I have a week of meals that I tend to rotate. It makes it easier if I have a plan and routine to follow. My family doesn't seem to care--it's like having Pizza night each Friday and pancakes on Saturday--they know what to expect!

I do the same. Some really good vegetarian chili recipe's from Chef Meg. I'm not a vegetarian, as such, but the recipes are so good, I don't miss the beef or ground turkey

I agree! But, if it's something you like--it isn't boring, at least for a few days or a week. I usually cook "in batches" and put "portion-sized" left-overs in small bags so I can grab one to take with me. So I usually have an assortment of 2 or 3 items to choose from, but even then I will often eat the same thing several days in a row--just because it tastes so good to me and/or I'm "in the mood" for it.

I live alone and several evenings have a second job. I am very happy making a pot of chili to have all week.

I agree. It takes the work out of it. For a long time I have been taking fat-free raspberry yogurt and 17 Special K Crackers to work for lunch. The nutrients are already in my favorites in the nutrition tracker and it tastes great. Once I get into a routine, I really like to stay with it. Going out to lunch really messes me up, but if I don't go sometimes my co-workers think I'm anti-social.

I usually bring leftovers from dinner for my lunch. Again, you already know the portion size and calories too.

Oh yes I find myself preparing the same type lunch for work several days of the week not only because it's quick but I like it !

So, trying new things is good, but, sometimes, eating the same foods again and again can make it easier to avoid pitfalls and traps. There is no guessing about portion size, calories, or what to eat today. Once you get used to something, you may find that it becomes a new, healthy, comfort food.
