Gluten. I really struggle with it. Daughter has full blown celiac, but my throat just puffs up like a frog so dh and dd can tell at a glance when I've been eating it.

Doritios and potato chips. Used to eat daily but cut down to every other or every two days. Used to eat the whole bag in one sitting but 1/3 now. Used to eat kettle but switched to baked. Sometimes I sub pretzels for chips.

SUGAR!!! I love sweet things so I've changed how I get my sugar-fix. Eating sweet fresh fruits like pineapples and tomatoes and sucking them instead of just biting and swallowing. emoticon

Sweets. That damn sweet tooth gets me every time. And as someone else mentioned, it's the prep work of eating healthy that makes it hard to kick the bad food habit. I really should substitute my afternoon cup for a green smoothie. I used to do that and it really helped decrease my sweet cravings, amazingly. It was one unexpected positive of drinking my fruits and veggies! I initially did it to feel better and get better nutrition into my body. I think I'll call my girlfriend who also does it and be held green smoothie drinking accountable.

Diet Pop --- I logged 80 days on a SparkStreak last fall but always continue to fall off the wagon.

I was told for years that I couldn't have alcohol do to heart failure issues. I continued to drink occasionally. Last August 26th was my last time to have alcohol. I drank that weekend and ended up in the hospital with heartrate issues. Cardiologist asked me about the drinking. I admitted I had been. He reminded me of his previous instructions. That do to the left-sided weakness in my heart that I COULDN'T NOT HAVE IT (alcohol). I told him -- August 26th would be my last drink.

I'm stubborn and feel if I can't have alcohol at parties and special events --- I'm not giving up my diet pop.

And I definitely am not working on it as long as I'm losing weight.

So sad to hear about that Blue Bell-- contamination issue-- That bacteria is very dangerous and can be fatal.

I am with Vicki-- in my love for peanut butter. LOVE it!! I think that I could eat a full jar!
Also, I love to eat nachos with cheese sauce-- Yum!

(How can one stop at one tablespoon of peanut butter, OR four chips with nachos cheese) ??

I am glad to hear about the Artic Zero ice cream and must look for it in the store--

God grant me the strength to reach my goal.

About the wine--I have been thinking a lot about drinking lately. emoticon Let me explain--I'm not a drinker--at all. But I have noticed people who have a little wine every week seem to be healthier. I've been meaning to look this up on-line about this but haven't had the chance. Any thoughts on this? Would really appreciate anyone's input. Found an article but can't link it. Brewing the Benefits of Good Health. Is Beer Good for You? by Edward C. Geehr, M.D. Found it in the search box on sparkpeople. It was a positive view except only in moderation. It didn't talk about just beer--it mentioned wine quite a bit too.

Oh, and for the ice cream fiends (that has always been my major downfall) try ARTIC ZERO. I love it. A pint is only 150 calories, has protein and no artificial sweeteners, coloring, etc. It is a really good substitute for ice cream.

My guilty pleasure would be white wine. Do not want to nor have any intention of giving up that one small glass of wine, sometimes two, in the evening. I just track it in my calories.

Ranch dressing. Don't get me wrong, I eat the Italian and have even found a SUPER YUMMY Mustard dressing on here, but it doesn't compare to my NOT FAT FREE ranch dressing.

A nice glass of wine and ice cream (not necessarily together!). Actually, I haven't given them up, just modified how much. I still allow myself the occasional glass of wine. Instead of eating an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's in one sitting, I now go for a Skinny Cow or Weight Watcher's ice cream treat for one of my snacks.

I figure as long as I track it in with my other food, and I fits within my daily goals for cals/carbs/fat/protein, etc, I'm good!
