I do not know about you, but sometimes even when I am doing things right my weight fluctuates and it is very frustrating. Hang in there and you will work your back to being on track!

I forgot to post here on Sunday when I weighed in ... +2 pounds ... won't go into the why's and wherefore's - ha! I know WHY! And I'm finding it difficult to get back on track this week ... soooooo ... it may be a while for better results to start showing. After all, I don't expect miracles! Just good honest results from good honest efforts ... which I'm 'honestly' not doing quite so good at presently!

One more pound down ... this has slowed down to a crawl - ha!

Honestly, I know what things I need to do a bit better than this past week ... I actually was surprised I lost this pound even. Hopefully next week will do better! But even one pound a week ADDS UP - ha!

I at 141 again this week. I am glad I am maintaining, but I would really love to break into the 130's. Now that the time has changed I hope to get more exercise in with my personal trainer.

I weighed in at 141.4 again today. I am glad that I did not gain since I did not exercise as much over the weekend. I am happy though as my husband and I found the shoes we were looking for so now I have a couple pair of tennis shoes; one for my workouts and one for my walking/hiking. And they were all on sale or clearance!! YEAH!!!

This week I weighed in at 141.8. I found a new place to pick and choose different exercise videos (BeFit TV) on youtube. There are so many different trainers and levels to choose from in case anyone is interested. It is free to sign up. I worked out to Jillian Michaels this morning.

This week I am at 141.4. Although this sound good, I believe the reason I dropped this much weight was due to being sick and not being able to eat correctly. My goal now is to get better so I can exercise again and start eating correctly without putting on all the weight again.

Ok, I had another bad week apparently because I gained weight again. I am now at 150.4. Very frustrating, but my husband has now joined Spark People so perhaps we can do some exercising together and he is now all about healthy eating so I am looking forward to a good couple of months.

That 2 lbs. could just be excess fluid. If you dropped a size in jeans, you sound like you're losing inches, which is fantastic.
I'm at 251.2 so I lost 3.8 lbs. for the week but I'm bad to yo-yo.

Ok, this week is weird. I weighed 145.2 this morning which means I gained two pounds, but when I purchased some new jeans over the weekend, I dropped a size. Oh well; on to another tough week. We are having a Halloween Potluck and costume contest on Friday so I am sure I will go over on calories on Friday. I think I will have to exercise a lot this weekend!

I like that middle ground. I thought perhaps that I should get down to what I weighed in highschool, but that is crazy. I am a different person now and a little more weight may be a good thing. I, too, need to find a middle ground where I feel good about how I look and have the necessary padding if needed.

As for Red Lobster, once in a while is not a bad thing and just being with your husband lifted your spirits and let you perhaps de-stress a little. I think it was awesome.

Patty, you're such a dear!!! Thank you for your never-failing encouragement!!

The obesity Paradox still has me doing a lot of thinking. That is one of the reasons my long term goal is only 195 (instead of going for 140 or so). Keep a little extra weight on, but not the massive amount I'm carrying now. We'll just sort of play it by ear and see how it goes from month to month. I know it will help my back, hips, and knees tremendously to drop some of this excess weight, but I'm not ready for skin and bones!! Also, with liver disease, you generally hit a point where you are losing weight and can't stop it. This way I'll have a cushion so that I can handle that when the time comes. Anyway, we'll find a good middle ground in there somewhere, but I know I have a ways to go before I get anywhere close to that. So, I'll keep going steadily now (and stay away from Red Lobster! LOL!!).

I do think 195 sounds lighter. I will look up Obesity Paradox since it seems like you might be between a rock and a hard place. If you lose a lot of weight does that mean your illness get worse??...but you do not want to gain any weight because that can cause other issues. Not good. Hmmmmm........

Patty, I'm also 5'4" and I'll be tickled to death if I make it to 195 (sounds much lighter than 200, don't you think? LOL!).

I was reading the other day about something called the "Obesity Paradox". Apparently a good number of folks who (like me) are quite obese and have serious illnesses are living much longer than expected. Apparently the obesity has some sort of effect on the body that is positive! Since I've lived almost a decade longer than the drs. predicted, I can't help wondering if that might be part of the reason I'm still alive. Interesting concept. Google and see what you think.

I am thinking I will have to revise my weight goals. I am 52 and 5' 4". In some part of my head I would like to get back down to 120, but I think my doctor only wants me to get down to the 130's so that I have a little padding if I take a fall.
