I totally agree about the price of items but my other concern is the lack of healthy options available. If there were better options, I might not have to worry about bringing my own items.

I am also a fan of home-popped lo-cal popcorn!

I don't go to the movies that often because of Netflix, DirectTV, DVDs, etc. If I do have a snack (rarely), I'll splurge and have a small popcorn. Like I said, I usually eat a meal beforehand. I only go to the movies about 3-4 times a year, so the small popcorn really doesn't do a lot of damage.

The first step in getting somewhere is by deciding not to stay where you're at.

Here I thought I was the only one "sneaking" snacks into the movie theater; I feel so much better. Don't go to the movies very often. While I'm confessing, I also sneak snacks & drinks into the grandkids' ball games.

So funny the timing on this! I just read in a magazine that it is bad etiquette to take your own snacks to the movies, they compared it to taking your own nachos to a bar and eating them there. I was feeling a little guitly since I do take my own snacks, but I'm glad that I'm not alone. The reasoning, in case you are curious is that they say movies make the majority of their money from the snack bar and if everyone brings there own, then they will have to raise the ticket prices. I'm not buying it!

I so seldom go to the movies. I prefer to save my money for traveling. When I do see a movie though I'm the kind of person that will NOT buy anything at the movies, and when my friends say "hey you want some of my pop corn ?" I'll take two kernals and that's it.

I air pop my own popcorn and add my own oil which allows me to control my intake. My other favorites are fruits like strawberries, grapes and cherries. When I want a chocolate fix, I bring the small 80 calorie nestle raisinetts boxes with me.

While I'll sometimes get the not-so-healthy movie popcorn, I often eat a good lunch before going to a movie (I'm cheap and see the first movie of the day, which costs the least) and then I don't need a snack for the movie.

When we go to the movies, we eat a meal just before going. If it's a matinee, we have lunch, or, if it's in the eveing, we have dinner first -- healthy meals, of course. Then we don't even want a snack. emoticon

I bring some nuts from home in a baggie that I sneak in in my purse. Everything else is to tempting. The smell makes me hungry, so it does help to have something to nibble on.

Hi!

What do you eat during a movie? Popcorn, nachos? What are your ideas for a healthy and small in calories snack?

Thanks!
