Well, you've probably guessed - I'm really struggling this past couple of weeks. Now the struggle is to get started again, properly. I've been doing a bit here and there, enough to keep my cardio going, only just on some days.
I'm still using the dishwasher and the laundry to do squats.

Today - Wednesday is supposed to be my Strength Training Core Day, and I haven't achieved this in how many months?
Today - I achieved emoticon
I did 2 x 12, twice, of each of: seated crunches, seated back arches, torso twists(lower body), torso twists (upper body) oblique stretches.
I also did 3 x 12 wall push-ups - I thought that was Core, but apparently it's Upper Body.
And I did about 40 squats (I already know that's Lower Body).

So counting
28 minutes Strength Training
42 minutes Cardio (grocery shopping, very quickly, also laundry and dishwasher)

Total 70 minutes plus various stretching.
I feel the better for it - hope I still feel the same in the morning emoticon

Total run time 11 minutes & 1.213 miles
- Walked 3 min. @ 4 mph 11 times = 2.2 miles
Total cals. burned on tread = 179

Other stuff:
- 15 min. ABS video = 60 cals.
- Days 3,4,&6 as one thing = 21 min. & 86 cals.
- 20 min. Dumbbell workout = 86 cals.
- day 7 twice = 18 min. & 70 cals.

Sorry again about not posting on time or the right day to be more accurate! Just never enough time! So here's my report for Monday. Even better than Sunday! YAY! It's not working though!:(( Maybe it'll just kick in one day!

- Ran 1 Min. @ 6 mph 16 times = 1.6 mile
- Walked 3 min. @ 4 mph 15 times = 3 miles
- Walked 60 min. @ 4 mph = 4 miles

Other stuff:
- !5 min. ABS video twice
- Days 3,4,&6 as one thing = 21 min. & 86 cals.

Hope to see you posting again soon C! But in the meantime enjoy your life! I got a taste of that and it was AWESOME!

I know you were busy C. I just plain forgot to post here yesterday! OOPS!
So here's my report for Sunday! MUCH, MUCH better than anticipated! I got a second wind at 7PM!

- Walked 4 miles and thought that would be it
AFTER 7PM:
- Ran 1 Min. @ 6 mph 10 times = 1 mile
- Walked 3 min. @ 4 mph 10 times = 2 miles
- Walked 9 min. @ 4 mph = 0.6 mile

Other stuff:
- Day 7 twice
- !5 min. ABS video
- 20 min. Dumbbell workout video

I hear you!
In fact, heading for TV right now - Come Dine With Me (a "special" cos we're apparently in the middle of a Rugby International!?)
Then a half hour pause, then Big Brother - Series 12 Day 1, with the new folk coming in.

No strength work today.
But I was on my feet for just over 2 hours in the kilt shop - so I had to keep moving around, for my joints and for my foot-aches!
But I coped with it all much, much better than I did a couple of years ago for DS older.

So I can't even give much in the way of times or anything today - just I know that I kept moving, then I came home and made us all a cuppa, went and sat down and dozed for about 1/2 hour!

Anyway - Love you and leave you, for now - TV is calling.

Don't feel bad about the doze! emoticon I was going to get an extra mile walk in today but sat on the couch and just doodled around on my computer during that time instead!

Here's what I did do:
- ran 1 minute @ 6 MPH 15 times = 1.5 miles
- walked a total of 6 miles @ between 4 & 4.3 MPH = 6.2 miles

You are having some busy days girlfriend! That's always nice cuz you're still burning calories but don't have to THINK about it!

And, the getting back to the strength has yet to be done! Maybe a tiny bit of tummy stuff B4 TV. We have Big Brother & Football tonight!

Enjoy the stuff, and keep it within your control.
I have faith in you. And I'm so thrilled to see you're starting back slowly (for you).

Today - I got my boy, fine.
But I didn't get out for a walk, despite the weather being fine - I sat and dozed a wee bit instead.
Well - you know it takes it out of me to do that double run. But I didn't feel as tired (despite the wee doze) as I have in the past. I'll need to see what tomorrow brings cos that's usually when the tiredness hits me. And we'll be out nearly all day tomorrow, seeing to this kilt stuff.
But I'm not feeling in any way downcast.

Today, I should have done a 30 minute walk. But because of circumstances, I only got 2 x 20 minutes.
I'll cope with that, given that my various aches aren't really any the worse for today's driving or walking.

Tomorrow, I'll be out all day, on my feet all day - but DH will be treating us to lunch at a caff that's local to the kilt shop.
Tomorrow should also be Upper Body WorkOut - so I may still get that done, later in the day. Like while I'm cooking the dinner, or something. It really depends when we get back here!

Looking forward to hearing what folk have done today.

Today was my 1st REAL workout day since last Thursday. Still no strength but I will do that WITH the cardio tomorrow!

Today,
- Ran 1.5 miles @ 6 MPH
- Walked 6 miles @ 4 MPH

Felt good to sweat like a horse again! I feel like I get all kinds of nasty's out when I do that!

I have missed posting here but did come by and keep up with what was going on!;))

Christine, Your words are running through my head and I'm listening! I'm NOT jumping in BTTW! You know what that stands for. I'm starting with enough to feel like I can't go any more and then a little more and not more than that! Tomorrow is another day and I'm happy right now. I'm not frustrated and feeling pressured. So Now it's time for some red meat, peas & MAYBE a little salad! I'm not really that hungery cuz I ate a huge plate of dorito's with tons of cheese, Jalapenos and some salsa!!! MMMMM! Shouldn't have but no regrets! emoticon

You're more than welcome to join in, RubyEmma!

Tipy and I just try to keep things going - but it's always fun to have someone else come by.
I enjoy being able to just 'write down what I've done today'. And have someone else there to gee me up when I'm down, or cheer me on when I'm doing!
And it's even more fun when i can see what other folk are doing.

Today was almost a total by-pass for me.
I did manage 20 minutes with the dishwasher.
But no laundry, no extra cleaning, no shopping..............
But, also - my left foot is feeling so much better now from being on the magnets so much. And my right foot and knee are happier. As also my left hip.
So, not a waste of time, so long as I get started again, now.

Tomorrow, Thursday, should be a cardio day.
All my plans got changed tonight. I have to head for DS younger tomorrow and bring him back here, so we can take him to the kilt shop on Friday to get him all measured up for an outfit for his 21st birthday. Same idea as older son.
I'm just hoping it'll be dry tomorrow, so I can get out for a walk in the afternoon after I get back.

I should still manage to be here at SP, even though having DS younger at home.
He has Uni work he needs to be doing - laptops are such a joy for students, now.
Anyway, all being well, I should still be here, so I'm looking forward to getting a couple of different posts tomorrow!

My left heel is aching, so a couple of days off walking and a couple of nights on magnets should help.
Tomorrow is Lower Body WorkOut for me, so I can still get my leg joints exercised.

I had another good day today, even though I deliberately cut it short to go back to the magnets this morning.
25 minutes - extra cleaning
10 minutes - dishwasher
20 minutes - shop and carpark
and
60 minutes walking indoors!
Plus at least 10 minutes stretching today.

I was supposed to be doing a 1.5 mile walk today, but it was raining right through to mid afternoon.
So, as I was missing my walk with my friend today, for her reasons, and again on Thursday, for my reasons, we decided we'd walk tomorrow (Wednesday). And now I've had to cancel that as well - because of DH and older son. And now DH's arrangements have changed again. I'm not going to muck my friend around with DH's crap, though.
So tomorrow will be that machine from H**l for me. Let's see if I can manage 3 x2 1/2 minutes - or even 2 x 3 minutes would be a wee increase.

So, my intended 1.5 mile walk outdoors (for which I had already worked out the route) had to get done indoors today - after I'd done other stuff and been out to the shop. So I decided - I watch TV from 5.00 - 6.00 - I'll walk for that hour!
7,500 steps - so sort of 3 3/4 miles!
And I did it in intervals: slow, medium, slow, medium, fast, medium, slow, medium, fast, medium, fast, medium, slow, medium, slow.
DH came in half way through and started to speak to me - and I started counting out loud. So he backed off, and I let him know I was on a timed counted walk, and couldn't stop.
He stood and watched for a few hundred steps (like about 8 or 9 times across and back, if not more). Laughed at me and went away. I so don't care about that - he's the loser for not getting on with stuff.
Cos I was also watching TV, I had to just use the width of the sitting room and into the hall and turn! So it looked silly - but again, I don't care, cos I'm getting a benefit from it.

So today is an extra whammy - cos I've exceeded the 10,000 steps for the day, today.
But I am so looking forward to getting my ankles and feet onto the magnets tonight!
So I'll finish here, so I can get my dinner, and then get to bed.

Tomorrow will be cross-training of some kind: either up and down the stairs or the elliptical.
And I have to be up by 8.00, because it's bin day - ordinary bin, so the kitchen bin, plus bathroom and sitting room, and my bedroom bin - that's usually the bag well full.

I'll need to go an look at my messages an mail, now!

LOL! I WIN!:)) I am missing something about what you meant about No matter how long I go in a day?" You mean you think I'm doing too much? I am only going for a deficit of 500/day. With the calories in I am coming up with I HAVE to do that much! But I have the time and energy right now. I will mail you about why in a little more detail and explain some stuff.

So my friend! Talking about doing A LOT! You had a very productive day. I think it's awesome that DH is even THINKING along these lines! To me that says he sees you getting healthy and he wants to do the same so he can hang around with you as long as possible. He doesn't want to be sickly while you're turning back the clock on yourself. I think it's sweet! emoticon

HA! I have something to say about what you were doing in the kitchen today but e-mail that as well!;)) You'll see why!

OOOH! Shakin' man!!! That was a lot of weight lifting today. Those videos have you supporting your body weight too! Plus I put the 30 extra pounds on my chest for all my crunches. Even doing the videos!

So get that hubby off his butt and on the elliptical! LOL;)) Make sure you get your time on it too though. How are you sleeping these days? I've been doing good. Most days I AM up and doing something by 9:30 AM. But something always happens so even when I feel strong and get through a lot back to back w/o really stopping, I still don't have enough time for everything! Like today a friend called and set me back 45 minutes but I NEEDED a break. I don't pace like you do!

So ready for another hard day tomorrow but I can't dilly dally cuz I actually have something to do tomorrow! It should be fun but I don't know if it will actually happen. We'll see!

Monday, 9.25

I was about to go get my dinner when my finger inadvertently clicked the next mail!
So - you win emoticon
But it will be fairly short because food beckons emoticon

Well done you for yesterday.
The activity time makes a difference - regardless of how long you keep going in a day. Girl - you know this already, so I'll stop there!

Today I had a pretty productive day -
20 minutes of Lower Body Workout, so 4 x 15 each of
standing hip adductors
standing hip abductors
calf raises
seated leg extensions
plus
12 x 5 squats

Also
2 x 2 1/2 minutes on that elliptical
10 - laundry, and
15 - dishwasher

I also did a few odds and ends of extra cleaning, but I didn't time anything and can't quantify it.

Plus - I did some baking for DH, at last. I got the pineapple loaves made today.
I'll need to freeze at least 2 of the 4 loaves, this time, as last time the last loaf and a bit were getting to need to be sliced and buttered (or whatever spread we were using).

I'm also working on cooking and freezing portions of barley, and also getting some types of beans soaked, cooked and ready for freezing.

To achieve all that, I'll really need to menu-plan from what's in the big freezer just now, so I can create space, get it defrosted, and then add stuff we're going to be needing now.

And I was thinking that this exercise stuff was enough for physical AND mental.
Obviously not.........

DH has been in the sitting room today, and looked into the dining room - from where he was standing he could see that the elliptical looked fairly clear for work - guess who ignored what!
I'm not minded yet to tell him it's been clear for using for nearly a week - just yet. I'd like to clear just one more box at the rear of that devil-machine.
Then I'll be expecting him to get his act together, despite his knee and his ulcer. He has said he reckons he needs to get walking - so he should be ellipting, any day now!

Tomorrow - I have walking with my local friend, all being well.
And DH is is away from about 9.00am till sometime later in the day.

Sunday, 12:10AM for Saturday!;))

Well, you know your body has to feel good to be able to perform well or you might get hurt. So never feel bad about that!;)) I was so sleepy today it took me till 5:30PM Sat. ya know, to get around to the 1st set of my schedule!!! I finished at 11:25 pm!!! But, I got it done! I'll list it for you now. emoticon emoticon

- Walk a total of 2 hrs @ 4mph = 295 cals.
- 20 minute Dumbbell workout video, once
- 15 min. Abs video, Twice = 30 min.
- Day 7, 9 min. ABS video, 4 times = 36 min.
- Days 3, 4 & 6 as one thing, Twice = 42 min.

I have done exactly thing for 3 days in a row. I am whooped! But I feel strong and I think some of my loose skin contracted! I looked down my shirt while I was in a plank for the umpteenth time and it didn't seem so obnoxious! YAY!;)) Now the program is to cut calories down and dial back the exercise. Believe it or not BOTH are going to be difficult! I know that sounds weird but I'm on a role of sorts! HAHA!!!

Another day halved by staying in bed - but it isn't purely laziness. Mostly I go back for the extra magnet time - it's not my fault if I fall back asleep (which only happens about half the time).
I had a try at DH's new gizmo on Thursday, and I reckon it could make a big difference to most of my joints. The Acupuncture points that would help most of my joints - well, the majority actually could be dealt with through just 1 point!
So I've said to DH that I'll make a point of using the gizom regularly once he comes home from this weekend.

You're doing really well again, now that you're apparently over that iffy time. Could just be that TOM is beginning to change your hormones a wee bit.
I found it well annoying going from a monthly routine to not knowing what was happening., or when. And it did start with less physically obvious changes.
However - don't worry about TOM and its aftermath - it's so NOT worth it.

Today -
W1D3 of the 5-week walking training - so I did my mile. Outside. On my own (DH is away this weekend). But, being on my own, I could go at my own pace, which was in some ways easier.
I also did 13 minutes walking for laundry, and 10 minutes for d'washer.
Yes - Saturday - I don't push myself usually, Saturday or Sunday.
But tomorrow, I'll have to do W1D4 - so either rest or cross-training. I can't see me resting and doing absolutely nothing, can you?

Then - Monday is Lower Body WorkOut day for me - and that's the one strength training of the 3 that I usually manage to do some of.
These 2 programmes are not working in synch, very well. Or maybe they are - I'm just too tired and getting to be too hungry now to work it out.

You're doing a fabulous job!!! Remember to be nice to yourself!!! YES!!! Your joints WILL get stronger! I can't believe how much better my knees are since I started running! It's fine to take a day or two off but you will have to work through some discomfort. Also , when you feel like stopping DON'T!!! Go another 5 minutes. I know when I even just walk at the 2.2 mile mark I ALWAYS want to quit! But then you get passed a wall of sorts and it does get easier. And I'm just talking about during the session at hand! emoticon

Ok, It's 1:51AM Saturday So I'm just going to say, I did EXACTLY the same thing I did Friday that I did Thursday! 795 calories were burned during working out! emoticon emoticon I have been getting up and getting on the tread to start my day B4 I'm really even awake But I know I wont do it if i don't do it that way!;)) I have only been walking because of the high calorie burn and running just takes too much out of me. I'm going for #'s right now NOT intensity. I will start back with the intervals on Sunday if I'm still alive after Saturday & another 795 burned calories. My cal. intake/day this week was over 1900! OOPS! It might even go higher yet! I ate junk food and enjoyed it even though it gave me a headache and I gained a little weight! I am fine with it. I am obviously keeping an eye on things and not just letting it slide!;))
Many emoticon to you my friend! Keep doing the emoticon job! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!! HONESTLY! I wish I had more time I feel so aloof right now. But, this too shall pass! I'll get on a more even keel, HOPEFULLY SOON!;))

Friday (again), 10.25pm

Not a brilliant start to the day, yet again.
I sometimes feel that I'm losing focus, or that I'm over-extended in what I'm trying to fit in to a day.
In reality - I just need to get back to getting up, so that I have a day, and not just part of it!

Well, in my part day today I managed -

16 minutes - Upper Body Workout with weights (a filled 500ml bottle of water weighs 1 1/4 lb)
2 x 12 each of -
Alternating Biceps Curls,
Lateral Raises,
Hammer Curls,
Chest Press,
Flys,
Seated Concentration Curls,
Seated Shoulder Press
plus
a 5 minute Stretch

Also, cardio -
3 minutes on the Elliptical
30 - walking - Co-op carpark, shopping, and binning some plastic bottles.

Yes - I actually forced myself onto that d****d machine.
I started off by setting my timer for 5 minutes - but then I decided to do just 100 "steps" left and right.
I reckon it was a good decision, because I came off and had to walk around and shake my legs out to ease the tightness in my hips. and I didn't try it again today.
But I reckon I can build this up - and my joints won't react too badly if I do it carefully.
Also - this was day 2 of the 5 week walking training plan. And it said "rest or cross train". So I cross-trained, even though it was only just under 3 minutes.

And anyway - a couple of times this afternoon, when I was relly needing the toilet - i joged along the hall rather than just walking!
Yes - when I feel I can do a bit of jogging (like the other day when the rain came on just before DH and I got home) I am definitely feeling much more positive and able.

And - I actually did my strength training today - major feel-good factor as well.

And I weighed myself today - for the 5% challenge, cos I don't know exactly what's what over the weekend - and that's another 1 lb down.

Oh, that's great! You did lots of stuff regardless! emoticon emoticon

OMG! I'm about half dead right now! I finished my day workout at 10:22PM! I started at 9:15AM! NO! I didn't workout that whole time!;)) LOL! But I did burn 795 calories!!! SERIOUSLY! Here's how I did it!

- walked 8 miles @ 4mph= 2 hrs
- 15 min. ABS video, twice=30 min.
- 20 dumbbell workout, once=20 min.
The rest was from the workouts for the sweatsuit to swimsuit thing.
- Day 3,4,& 6 as one thing, twice=42 min.
- Day 7 a total of 4 times-36 min.
I am supposed to do this again tomorrow and Saturday! HOLY MOLEY!!! HOW???? Maybe I'll recoop. overnight! I sure hope so. I got 2 loads of laundry done AND cooked dinner. Let's just say there wasn't a whole lot of wasted time on my Thursday!

Sorry I didn't get here last night.
I had a fun night instead!!!!!!!
DH went up to Glasgow to fetch older son, back here for dinner. Then took son to the airport this morning for his flight out for a week. And we managed to agree that we'll get him from the airport when he comes back and take him home next day.

Yesterday -
40 minutes for laundry
25 minutes for dishwasher
40 minutes good cleaning work.

Included in that was 45 squats - 9 x 5

Today -
20 minutes cleaning
30 minutes indoor walking (20 m/min)
10 minutes d'washer (much more quickly than usual, as i was expecting someone at the door).

Today I didn't feel like doing anything, after all the work yesterday. And yet I managed that lot - thank goodness younger son phoned! Cos that was my 30 minutes walking!!!!!
See - even pacing on the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've signed up for the "trick 'n' treat" Virtual Racing challenge, for the 5K Walk. And the 5 weeks of the 5K Walk Training programme.
I reckon this will be a good beginning to a training programme for my challenge for next May (when I'll need to try to do 2 walks in the local Walking Festival).

And now - I need to get my dinner.
Not too bad since I didn't have lunch till about 3.00pm today.
But I'm getting hungry again, and I'm tired. So I really need to go and do something about it :)

I decided I'd had it with my fish tanks being GROSS BEYOND comprehension!!! SO! I cleaned the ten gallon one upstairs. I have 2 but the fish in one died cuz he suffocated in the goo and his filter had stopped! I committed fishoside by neglect!:(( I don't really neglect them I feed 'em twice a day and change their filters more than some but obviously not enough! Poor little thing. It was a Jack Dempsey too. I have another one downstairs. They can't live with each other or any other fish because they are aggressive! I always feel bad when they die and the tank is in a bad way cuz then it's all my fault. There is really no excuse except laziness! Their tenuous little lives are in hands. They are completely at my mercy!!! BAD FISH MOMMY!:( ANY WAY!!! The one that I cleaned upstairs is all squared away for at least a week. Except food of course. Then I watched an hour of TV. Then went back to the other house & cleaned the 38 gallon tank!!!! OMG! YUCK! But now it's all sparkly and clean water. I had done the 55 & 45 just a little bit ago. Maybe a week ago I don't remember. But they are good to go too. I came back and watch another hour of TV & then went and was going to just walk but got bored so I ran too. So I'll go from here with my list.

CARDIO:

Thanks for your kind support.
I do try, though it's not always whole-heartedly. But then, I think that' also true of most folk. Once I get started, I'm fine. Yes - how often does that phrase get written on SP daily!

Today, I was done, and didn't want to know. I ws al for phoning my friend to cancel meeting today, but stopped myself.
So I went round and we did a shorter walk than we've been doing - still 1 1/4 miles, though! But we were going more slowly than usual, and even so, I was out of breath.
Today was NOT hot and sunny! Cloudy and cool, and near to rain!
I also did some grocery shopping (and putting away, once I got home).
And 10 minutes good cleaning work.

So I've done 95 minutes today - just shows how slowly I walked this afternoon. But it still all counts.
I'm heading for an early night tonight - things to do tomorrow, that didn't get done today. So I need to be up and doing.

Have a happy day today.

Report for Monday!

OMG! When mine tries to tell me anything is just a huge waste of time! He uses 10 times more words than are necessary! LOL:))

Christine you are really on the ball! You are doing so great!

CARDIO:
- Days 3,4,&6 as one thing. You know the ones.
- Day 7, 9 minute Abs video, twice
- 15 Abs video
- Walked 52 minutes at 4 mph=3.5 miles

Strength:
- Behind the head triceps lifts 2@15
- Lying Dumbbell Triceps Extensions 2@15

All this was done B4 noon when my friend came!!!;)) Except, the walk and the behind the head triceps lifts! Good job on me, huh? I have been sleeping really well. Not real long. You know, not a lot of hours but excellent quality!!! I wake up real groggy and disoriented like a little kid nut I go & then brush my teeth and then I'm ready to hit it!!! It has been awesome! I hope I didn't just jinx myself! LOL;)) I have taken to droolin' too!!! HAHAHA!!! GROSS! But I know I've been sleepin' REALLY HARD when I wake up like that.

My time with my friend was super! She looks the same but she's 20 instead of 12! I would've recognized those eyes anywhere. We didn't even get a chance to eat cuz we didn't stop talking! She is upset with her weight too. She is a little fluffy but at her age it'll go fast when she works at it just a little. SHE'S SO CUTE!!!!

Monday, well Tuesday, 00.45am

Yes, I know - but my computer threw a flaky, this evening. I got booted up properly and straight on to SP - 3 minutes before midnight!
However, I got a "how to deal with that particular problem" workshop from DH - and I think I may even manage to remember some of it this time emoticon

Today -
50 squats - mainly in sets of 5
30 minutes total for all the laundry
10 minutes for the dishwasher
10 minutes tearing cardboard
15 minutes cleaning
and another
25 minute walk of a mile with DH

Hope you've had a great day with your friend - that pleasure, enjoyment and laughter is as good as a work out - it just never gets measured!

HI AGAIN!

My post was zapped!!! DAM* IT!

I learned a lot during my last little freak out episode! Very helpful! I CAN EAT A TON AND NOT GO OVE 128! THAT'S COOL! If I pay just a little attention & practice a little restraint! I WILL HAVE THIS LICKED!

That's for a great post! I LOVE walking it the rain! OH MAYBE YOU'LL try more jogging???? It does aome awesome stuff for your body! NOt pushin' though. I hate it most of the time myself! LOL;))

So My friend got messed up about Sunday cuz boyfriend read TXT and didn't tell her! She thought I flaked on her! I don't do that!

So For Sunday cuz I hadn't psyched myself up for a lot!
Cardio:
-Ran 1 min. @ 6 mph 15 times
- Walked a total of 45 minutes @ 4 mph!

Good sweat good workout small as it was! Not going to be even this tomorrow probably since my friend is coming! AWW SHUCKS!!!;)) LOL;))

Today -
Walk with DH - 25m/ml
5 - walking in the house, "cool down" and stretch from out door walk, though hardly required
12 - laundry
10 - d'washer
25 - shopping and car park.

Comment on how I felt today - it came on to rain, fairly heavily, the last 10 minutes of walking with DH. Had I been with DS older, I'd have been quite happy trying to jog home! That is how much fitter I feel! Last time I did any jogging or attempt at running was a few years ago, when I was doing the 2 hours karate training each Saturday with older son, so over 6 years ago!

TOM's a bummer that mucks up all your schedules and the pattern of results.
Then changing from that is another bummer - most difficult time of all to try to lose weight as the norm is weight gain, from all my reading.
Then you get spat out the other side, and wonder what's been going on, and what's going to happen next emoticon
Sorry - I'm not too far along htis road yet, so I can't give you the benefit of experience, yet!
I can't say that "fluffy" was ever a description I'd have used - unless concrete can be fluffy?

So - tomorrow's another day, and another week.
Let's see where it takes us - what adventure can we get up to in our minds, as we plod on regardless with our bodies?!

Sorry bout no friday! I did the usual tread and videos and lots more strength. It's working too!:)) I just have been so short on time cuz I have been doing stuff around the house! Christine type cleaning! SERIOUSLY getting after stuff! I think about you when I go through a load of papers to throw out. We have these weird little bugs!! I don't know what they are. But when A LOT of paper is sitting around they come out! YUCK! I got a whole garbage can (30 gallons) and then some out of here this week and will probably have the same again tomorrow! I decided NOT to dye the hair! I still want to but I talked to my sister and she wants to see it natural! So, natural it will be! She's the boss of me!!! LOL!;)) J/K! But, I do respect her opinion and I would like to see what SHE thinks of the awfulness of it! HAHA;)

So, I'm not going to list my exercise for Friday. If you want to see out of curiosity, you can look at my tracker. Same for Saturday! My friend is still coming for our visit so I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I will do about exercise. Probably NOTHING!:)) I haven't taken a whole day off in while and my weight seems to be stabilizing at 126 which IS AWESOME! I have eaten over 1500/day for the last 2 weeks and if I could just manage to knock a couple hundred off each day for the next week! I SHOULD go back to 122.4. But 126 seems to another plateau for me. My TOM is visiting so things are wacky and I guess that's why things were so nutty lately. I still feel "FLUFFY" as one of my other SP friends says! HAHAHAHA!!! I think that's SO CUTE!

So have an awesome Sunday! I will see you at some point!

Saturday, 8.30pm

Sorry - I missed yesterday - tired, achy, nauseous - so I went to bed.

Friday -
Went for a walk with DH - a 30 minute mile, in total.
Plus 10 minutes walking after we got back home.
Plus 10 minutes for the dishwasher.

Saturday -
Went for a walk with DH - a 24 minute mile, in total. But his leg was sorer after we got home today than it had been yesterday.
20 minutes - Laundry - got stuff hung out today, so more "exercise" involved.
40 minutes - dishwasher - emptied, refilled it then ran it again, to get some extras cleaned - and got it emptied again.
90 squats. I never know how to count them. I usually go for 2 x 15, but usually it's 6 x 5. It's just that there isn't always a full space between groups. Like today's were all within about 25 minutes. And, by halfway through, I was definitely pacing myself to 5 at a time. So I think I'll have to change my settings and adjust to multiples of 5. Just so long as I do at least 6 lots of 5 (= 2 x 15)! The nice thing about doing the squats with the dishwasher (or with the washing machine) is that I can have some ordinary movement in between each lot of 5, to save my knees. But 90!

I'll look forward to reading what all you've managed to do yesterday and so far today.


It was after 4.00pm when we went out for our walk today - same as yesterday. However, where yesterday there were hints of rain, and it started to rain just as we were on the last stretch home, today was warm (for me: hot). Like, I'll put cool cream on my face and arms at bedtime to moisurise the effects of the sun!
However, DH has said that though his leg was a bit sorer today, he reckons he'd be better to do a bit more walking - (a) he didn't ask about the elliptical, and (b) it would be good for us both.
I just don't know if the walking together will continue once he eventually gets back to the golf!
But - if he golfed earlier in the day, we could walk later afternoon. And that could happen also on the days I meet up with my friend. Weather permitting emoticon emoticon HAHAHAHA!

Haven't managed the Core training this week - again.
Haven't managed the Upper Body strength training this week - again.
BUT - my time on my magnets this past week has paid off to some extent (at last), cos my right shoulder has nowhere near the pain I was having, and is nowhere near as weak as it has been for a load of weeks.

SORRY AGAIN! Here's what I did on Thursday. I DID A LOT!!

Cardio:
- Run 1 min@ 6mph 10 times
- Walk 7.5 min. @ 4mph 8 times
- Walk 15 min. @ 4mph once
- 15 min. ABS video
- Cleaned 45 gallon fish tank - I just took the amount of calories burned during 10 minutes of heavy cleaning.

Strength:
Let's just say I did between about 90 minutes of 15 different moves. That's a LONG list!!! If you want to see the individual exercises you can look at my tracker. This will be really short, cos my dinner is just about ready, and I am hungry tonight.

Today was Cardio for me.
22 minutes - (about 1 mile) - 15 times up and down the stairs - taking something with me each way nearly every time, plus some occasions walking within downstairs.
30 minutes walking (about 2 miles), just downstairs on the level.
20 minutes - car park and shopping
10 minutes - carrying stuff

82 minutes is fine with me.
I tried to do stretching etc after going up and down the stairs - I hope it has worked.

Sorry to cut short, but I really need to get my dinner.

Well, today was a bit of a bust emoticon
At least, we found a parking spot about 1/2 mile from Car Phone Warehouse (just a shop on the High Street). So I got over a mile walked, though at DH's slower pace. The deal is well worth the effort - but I'll wait for a while before using my new sim card, as I have quite a bit of talk and text time left on my current card. Thank goodness I didn't just say yes, in the shop, to go ahead and update things for me. I'd have lost a load! And even though I'll use my current sim card till it's out of funds - the new deal is so cheap, it won't matter too much.

So my claim for today's exercise -
45 minutes walking at 30 min/mile
25 minutes dishwasher - and I didn;t even bother with the squats today. My right knee is sore.

Oh well - 70 minutes is so much better than a year ago or so! Even though I didn't do any core exercises.
I really must get myself sorted out with the strength exercises - I'm only trying to do 1 each of the 3 areas once a week. And my body needs this.
I will have to start getting up in the morning. Full stop. No discussion. That IS what I need to do. Even 10.30 would be better than lunch time. I will so have to get my head around this, and just start doing it.

I think my off-putter just now is that DH is around and sleeping on till late morning. And then, I also want time on my magnet pads for the inside of my right knee. So that is after DH gets up. So there I am - into lunch time, without even noticing it emoticon
I need to get back to my "selfish" thinking - about me. Even though most of my needs are to do with the shared household. I am still trying so hard to make me think that I'm doing things for me. Cos then I'll get them done.

End of incipient rant. I'm not going back there - I need to move forwards.

DH is away at a Union thing tomorrow, all day - Glasgow University! He'll be away really early, cos he has to be ready for "opening" at 8.30 am. At least, he'll miss the worst of the traffic emoticon

Tuesday, 10.15pm

Some good, steady exercise there, for your Monday.

Today I have done -
32 minutes - walking (2 miles)
20 minutes - dishwasher
20 minutes - heavy cleaning
5 minutes - modified jumping jacks, so 2 x 50!
plus
10 minutes squats (4 x 15)
plus
some stretching

I'm quite happy with today!
Tomorrow should be Core.
DH has already suggested we go into town and get new sim cards for our phones - Car Phone Warehouse is doing an apparently amazing deal, with only a 1 month contract on it! So we'll go for it, and I'll keep my current sim card without any transfers, till the month is up - just till I make sure that the new offer is for real. And I so don't want to give up our current phone numbers.

Monday, 11.10pm

Today I did manage a bit of Lower Body Work Out - just 2 x 15s instead of the 4 x 15s I've been doing. But I did squats (which was 4 x 15), seated leg raises, abductions and adductions - so not even my usual range of stuff, either.
Who cares - I made myself do stuff, that's what matters.
I also did 20 minutes with the dishwasher, 15 minutes of good hard cleaning, 5 minutes tearing up cardboard, and 5 minutes carrying bags full of books.

And tomorrow should be major cardio.
I think I'll maybe do some karate to spin it out a bit!

Anyways, I'll finish at that for now - my internet is moving so slowly - even me in my tortoise persona could beat it emoticon

Thank you for the tip and the notice of my channeling abilities yesterday! I'm up 2 pounds from last week but I ate WAY TOO MUCH!!! Not enough exercise to go with it. Not nearly possible either!!!;)) I WENT NUTS with the calories!!!

You've been doing great the past couple of days, Tipy. Well done.
If you're finding your food too erratic - take a bit of time out and try some menu planning. It can take a while, especially to start with. But it also gives you an idea of what shopping you need, and so it can save you a bit of money too.

I'm really pleased for you that you channelled your anger, and that you were able to harness it to get through the exercising.

I felt that for me, Friday was a wipe out? Well, Saturday was even worse, cos I can't claim d'washer or laundry or anything!
I've swallowed my pride and just posted 0 for exercise yesterday, everywhere I need to. Yes I was moving around, but not as focussed-ly that I would claim *exercise* minutes. I'm not hugely upset, because I knew this would happen, and I most certainly was NOT totally inactive.
I'll mail you - it was a brilliant day!

Today, I've managed to scrape 30 minutes cardio: 20 minutes shopping etc and 10 minutes d'washer. Again, there's been more activity. Again, I don't reckon it's been focussed enough for me to count it.
Again, I'm not down-hearted.

I have to survive this week without my local friend - she's away on holiday for a week with her husband.
My intentions - if I can make myself do this - are to get up at a reasonable time in the morning each day, and actually give myself a day's worth of time to get on with stuff. AND THEN to actually get on with some of that stuff!
Let's see!

I really shouldn't worry so much about my weight. It's the way I came up. My sister was anorexic & bulimic my whole childhood! I always and still do feel and look fat next to her. But I have come to realize that she is also a completely different build from me. Long and lean. She would look chubby at my weight even though she 4.5 inches taller. We are just different. On the note and just a little personal tid bit. As different as we look, we are that different in the way we live our lives too!!! So weird how that happens sometimes.

So as far as me today. I am more calm. I busted my bum on the tread 2day! Meaning I worked SUPER hard. No strength yet BUT 2day it is a MUST!!! But I wanted to get this typed now and I'll come back and edit when I've finished or at least B4 I go to bed! Speaking of which I slept a bit more and better Thursday night. 1st off my scale said 126.6 Friday, today. That's good. I know things will turn around when the time is right because I am doing what I'm supposed to. The food is a little nutty this week but that's to be expected sometimes when I am always denying myself things. emoticon

SO today so far:
CADRIO:
- run 1 min. @ 6 mph 10 times = 77 calories
- run 1 min. @ 6.2 mph 10 times = 77 calories
- walk 1.5 min. @ 4mph 20 times = 74 calories
- walk 45 min. @ 4mph once = 110
THIS WAS NOT EASY AND A BIT MUCH! But the anger I had going on gives me energy to burn off! emoticon

EDIT: OK, It's 3 AM! I finished my other stuff around 12AM! I count it as Cardio! But can be either SO which ever!:))
- Day 7, 9 min. abs video twice = 67 calories
- 15 min. abs video = 57 calories
- Days 3, 4 & 6 back to back = 82 calories

HAve a good time with MIL Saturday. Your sons will be there too right? You know ease any tension. LOL;))

As for being a wash for you today. Well, I'm sure you did more than you realize because you just weren't thinking so hard about it being exercise!;))

Don't despair! I'm not going to go away ROFLMAO!

I read a lovely Blog tonight, but I couldn't find a place to click to share the link emoticon Maybe cos it was one of those high-lighted blogs - no idea.
It's the guy who started the Slowest Loser - and the first part of that blog, I just kept thinking about you. It was his bit about his last few pounds! And I just was thinking, Tipy needs to read this and find out how NOT to do those last few pounds. But it was really more about the difficulty of it, was where I was thinking of you.
I do appreciate that you have changed a whole load over the past umpteen months. Don't get me wrong. I just keep looking out for things that might help you in this last bit of challenge.

PMS and/or Pre-menopause may be part of it. Don't worry about it - I always reckoned that worrying about it made every little symptom much worse, for both PMS and menopause (the latter once I worked out what was going on - cause I've never really been my age).

I understand - NOW - that pre-menopause and the menopause itself can actually cause weight gain! So during that time, we're really working against ourselves! We have to work harder just to stay in place. Thoughts of reducing weight - this should be starred on all health and fitness sites as a no-go. Certainly, keep up the good habits of good food and exercise. But that really is only to stay in place and to not gain.
Actual weight loss during this time could possibly be a reason to see your doc and find out what's wrong!

I'm well pleased - NOW - that I gained only about 7 or 8 pounds during that whole process!

BUT - it now becomes even more difficult to shift the weight - that's the down side. Well, for me. For you - just work your way through whatever is happening, and even if nothing works for you right now to get rid of those last few pounds - in a few years time, they'll suddenly just disappear, without you even thinking about them. Well, so long as you've kept up good eating and good activity.

Today -
I was a wash-out!
I had 20 minutes with the dishwasher, and 15 minutes of heavy cleaning.
My mind has so not been on my own stuff today.

However at least most of my stuff is done and ready for the off, tomorrow.
I just have a couple of things to wrap for MIL's birthday presents, and a nice card to look out.
But meantime, I'm away for my dinner before it gets any later.
I have to be up in time to leave here by 9.00am emoticon

There's no way I'll be on line tomorrow - I reckon it'll be way after midnight before DH and I get home.
So I'll catch up with you, all being well, on Sunday.

That's it! hot, tired and frustrated! I did list a bunch of other stuff that I WILL do Friday as make-up! I don't feel like deleting everything and retyping it! I'll put a note at the bottom of my page!

Thanks for saying what you did! I KNOW! I SHOULD BE HAPPY where I am! But I have changed the way I think about stuff like you said too. Like, sure I'm unhappy about the 3 pound gain BUT unlike B4 I AM NOT just eating and whining about it. I am working out and TRYING NOT to eat everything in sight. I think it might be PMS but I NEVER KNOW!!! I never had a schedule like they say you're supposed to. I think I'm pre menopause too. I knwo I'm young for that but with the drinking, it is very possible. Anyway, kind of in a snit and don't ant it to rub off. Thank you for the awesome update! Hey have you been to the castle yet. You haven't said anything so I figure not! OH, I got a whole 2 hours of sleep Wednesday night. Actually it was from 10AM to 12PM Thursday morning!!! THAT has a lot to do with my weight gain too. Im sure! It's ok!:)) I'll get passed it! Just bare (sp.) with me!:)

Well done on what you did!
I cannot fully understand what you're going through re your weight - cos I've never been in that position!
But, from all I've read and heard, what you are feeling is probably pretty common amongst folk in that home stretch. You feel that you've managed to do all this weight-loss, and get yourself down to nearly where you want to be, and then can't manage that last wee bit.
I use the word "manage" not as "I can do it" but as in "I'll get it organised and sorted".
But you have to remember, at my weight, any exercise will burn more calories off, than would the same exercise for someone at your weight.
The less you have for losing, the more work seems to be needed.

I used to think that folk in your zone were just a bunch of moaning minnies! But I have more understanding now.
I used to think that folk in that end phase where you are should just concentrate more on that final bit of body sculpting, and not be thinking so much about the scales. The jury is still out on that one. I can see both sides of the argument now, which I didn't understand fully in the past. But I am now tending more towards watching the eating than paying more attention to the body sculpting. But they both need to play a major role.

Today - a total of 130 minutes!
15 - walking: I had to go to Asda for a few things - but I've been doing the shopping much more briskly since you mentioned doing so in one of the posts.
115 - Wii!
45 minutes Tennis, 30 minutes Table Tennis, and 40 minutes other fun things (archery, canoe-ing, frisbee, and wake boarding). The 40 minutes of other stuff was my share of the activity, as we were playing for nearly 2 3/4 hours!
I also did some shoulder and arm stretches at the end - that canoeing was amazing!

Away to get my dinner now - it'll just need a few minutes to reheat the veg.
Looking forward to your next report.

You're awesome though. I knew I could have my rant and you would respond with your take on things and I like that. I like we can talk openly and honestly to each other about these things. That makes us true friends, If we do feel differently about something we say so and there no negative vibes from the other one! You know? That's awesome. Why can't everyone do that instead of fighting about everything?

Here what I did:

Thanks, I have felt a bit better today.
It wasn't even a proper migraine - I think humidity and air pressure have a lot to answer for. I started to perk up slightly, yesterday evening - well it had started to rain by then. And it's been raining all day today, though easing off a bit at times. I thought I saw some lightning an hour or so ago, though I wasn't too sure whether I then heard thunder - but it was just a bit of a flash, so any thunder wold have been quite a few seconds later and probably very muted.
It's either that or I need to go to the optician - I've been warned that flashes of light could mean a detached retina!
I prefer to think it's the former, as my headache has reduced even more this evening.

Today -
3 x 15 squats
walking:
10 minutes @ 20 m/m
20 minutes @ 22m/m
15 minutes @ 26 m/m
heavy cleaning - 10 minutes
moving, carrying boxes - 5 minutes

Yes, I know, today should have been Core emoticon
But at least I did some work!

Tomorrow should be walking with my friend again. Maybe it'll still be raining and we'll have to play Wii tennis again! Or maybe we'll just get out for a walk again. She's away next week, so a cloudy dry day would be excellent for tomorrow!

I hear you on your rant - and agree with most of it.
Only thing I'd maybe argue the toss, is that they're taking jobs. Over here, it's the immigrants that do the jobs everyone else won't touch, apparently.
I don't quite see how that works, if they're here legally. They have to be paid the minimum wage, same as everyone else.
I reckon it's just that everyone else has been here too long and are expecting to be kept, specially cos they wouldn't lower themselves to do some of these jobs (I'm not just talking toilet attendant or servant - working in the fields to pick crops, stacking shelves in the supermarkets and shops, cleaning in offices and schools as well as home cleaning).
There are loads of jobs out there, for folk who are willing to do them.

My soap box on this subject is more about youngsters who have grown up expecting and demanding their rights to be given a living. And they shouldn't have to work for it. And if they don't get it, they'll just go out and take it.
And this is way to close to home at the moment - we've got riots happening in cities up and down the country apparently. I don't know what's started it all, but it's spreading, and it's nasty.
Where in the past, riots have been sparked off because of some perceived or actual behaviour by one group or another, a group with a specific axe to grind; this time around it seems to be mainly down to yobs and criminals - folk wanting to do damage and to steal.
At least one guy has posted a photo of himself on his Twitter page, or wherever!

OK - I'll side step my soap box for now, as well!

re whooping cough - before I was made redundant I worked in the office in a kiddies nursery/day care centre. We had parents who refused to keep their children away from the centre even when they had whooping cough and had been hospitalised for several days, and told NOT to bring their child back tot he nursery for fully a week. And those parents got quite annoyed when they were told to take their child away back home, or were phoned to come and collect them and told not to bring them back for a week.
Said parents were also the first to complain, it has to be said, if anyone else's child at nursery may have affected their own.

Me - I had major misgivings about working in a nursery/day care centre in the first place! But overcame most of my misgivings over the years I worked there. I saw the major positives that I hadn't been aware of, as well as the negatives.

Thank goodness I always come by here earlier than when I report! I don't know what happen to your post from yesterday! It was here earlier because I read it! I was sorry to hear you weren't feeling yourself on Tuesday! Has it been unusually humid over there? A lot of people here are complaining of the same..... Headaches! I have been fortunate to have escaped it so far! We REALLY need to close our boarders here because we are having diseases the U. S. hadn't seen since the 19th century!!! To many poor mexicans and the like coming in. I don't mind them coming but they take jobs, are illegal and get free health care than tax paying Americans subsidise ! (sp.) It makes me so mad! The one they tell us to look for if there are children is whooping cough!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Anyway that's my rant for the day. emoticon

So, I didn't do what I was supposed to today as far as my tummy goes but everything else I did more than expected so I guess it was ok. I bought new 15# weights yesterday, well Mon.. I LOVE THEM! I can do just about all my arm stuff with them but OH MY, A much more productive workout!!! YAY! I REALLY FEEL THE BURN!!!

So here goes:

Hello,

Tuesday (although it's now Wednesday, 1.00am)

Bad day for me.
I woke up with the most god-awful headache. A croaky voice. All sorts of aches and pains. and feeling sick as a pig.
I know - it sounds like the mother and father of all hangovers - but it wasn't!
I phoned my friend to say I didn't reckon I'd be fit to walk, and went back to bed for several hours, having taken headaches meds, and found a cold cloth for my forehead.

So I didn't get up till after 1.30 this afternoon - still not feeling brilliant, but definitely better than I was.
I did manage to get along to the shop this afternoon for the stuff I'd told DH last night that I'd get.
But I've hardly eaten today - and I still don't feel particularly hungry.
Also my head is still aching.
So I'll go get some toast or something, then get to bed.

Today, i have managed -
25 minutes for the shopping
10 miuntes of modified jumping jacks, plus a stretch after that (it was 6 x 15)
And 16 minutes walking in the sitting room while I watched TV. I was going to do more, but I'd done a mile, and decided that was enough.

Tomorrow is supposed to be Core plus some cardio.
Tomorrow is, I think, garden bins and black box - so I have stuff to put out.
So maybe I'll get up tomorrow in time to see to that stuff, then just stay up and see if I can do some other stuff too!

I'll away for now.
Looking forward to a better Wednesday!
