I know what you mean about the cold and needing hot things. I love eating soup in the winter.

Update on the raw vegan diet in February. Wrong time of the year to go raw especially in one of the coldest winters, in forever here. I felt great but needed warm foods to deal with the cold weather OMG was I craving soup and hot beverages. I will definitely revisit the raw vegan idea this summer.

I am new to the team and also noticed that there wasn't much recent activity. My year started out a little rough with a heart attack and being diagnosed with diabetes but I am trying to get more active and change my diet. I have lost 4 pounds so far.

Tired of this super cold weather. Other than that, things are going well!

Aerial silks is what they do in circus Ole. The long pieces of fabric they do tricks on. (I can't do those really hard tricks up high.) I just started in October when an instructor from DC started having classes in Richmond. If you want to see pictures of our group, go to facebook and check out RVA aerial collaborative, host of sparrows. Our classes are every Tuesday at Dogtown Theatre on 15th Street.

My picture here is on an aerial silks hammock (what we use for aerial yoga). Lower to the ground and easier than the silks, but still fun and challenging.

Thanks for starting this thread. I come to this team most every day and huddle. I'm not very good at coming up with new topics. Glad to have some active Richmonders on board!

I love the mantra! I try to eat mostly unprocessed; my husband goes along with it pretty well.

I am in maintenance. So I don't have any weight loss goals--just to keep it off, stay active and eat healthy! My main goal is to keep the exercise interesting. After doing it for a long time, I am always looking for new things to try. Found pole classes in 2008. Still doing that. Aerial silks just came to Richmond in October. I have been doing that ever since, and I just went to a workshop in aerial yoga (easier than aerial silks but still fun and challenging!)

Zumba is fun especially in a group! There's lots of it around Richmond!

That's great that it's still going pretty well for you.
I have the Zumba DVD set and I agree, it is really fun. (Much more fun with other people though.)
Lol, I don't think that is something my family would appreciate. We' be back to processed foods in less than 2 weeks. I wish you much luck in weaning your family off of processed foods though!
Great mantra. =) I need to find myself a motto/mantra.

Hi, so far so good, day 17 and still on track. Started Zumba Sunday it's really fun. My major goal this year is non-processed foods I have the whole family doing it mwahaha.
My mantra this year: comes from a plant not made in a plant

When they go low "fart in their face" mwahahaha

I'm new to the team (and sparkpeople), and I was looking at the post dates on some of the topics and noticed no one has been active in this group since the 4th. Not to mention there is an inactive leader. So I just wanted to spark up a little conversation and ask how your new year is going.
Any new weight loss plans/methods you are going to/want to try?
Any new stresses?

My new year has started off a little rocky (i terms of life outside of weight loss)... I have been able to eat a little healthier, but that's about it. No exercise has entered my lifestyle as of yet. I plan to change that tomorrow. (Can't start right now because it's about 11:45 pm. )

Hope you are all doing well!

P.S. Did anyone make New Year Resolutions?
