Hey everyone! C25K is amazing. It helped me reach my goal of becoming a runner in less than 3 months. I can now run 30 mins straight and love the runners high that I experience each time! Thank you!

Did week 8 day 1 last night
It started out a little rough (didnt give myself enough time after dinner I think, was still kinda full) but by halfway through, my head had pushed past my bodies objections.

Due to pain, I have been repeating Week 1 but started alternating the times for Week 1 and Week 2. However - today I randomly decided that I felt well enough to continue running past the 90sec interval and ran for 2.5 minutes! Woohoo! Well, ok, it was mostly downhill but my shins felt good at the moment... sore now... but were good during that 2.5 minutes!

I did wk3 day 2 today. This was after going on a 7 mile quick paced walk with my hiking club last night. I am happy to say I was able to do my half hour workout this afternoon without anything hurting. My legs are strong from all the hiking I did this summer. Now I just have to get my lung capacity in better shape so I can run and move faster!

On Saturday, 10/10...my 35th birthday, I completed my first 5k ever! I can't think of a better way to have celebrated my birthday either. It was tougher than I thought it was going to be, mostly because we ran a course that was laid out in the grass and the ground was really soft and hilly. It was like running cross country! My goal going in to it was to not walk at all. After running for the entire first mile, I revised my goal...it was now just to finish! LOL (I briefly walked off and on just to catch my breath) Luckily I had the support of a friend running with me. He runs marathons, so this 5k was less than his daily run, but he encouraged me the whole way, while his wife and my husband cheered us on from the sidelines.

Finish time: 38:18 (A personal record :) I promise myself that I will have a better time on my next one. Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences, it has helped me to get this far. If I can do it, anyone can!

well, congratulations on your run! i'm fairly new to this team, but have just completed week 5, beginning week 6 today or tomorrow. couldnt believe i ran 20 minutes the other day, but as i posted on my other team, i time my intervals by songs on a cd player with a timer, so the few seconds in between songs, i stretched, inhaled and refocused on my jog...just the few seconds felt rejuvenating.

anyway, just wanted to let y'all know that i'm still here enjoying my program and cheering each of u on your journey!

have a great week! debbie

Well - I did it! Thanks for all the love, encouragement, and support! I was definitely hearing you all cheer me on at the last leg! I made it in at (officially) 35:24. I actually was not at the start line when their official timer started - so I started my own when I was able to cross the start line - so my unofficial time reads 34:55. Either way - I am a happy girl! I walked maybe a quarter mile - more than I wanted too - but I am still happy with my time!

It was FREEZING cold!!! I am not used to running outside - especially in the cold like that! You could see your breath and there was frost on all the trees and ice on the roadway in a few spots!

I was happy to reach the last turn and see good friends with a camera yelling and cheering me on! Wow... that was so great! They are runners but hadn't been running much over summer so they didn't sign up - but wanted to come out and support me! Linda is a fellow Sparker and a great friend! It was super sweet of them to get up early and come out to show support! It was good for them too though - because they both vowed that they would be running it next time! Anyway - I DO have a couple of pictures, but of course it's not my camera and they didn't have a card in it - so I am not sure how to get it on my computer?! I will work on it though!

I am FAR OFF from a 1/2 or a full marathon - but I wouldn't count it out anymore?! That alone is huge?! There IS the Frosty Four miler in February - so I will hopefully continue to train for that one... I walked it all last year - and that was a huge accomplishment... I would love to run most of it this year... we'll see!?

Anyway - I am still thawing out... enjoying - you guessed it - my first cuppa!

Love you all!

I finished!! W9D3!!!

My 5K is in two weeks. I'm hoping I can actually run the full thing, but if not, I still know I can finish in well under an hour. That's the main goal.

I did my first 5k on the treadmill the other day. I was exhausted after! knees definitely not happy with me! But I did it! doing the week 3 day 1 rates just doing the whole distance to build up my endurance. Hopefully tomorrow will be easier. a friend gave me some joint supplements.... glucosamine, etc. Anyone had any luck with this kind of stuff?

Congradulations to everyone below!!! It sounds like we're all doing a wonderful job!!

I did w2 d1 c25k last night. Not to bad. I'm still sticking with the extra minute on the end of my run from last weeks challenge. At the end I ran 2 1/2 minutes straight!! WooHoo!!!! I was so excited. I think that adding on the extra minute at the end of each days workout helps me prepare for the next weeks level. I love running!!

I did it! I did week 3 session 1 yesterday! I hadn't looked ahead to realize what the intervals were (hubby had dowloaded the podcast), so I muttered when the guy said "ready to do your first 3 minute run? Well you'd better be because it starts NOW!". I can't believe I did it! I know the next one will be easier, so now I'm looking forward to it!

What an inspiration you are,NUTRIDAB36!! I just finish w1 c25k. I did the weekly challenge also and added on one extra minute on my last time to run. I ran 2 minutes straight twice this first week!! I'm going to keep doing that because I think that it will help me get ready for the next week level. So keep running! Your doing wonderful!!

Ran my first 5K today thanks to C25K... in 33 min! I still can't believe it! I was never a runner. The feeling of accomplishment at the end of that race is amazing.. I can't find words to describe it. All I can say is Thank you C25K. And to all of you fellow runners... know that you CAN to this!!!!

I actually finished W5 tonight - the one session that was scariest for me. Having completed it, I am incredibly confident in the rest of the program emoticon

Congrats to everyone on their progress!
