Mandy - you can join me in the "water whoops" catagory -- but I swear I'm going to make it next weekend!

Excellent work on the lack of stress (that takes a lot of work!)

Unfortunately I was unable to meet all my goals. I worked out both days and I didn’t let my girls stress me out too much. However, I had trouble getting my water down emoticon

Hey Carry - great job! I love how they 'talk' to us in so many ways ... so many conversations I've had with mine just being with them ... and I feel my blood pressure drop!

thanks for being part of the challenge & reporting back - it encourages everyone!

I accomplished my goal. I drank 8 glasses of water both Sat and Sun. I took Katie for a walk on Saturday for 30 minutes despite the terrible wind we are having. I wasn't able to on Sunday. The wind was twice as strong and even Katie didn't want to do to much outside. But I did do 30 minutes on the gazelle. I also spent some Katie and me time which she really needed since I have been gone quite a bit the the last three weeks.

I was fairly successful. Thanks for the sweet comment JoJo emoticon as she has been a tremendous support to me. It is nice to know you have an accountability partner and can be honest.

I did consume 8 glasses of water Saturday and Sunday. I also ate more vegetables each day and also ate fruit. I exercised both days as well. I wasn't perfect but certainly did better on the weekend than I sometimes do!! It helped to think about the challenge and knowing that I needed to eat more veggies and drink more water to keep my end of the commitment.

Hi COOPSM

I think using the word failure is being too tough on yourself and the term could also cause you to feel very defeatist...if that makes sense.

I was sick yesterday and only managed to accomplish my water consumption. On saturday I managed to get on the treadmill and drink water, but the bench press is still sitting in it's lonely position in the basement.

Not accomplishing our goals does not make us failures, it only means we have areas that we have to work on. This whole challenge is basically about getting people moving and you did this, did you not.

I think the reason many of us have failed maintaining a healthy weight in the past is because our emotions dictate our eating habits, well, they did for me. When I felt I was good (eating right, exercising) I felt great, but if I slipped up I felt miserable and this dictated my further bad habits. This is what we want to change. Change your thinking and this will make losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight much easier. Pat yourself on the back for even setting a goal! This is all about baby steps!

COOPSM - you are NOT a failure! You put down a goal in writing (there's a committment!) and you worked towards it and got 2/3 the way there. You succeeded in water 100% where I had only a 50% success rate!

You had a 50% success rate on dog walking, which made Cooper very happy I'm sure!!

We can do a week challenge or weekend or whatever ... I was trying to work on getting my weekends 'up' to where my weeks are (structure in my weekdays is what makes me more successful, think lots of folks are in a similar 'boat') and my sister's weekends are Sunday / Monday, so I understand that the weekend isn't the same for everyone.

Why not do the challenge again on your true weekend and let us know how it goes!?!

I think if we are going to do something like this in the future to maybe do someweek days also. I am in the healthcare field full time and have weekends that I have to work(next weekend)..but you know what...does it matter what day? I should still be accountable right? I love it here...you guys are great!!!

O.K. Here goes:

1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day.
Did that and more on Saturday. Barely got in 8 on Sunday.

2. Get out my exercise ball and do crunches each day. Forgot on Saturday (great excuse huh?), but did other exercises that I hadn't been doing, so I guess that makes up for it. I did the crunches and other exercises on Sunday.

3. Shop and prepare food for the coming week.
Did it!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!!!!! I think this is an excellent idea for EVERY weekend!

It's Monday Check in time ... how did you do with your challenge?

here's mine:
For me....
1. Drink 8 glasses of water sat & sunday
I made it Saturday, flunked Sunday, but have next weekend to try again ;-)
2. Walk for 60 minutes each day
exceeded that by 15 minutes each day (the dogs loved it!)
3. Bag up & give to Goodwill the larger sizes of clothing I have 'hanging out' in the closets & drawers.
this was most gratifying as I have 5 grocery bags for Goodwill and CANNOT gain the old weight back unless I want to run around naked or buy a new wardrobe!! Woo Hoo ... and now I have more room in the closets & drawers for mini-me clothes!! Can't wait to get to the next size & get some!

Thanks everyone for participating!
Colleen

I will take the challege too. I need a little motivation. I have been slipping with all of the traveling I have been doing for my mom's dog. She starts her radiation treatment next week.

1. I will drink my 8 glasses of water each day.
2. Spend time with my own dog and if the weather isn't too cold and windy take her for a walk.
3. Use my gazelle for at least 30 minutes or go to the gym.
4. Have some much needed auntie time with my nephew who informed me that he needed to go to lunch with grandma and I.

Hi ARKCOLLECTOR

Oh, the dreaded crunches. I so need to be doing these!! My husband sickens me with his washboard abs, but he certainly didn't get them by sitting around watching tv. Maybe I should add a number 4 to my goals for this weekend?

Sounds good to me CCRCCR. Now I am going to steal one of your suggestions because I too have a hard time hitting my quota of water over the weekends.

For me....
1. Drink 8 glasses of water sat & sunday
2. Hit the treadmill for 60 minutes minimum (I will also be walking/jogging the dogs, but I am finding lately that Zack is slowing us down)
3. I am going to use the weight bench/weights that are taking up space in my basement! I love feeling strong from using weights, but detest using them as I find it totally boring. I will do it this weekend.

Good luck with the challenge Dog Lovers!

Hey there!!!!
OK...I NEVER participate in a challenge unless I can commit!!! So:
1) I will walk both Baby Star and Daytona Sat. and Sun.
2) I will exercise on both days.
3) I will organize and prepare all food for the next week!

Awesome idea...I also find water drinking so much easier when I am at work...I am off this weekend so here goes....
1) I will drink at least 8 glasses of water(I usually do 13 on working days)
2) I will do the treadmill Sat/Sun for 3o minutes...something I also find easier to do when I am working--just in the mindset that is the first thing I do when I get home
3) I will walk dog for a minimum of 30 minutes on Sat/Sun

Looking forward to reaching my goals emoticon

Ok hear goes, not sure if I'll be working this weekend or not will find out later today.

I will drink 8 glasses of water both days (it's easy when I'm working and not so easy when I'm home)

I will be helping the physically challenge with bowling for 2 hours.

If it's not freezing outside I will take each of the dogs (3) individually for a walk.

Barn chores is a given, lol.

I'm taking a queue from one of the other groups I'm in and wanted to see if you'd like to try a Weekend Challenge with me? It's just two days and a chance to strengthen a commitment to your health in puppy steps!

How this goes is you make a commitment to yourself this weekend and tell us 3 things you will do over the weekend (both Sat and Sunday...together) to move yourself closer to your health goals.

For me....
1. Drink 8 glasses of water sat & sunday (I can do it M-F with no issues, always have problems on weekends)
2. Walk for 60 minutes each day
3. Bag up & give to Goodwill the larger sizes of clothing I have 'hanging out' in the closets & drawers.

So...let's have it... What will you do? Can be physical, mental, preparation or next week, etc. You decide. Then come back Monday and tell us how you did!

the best to you this weekend!!
