I am happy you are seeing the progress with the pants! I have a few dresses I would like to fit back in, but I haven't tried them on..don't want to bust the zipper or have to call for help getting it back over my head! I am thinking about cleaning out my closet and getting rid of things that are too big, but my husband wants me to wait just in case...some encouragement. emoticon

I am motivated by a pair of pants I have hanging next to my bedroom mirror! I got them several years ago when I was ~30 pounds lighter. They are very nice, and I loved how I felt in them, and I want to feel that again. I try them on every couple of weeks. When I started I couldn't even pull them past my thighs, but now I can pull them over my hips (I can't button them yet, but one day soon...)!
Also, I am motivated by the progress I am seeing, not only on the scale, but in how my clothes fit, and how my running endurance is increasing. Every time that scale goes down a pound or I fit into that next size down pair of jeans, that motivates me to keep it up! To strive to meet that goal.

Because I have High blood pressure this is the driving force behind me eating better and working out. Not only that, But, I have a group of workout buddies that help me to stay on track as well. emoticon

Thanks, MaryJane- it feels silly, so I've not made one, but I may have to- especially with my race being this weekend the training will be lessening, so I'll NEED something!
My kids keep me motivated- I want them to see me being active to encourage them to be active. My son is a natural couch potato. :(

One thing that has helped me stay motivated is my vision collage. THE SPARK suggested that you make one, and when I first read it I thought it was silly. But I really wanted to succeed so figured I may as well try it. I made it to the amusement of my family and placed it in the bathroom. Everyday I see it and it reminds me why I want to lose-it is concrete and specific. About a week after I made it, my husband asked if I would put a few things on it for him...he also thought it was silly at first, but said it has helped him to stay focused and not give up!

Hi Richmond Sparkers!

Everyone has different goals and and motivations for making healthy lifestyle changes. Most of them do not occur instantly but are more often slow changes over time. What has helped you to stay motivated and focused so that you change did happen? After all we all want to be able to have our emoticon
