Love how you said that, its too funny! "I tried to make the candy go away.... by eating it".

Eh, what's one night? Jump back on today, take that candy elsewhere (at least put it out of sight).

I forgot to post my progress yesterday.

I drank plenty of water and hot tea - couldn't get enough!
Remembered to put a healthy serving of veggies on my plate versus the ham. But also ate a slice of lemon cooler cake - with ice cream. It felt SO good on my throat!
Totally failed at avoiding the candy. I was sucking on dark chocolate mini eggs like they were throat lozenges.

At least I'm pretty much done with this cold and am back to eating healthy and working out today.

Benji, Bailey and I walked for an hour in the park on Easter day! It was cold walking home into the North wind but it was so refreshing! Signs of Spring abound in Missouri, including the tick that Bailey brought home. Benji stayed on the path with me so I couldn't find any on him. Now begins the daily tick check when brushing.

I avoided the Easter Cadbury Caramel Eggs this year altogether. They are the only temptation that really gets to me this season!

Sorry all I did not do good this weekend.

I got my DH cold. I ended getting alot of rest, which I needed.

Next weekend will be better.

Bruno's Mom and Coopsm- thank you!!

This weekend has been a disaster (actually worse than Christmas/New Years - did really good there) ... I'm also thankful for tomorrow ...

lots of water, lots of dog walking and WAY too much candy ... I should have not just visualized the candy taped to my butt - but just stuck it there ... I'll remember that for next year!

I tried my pants on before church, which gave me a huge amount of motivation! Drank my water, most of it while I cooked dinner. I had a light brunch and then LOST MY FRIG EN MIND! I ate peeps and milk balls. I had chocolate and cookies. I had ham and seconds on perogies and it ain't over yet!
Thank goodness tomorrow will start a new day. I need it! WOW.

I hope to be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

Well, it is almost bedtime for me. So here is my final input:

I did not walk the dogs.
I ended up cleaning more and accomplished a lot.
I did not eat any candy.
I did not get to see my grandbabies.
I stayed very busy and did not rest today.
I drank plenty of water and even lost a pound.

Not bad for a weekend.

No holidays for me but...

*Keep up with 11 glasses water: yuppers!
*Eat 4+ fruit/veggies (harder for me when I don't work): Oh yeah, I made lots of veggies for dinner both nights.
*Walk Tyler 2-3 miles each day: no, we went to the dog park yesterday and walked 1.5 miles today... Tyler's sick so I didn't want to push him (stomach thing... diarrhea and even threw up twice, poor thing!)
*Do some sort of strength training, at least once: circuit trained yesterday for 35 minutes. yeah!
*Finish my spring break "to-do" list!!: didn't get finished, but I did do most of it!

I can't wait to hear how everyone did! For those that didn't make their goals (like my spring break to-do list, augh!), remember, tomorrow's a FRESH week!!!

COOPSM-Don't feel bad...the voices from the candy started calling me last night and haven't stopped...well except when I eat them!!! LOL I did track last night but I've given up for the rest of the day. I have gotten my water in so that's a good thing...what else did I commit to? I'll have to check and repost...

Oh yeah, pop and husband...negative on both...and I only got in my 8 glasses, not the 12 I was hoping for.

Oh yeah there was and I committed..what was I thinking??

Lets see, below is what I committed to and all 3 are NO'S!!!!!
Oh well, new day tomorrow...should have gotten the tape out and been done with it, less calories that way, but would have made a mess when the chocolate melted, and the icing from the sweet rolls everywhere....LOL(Oh, one more thingd--no calorie tracking either for today..nope not doing it(and should have forgotten it yesterday)..I still have a dinner to get through...seriously though, will make good choices there if I even eat..I am stuffed from my parents)

I will make sure I get my water in....Holidays are tough for me with this...
I WILL THINK BEFORE I PUT ANYTHING IN MY MOUTH----"is this good for me or should I just tape it on my hips and behind???"
I am going to try for cardio one day or at least get Cooper for a walk......cardio is a big reach as I am working Sat then plans Sat night, Sun Church, my parents and then hubby's sisters....so a walk is more likely!!

Good luck everyone and Happy easter!!!!!

Easter is hard and usually gets me started on a non ending candy and sweet binge. Not this year.
I will:
1. Fill up on water.
2. Keep to small portions and eat little or no candy.
3. Go for our usual dog walk after the meal.
4. Take no seconds on anything ( in the past I have been good at sitting and talking while taking small slivers of favorite foods left on the table.... like a million slivers don't count because they're all so tiny)
Have a wonderful and healthy holiday everyone!!

That's such a good one COOPSM :) For me, lots of water, weather is going to be just gorgeous this weekend so planning on working in my garden and taking Oreo to the lake to play with her ball in the water. Food shouldn't a problem, but those darned malted milk balls and jelly beans!!!

Sat. will be fine, but Sun. will be the challenge--dinner at Mom's. However, I am making ginger sesame asparagus and orange glazed carrots and brussel sprouts---at least I know that they will be health for me!
1. Workout at 60 min. on Sunday
2. Walk Scooby 1/2 mile on Sunday before going to Mom's
3. Control portions at Easter dinner

I'm still fighting a nasty cold, so I plan to:

Drink 10+ glasses of water, juice and hot tea each day;
Put more veggies on my plate than anything else;
Play with my sister's TFT and my own pooches as much as my energy allows;
Avoid the candy as much as possible (I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to touch it).

If I'm really lucky I'll be done with this cold before we visit my parents and I won't feel tempted to touch the candy at all. However, when I'm sick I tend to reach for comforting foods, whatever will make me feel better, even if for a moment.

I'll be walking the dogs daily - at least 2 miles. Definately the water - lots and lots of water! and since the hubby decided we should be going to a BUFFET (UGH) on Easter Sunday, I'll also be using the small salad plates!!!!

for home, instead of buying candy for the easter egg hunt, I'm filling the eggs with coins this year - probably will still be cheaper than buying all the candy (that I end up eating! LOL) girls are getting older now and would rather have $! LOL

Happy Easter, and hugs everyone!

I am going to walk Miss Taylor a minimum of 3 miles this beautiful Easter weekend.

I am going to pay attention and focus on what I am eating and emoticon when I am full.

I am going to track my calories this weekend (something I am often to lax on, on the weekends).

I am going to mow the yard and clean out the junk room - got to start sorting through some of my smaller clothes! emoticon

Wish everyone a great weekend- Oh, I forgot, I will be hugging on Miss Taylor and thanking her for being such a great walking buddy.

Well, today is our day off but the dogs don't realize that because Gary had to go into work today for a special meeting. So, we were all up at our usual time of 4:00 a.m. Today is the day I take Sunny to the vet for the first time. My vet is in Tennessee so the drive will be an hour each way. It is 39 degrees right now but we are expecting Sunny weather with a high of 70. I hope to get in a walk with the dogs. I plan to do a lot of cleaning this weekend - I have spring cleaning fever. Gary is playing golf on Saturday so I will probably visit the grandbabies. After Church, Sunday will be a day of rest. No candy in this house. No candy for the grandbabies since they are only 4.5 months old. No special meal, no company. I don't really like sweets to that is no problem. So, keeping busy (exercise) is a challenge. Water is always a challenge because I hate drinking it. Getting something accomplished is a challenge. I can stay busy all day long every day but not feel like I've accomplished a thing.

I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter.

I like this one.

Since we are going to shore this should be fun.

Killer has never seen the ocean before. Can't wait for him to see it.

Brunosmom, I love that last one!! I'll have to remember that one!

- Drink water, water, then more water, I'm aiming for 3-32 oz bottles instead of my usualy two.
- Have my husband help me get the kids' Easter baskets ready so I'm less likely to eat all the candy
- Avoid pop at all costs to keep my sweet tooth at bay
- If all else fails...I'll just sleep through the weekend!! LOL

Shannon :)

Great ideas, CCRCCR.
I am going to
-drink loads of water.
-fill up at the vege tray I am making.
-keep the kids Easter baskets on top of the hutch
out of site and out of reach.
-try on the pants that are too snug in the morning
before church...just as a reminder.

I hope to be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

It's the time of marshmallow peeps, chocolate bunnies, coconut cakes, ham and other gastronomic delights!

Should you choose to participate, list the strategies you're going to use this weekend to help keep you on track ..

I'm going to:
- drink water like it's going out of style
- sample a little bit of everything (not eating a lot of everything like in the past!)
- make sure all the left overs go home with our guests!!
- invite a couple of friends to walk with me and bring their cameras to take some beautiful spring flower shots at our local parks on Saturday (we're not going to do the usual sitting around and eating! we can talk & walk instead!)

Happy Easter All!!
