Finally feeling as if I will stay here for a while. Not too long, I hope. At least I am staying below 170 for longer than a day or two now. Hoping to lose at least 3 more pounds by the end of May.

emoticon Elle, you made me laugh. I feel for you, as I seem to do the same thing once in a while. I am doing so badly with the weight loss lately that I am desperate enough to start counting fractions of pounds lost. I lost .4 this week. Thinking that is better than gaining .4 What's worse is I was down a pound earlier this week so actually gained back .6!

I can relate, Lilybelle. I was in 160ville for a couple of weeks and now back in 170ville. But today I was down a pound so have hope that I will get back soon. I kick myself every time I do this...drop weight and then gain it back. But I guess all we can do is get back on track and keep trying to get to our goal. emoticon

The weather we've had this week isn't helping...cold, wet, snowy, icy, gray. Just makes you want to stuff yourself with warm comfort food.( I was craving homemade macaroni and cheese today...the kind you make with all the high fat cheese and cream. I did resist making that at least.) Let's hope we all have some nice spring weather soon. Being able to get outside more and walk will be great.

Boy, oh boy - I'm glad that I didn't sublet my place here in this ville. I weighed in this a.m. just under 160, but don't feel it is enough under that I'm confident I can keep it there. I think I am capable of doing better - and just have to ask myself why I seem content to give less than my best to this weight loss effort! What's going on, here???

"They" say that when you get to the end of your rope, you should tie a knot and hang on - and that's probably good advice - rather than giving up, or giving in, I'll try hanging on until I figure out why I don't give this whole journey my best effort!!!

Happy day - to all of us who are hanging on, and all of you who are moving forward (downward?).

Do it, NOW!

I had my writers group last night
which is great because I don't do that night snacking I'm famous for...

I haven't been on the scale yet today
(I'm a scale addict)
but will probably skip it because I've already had coffee
And sometimes the scale can put me in a bad mood LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Can't wait to meet everyone in 150ville!!!

Don't mind you posting my message at all. It's good to remember we all have many things going on in our lives and that we can't do everything we want/need to do all the time. We do what we can and are grateful for a place like this where we can go for support and friendship. You said it well.

Hi - because I think I may be the only one who received this Spark Mail from our fellow Sparker, I'm taking liberty to post it here. Mary has a good message for us - much like Linda's earlier message. We all have obstacles in life - and there is no getting around them. So, we do what we have to do, and then we do what we sometimes do what we want to do. The important thing is that we keep 'doing' - Thanks, Mary. Hope you don't mind that I posted your message here (see it below).

Hi
Yes, Linda makes a good point. We all have things that keep us from posting as often as we wish we could sometimes. With me it's a 93 year old mother-in-law who needs a lot of help and has numerous health issues and a sister-in-law going through chemo. I think I have spent half of my time getting them to clinic appointments this winter. I am more than happy to do it but it does get crazy at times.

It is good to post when I can because I really need the motivation and accountability if I ever want to reach my goal weight. I think this group is going to be a BIG help. Will be looking forward to seeing like-minded friends (as you said) in the "Town Meeting" group whenever I canl Thanks for all your input and help getting it going and bringing us all together.
Mary

Hello everyone! Finally made it to town. Thought I'd be here a couple of weeks ago, but hormonal bad weather kept me in 170ville for a little extra time until the water subsided. So excited to be here! I'm sure I'll be around for 2 or 3 months. Looking forward to getting to know you all and perhaps resuming our travels together in the next town.

169.4 today emoticon

Oh - now I am getting excited! Because I keep vacillating between 160-ville and 150-ville, I have one foot in each town - hoping to keep my friends from 160-ville while I slowly move toward 150-ville. Many of you have indicated you might be in the same boat - so I think I'll try and keep up with both teams - that way, I get the best of both worlds (villes). With each new Sparker comes a whole new way of looking at things, and I glean so much good motivation. Here we have Sparkarino (in 150-ville) - and when I checked her Spark Page, I saw that she has listed some great ideas, and further more she posts a loss of 25 pounds. Hooray!! We are accumulating a fine group of 'villers' who are getting their act together and moving forward.

Oh, and today I decided that instead of be-moaning the fact that I don't like to drink water, I'll consider every drop that I drink as nourishment for my kidneys. So far, it is making what has been a chore into a privilege. So Elle - that will count as my good decision today - and if I'm wise, I'll make it a lifetime decision. Thanks for posing the question.

Do you have a tip you can/will share? We're on a roll, 'ville mates!!

Do it, NOW!

Good Morning
Hope everyone is doing well today. Gray and gloomy and drizzly here in Wisconsin. Trying to think spring even with snow in the forecast and not eat too much chocolate...my downfall! That will be my struggle this week with bad weather on the way. I will be tempted to hibernate, read and eat.

DH decided to do some painting this morning so that should keep me on my feet today. I will help him and try to turn it into extra exercise...my good choice today.

Good questions, elle.

Hello 160-villers: Several of us on this team are anxious to be more involved - and so I ask the question: Are you one of us who wants to be more involved with this team? Did you join this team hoping to find 'soul-mates' who share your desire to have your scale reading get below 160? We're trying to push a 're-start button' for this team, but first need to know how many are in the same boat as us!

How about it - want to get involved, activate your motivation, learn new tips, find a listening ear, share some of the great tips that you've developed? This is the place for a town meeting - today is the day - now is the time. Want to be included in this 'renewal project"?

I hope you are all saying, "yes - I want to be included" - just respond here and we'll see what we come up with. Hope you'll join us!!

Do it, NOW!

Well, I've got my bags packed - ready to leave but can't quite trust my scale when it says I'm weighing in below 160. So, I'm keeping my bags packed - just in case. Isn't that a hoot? Kind of like keeping my 'fat' clothes around just in case I gain some weight back. But experience is a great teacher, and because I've lost and gained before, I don't have a lot of faith that it won't happen again.

Wow - lucky me!! New friends traveling the same road as me - I'm sure the trip will be much more pleasant with traveling companions. And yes, I agree, Let's stay in touch!!!

Still here, though after a chocolate-and-jelly-bean-heavy Easter I have gone back to 170ville for a short visit. Hope to be back to the 160s soon. You are not alone, Lilybelle. Consider me a friend. emoticon

When I first discovered this team, I thought "hooray" this is a group that I can really relate to because we will all have the same goal of "leaving the 160s" - which is one of my 'short-term' goals. But I'm starting to think I inadvertently walked into a ghost town - and maybe everyone has already moved on - left 160-ville for good.

In case there is anyone still here, I'd like to meet you before I move on to the next town - 150-ville. Anyone here? Anyone care to make a new friend before I move out of town? If not now, maybe we'll meet up again in 150-ville.

Do it, NOW!
