I too like slice fruit. I will slice apples, grapefruit, melon, etc. I probably would just eat a banana but I'm allergic, for my kids I will often have them grab a banana as we run out the door. I like to make sandwiches too, I think they travel well. Toast the bread to keep from being soggy and cut in four squares. One square makes a quick snack, wash it down with water.

i do smoothies for breakfast every day. i have a new favorite lunch that can be portable. i take a small tortilla and put it directly on the burner of the stove, set at middle temp. when it starts to puff and smoke i flip it, put on cheese, meat, lettuce, tomatos down the middle. when i can smell it i slide it off the heat and roll it like a wrap. its really really good!!!!
the whole thing takes under 3 mins to cook..so watch carefully!!

I like to make smoothies for either a light meal or snack. It really hits the spot when I'm in an ice cream mood. It's not really a finger food but it is portable.

Sorry to be late to the discussion, but to go along with Holly's ideas, I like whole grain crackers with almond butter. I've carried a small container of almond butter and some crackers in my backpack throughout this ordeal with my mom, and it's come in handy a few times. I also like fruit chips like apple, peach and pear - low cal and very yummy!

wasa crackers, whole wheat crackers, apple slices with peanut butter, blueberries, raspberries,

with the apples..if you core an apple then section slice it, then fill the core hole with peanut butter, you can put a rubber band around it and put it in a baggie and it will stay fresh.

Good morning!

I'm looking for some new ideas for snacks I can eat at my work desk. The following is the list of items I am currently working with:

Almonds
Dill Pickles
Cherry or Grape Tomatoes
Cheese cubes or slices
Baby Carrots & Hummus
Cucumber Slices
Deviled Eggs
Hard Boiled Eggs
Celery Sticks & Peanut Butter

I'm trying to avoid added sugar items and items made with white flour. Also, I'm working to eat my whole grain carbs as early in the day as possible.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
