Hi Brenda, I am glad you joined SP. you can make a lot of supportive friends here. We all need it. I would like to be one of your many friends here. Friend me on here, maybe discuss our healthy goals and motivate one another daily or at least every few days.

Color it up!

Brenda-For me, I had to really REALLY rethink the whole weight loss thing-if you have tried before and regained it is easy to see that as a "failure"-but I decided it was not, it was just a stepping stone for me to be successful THIS time. DO reach out-no one knows the struggle as well as someone else who has been there!!
Do this for YOU-no one else-and it is so worth it. Every little step is a huge step towards being healthy---
I would be happy to offer encouragement, support, advice, friendship-let me know!!

Katie

Welcome Back. You are in the right place and reaching out for support is the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me personally in this struggle with food. We CAN do TOGETHER what we could NEVER do alone!

Feel free to stop by my page and keep in touch if you feel as though I can be of ANY use :-)

love,
stephi

Hi Brenda!
You've come to the right place! Sparkpeople is a great site!
Welcome!

Weight loss is accomplished with the mind.

A person who wants something WILL find a way....a person who doesn't will find an excuse.

Which do you prefer?
The pain of self discipline?....or...the pain of self regret?

I am not one to reach out for help.....but I am on a down slide and I know if I don't get some kind of support from somewhere I am once again going to fail.....

I have been a yo-yo dieter my entire life...the last real success I had was when I joined WW in 2008....I lost 80 pounds...but never reached my goal weight....I wound up gaining all the 80 pounds back plus some....I tried to make WW work but it had run it's course.....I joined SP in 2012 but never got serious.....in Feb 2013 I started getting serious and have been pretty successful....I'm about 30 pounds down.....BUT for about the last two weeks I've not been doing what I need to do.....I've not been tracking....I've been saying "what the heck" a lot when it comes to eating.....and I've been gaining over the last couple of weeks....I feel like I'm throwing in the towel......

I'd like to make a few friends to talk to....but, as funny as this might sound, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do that....

I'm in my mid-40s, married, no kids, have 80-100 pounds to lose, I work full time.....my husband is not the most supportive person for my weight loss efforts.....I struggle with committing to exercise and my eating problems come at night and on the weekends....

Slow and steady wins the race.
