a day and working from there. I'm not consistent about strength exercises yet, that will come.

I had a rough start to week 3. I was at a training class, then a dinner, then the annual meeting at our church from Friday-Sunday. I didn't let it stop me though. Every break we had, I got up and moved around instead of sitting in the dining room and drinking coffee and eating cookies. I grabbed an apple and went for a walk.

I also tried to get some strength training and stretches in when I could. I just watched the boot camp video and I think I will try that. It is too cold to go out skiing so I will also make the treadmill a part of my day. I am committed to movement and exercise now. I never thought I'd say that, but I'm finding that if I don't do something, I feel tired and drained.

Recap from week 3 - I'm doing good at getting 10 minutes/day of exercise in. In fact I've been getting about 20 minutes/day in. This past week I babysat my friend's 1 yr old for a couple afternoons. I think she went straight from crawling to running. Needless to say, the kid kept me on my toes and helped to get me a little more active this past week.

I am just starting week 4 now. But I wanted to recap on my week 3. Things went well. I stayed within my calorie range 6/7 days and exercised for at least 15 minutes everyday. I lost 1 lb. While not much I consider any downward movement on the scale as positive. Looking forward to the challenges of Week 4!

Good luck with your marathon relay, Chatelaine.

Now that I've got myself 'mving' again, I'm going to make more use of the wii. Discovered it was 161 days since I logged in there emoticon so I shall get back to making it part of my regular routine.

I've been having trouble narrowing down my options and finding a few things that I can really stick to. This week was better. I got some extra walking in and downloaded some new podcasts to listen to while on my elliptical.

The weather has cooperated so I could get a variety in this week. I'm still training for my marathon relay which has me walking/running 3-4 miles 4 times a week. Then I got to go for a great hike with the family today. I must say having my "soon to be" 15 year old son as a running partner is such a bonus! emoticon

Today I did the 10 minute day-1 bootcamp kickboxing video. I kept moving the entire time, but with my blown knees, I couldn't do alot of the kicks. But I moved and got my cardio in for the day.....little steps, will soon turn to big ones. hugs to everyone Tammy

This week, I find that I am able to do more than 10-15 minutes from when I first started this challenge. I feel good about that, and trying to push myself just a tiny bit, not too much to turn me off. I have to be real careful about doing too much too soon. That's been my downfall in the past. That's what I love about this challenge, I've been mindful about going slow. Down with week 3 - on to 4!
Best to all,

Hey Everyone,
I'm here, I'm invigorated and I am EMPOWERRED....This year started off with me implimenting daily exercises and watching my calorie intake. I weigh in on wednesday so wish me luck. Today I actually did 60 lying leg curls,15 crunches and I could only do 2 of the lying leg raises, but I tried....did a bunch of heavy house work and played with my dogs....even had time w/ my BF. Life is GREAT!

I want to add in strength training this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.I've been doing lots of snow and ice shoveling this winter.Really surprised myself with my continued strength and endurance while shoveling.I am a 60 year old young at heart grandmother who enjoys shoveling snow and know I am getting a great workout.I haven't had the aches and pains from the snow and ice shoveling which has really amazed me.

I ran--I actually ran more than 30 seconds at ta time. And I could do a modified plank for more than 30 seconds AND tap the top of the cone while in a push up position (yeah--weird exercise but....). I have gotten into so mucj better shape!! But--I am focusing on food--in a bad way today. Hopefully this will pass but....I'm getting into shape!

Today I shoveled snow for 20 minutes then drove to the gym and had class ALL BY MYSELF so the instructor focused on the things I need to work. I did regular, not modified pushups, V sit ups (arg) and steps up on the box--the TALL box so it was hard! Then we did the lat pulldowns--35 pounds. I did it!!! So not a lot of cardio today but I worked. I wasn't happy with today's scale but I'm focusing more on the size 12 jeans than the number on the scale.

I got out to the gym today--did 2 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes so I ran part of that distance. Then I did the strength workout with the personal trainer--9 stations in 1/2 hour. I worked during that time. My pedometer says I have done over over 8100 steps today--woohoo! AND I have lost 2 of the pounds I had regained -- boy, that makes a BIG difference in my attitude!

Technically I probably finished week 3 a while ago, but in the interest of mindfulness and consistency, I kept with it. I've been doing a lot of learning the past week, and the trio of good things--sleep, eating right, and exercise--all at the same time, is finally getting me to the right place (or at least on my way..still a heckuva ways to go)

Well, I didn't do a sparkvideo (that's for today, then i'm done with 3), but I did come up with some things when I get bogged down and push back and push back exercise...i changed around and added to my danceable tunes on my computer and just had fun twisting for a good hour last night. whoo! that was fun (love big band and swing--need to add more for sure).

but i'm developing a routine and even have cardio planned for next month to avoid the plateau. i've been having fun this week and wanting to go long beyond 10 minutes. whoo hoo!

I have tried some new strength exercises using a stability ball. And I tried some new games on my xbox that made working out more fun.

So Itried the 10 minute workout videos... Some of them are nice, but I always felt that by the time I was warmed up, the video was over... Funny how a short while ago I wouldn't motivate myself to workout at all & now I find that 10 minutes is just not enough to get me rolling. What I try to do is combine strength with my walking, so while on the treadmill I will do arm exercises. It's really great.

It's not a diet... It's life.

My favorite is the 10 minute Cardio kickboxing too. I was especially surprised to see how many calories that it burned in those 10 minutes.
