The Thanksgiving meals since I joined have been adventurous at best.
I went from cooking 10-14 items to just 4, because when you are a single mom it is more about making moments than trying to hide the table with food.
Plus, it made for a much happier wallet and waistline.
This year is already in my head and what I am thinking is everyone's favorites
collard greens, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese sweet potato pie with cool whip
drumsticks with cranberry sauce
and yes, I will be looking for the healthy options because I lost 3 pounds last week and I am just giddy!
Plus, I would like to have a visual reminder in more than one place. I am so forgetful!

I made a small Thanksgiving meal (one drumstick per person, 3 total with two sides and dessert) and was not full afterward. Made enough so that seconds could not happen for anyone.

I was hoping a little cutting back and it would fall off, but that didn't happen yesterday. I normally have a pointe class tonight for my exercise, but am thinking about doing a Zumba class before that to kick start this. Of course, since my daughter has been up late the last 2 nights with homework (so of course I have been up late) . . .i am exhausted and also thinking of going home early and getting some rest. We will see how I feel by end of day.

Hang in there MandyKayee! I have had the same thing happen to me, but with consistency, it will start to move in the right direction!

I thought I'd go ahead and stick a topic out here to see if we could get this going again. I seem to be the only one in our class that hasn't lost weight. I did lose about 5 pounds, and gain it, and lose it, and . . . well you get the idea. I was really good over the holiday - exercised ate in moderation and came out with only a one pound gain, which for me is pretty good. So yesterday, I tried to be really good . .. and I gained a pound this morning. Stranger still, I weighed before going to bed and between then and getting up was when I gained it. How in the world can one gain while sleeping? It doesn't seem like it could be physically possible. And no, I don't sleepwalk and eat in my sleep:) Pretty discouraging.
